SEOLDAM

설담 마곡점 Seoldam Magok-jeom

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

Seoldam Magok is a Hanwoo beef tasting-course restaurant on the 11th floor of NY Tower, between Magok and Balsan stations. The course runs from milk-rice porridge, a shrimp-and-lotus-root jeon, seared tenderloin, three small bites and a Pyongyang-style cold noodle to the main: Hanwoo you grill yourself on a personal brazier, served with rice and side dishes, then sorbet. The basic dinner course is 79,000 won a head (90 g striploin); swapping the rice for sea-bream pot rice adds 17,000 won, and four posts paid 192,000 won for two that way. Lunch starts at 29,000 won. We read 30 posts dated 12 August to 15 October 2026; two were about nearby cafes and set aside, leaving 28 actual visits. Sixteen of them had the dinner A course and six the lunch C course.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a private-room place: 21 of 28 visits mention the rooms. One couple was given a large room for two, and three posts say they could adjust the room's air conditioning themselves. But one family that booked a room for a formal meeting of the in-laws found it windowless and a little stuffy, so not every room has a view.
  2. One side of the hall is floor-to-ceiling glass. Fifteen posts describe a window seat or the view over Magok, and evening visitors around 7:30 describe the sunset. One post sat in a room with no window. One writer was told window tables need booking a month or two ahead; that is hearsay and we did not count it.
  3. Courses are paced to the table. Four posts say the food did not drag and arrived as they finished each dish; none complained of slowness. Two say dessert comes when you ring the bell or ask after the meal.
  4. The beef is only 90 g, but the whole course fills people up. Four posts say it was a lot of food, one admitting she expected too little and left very full; one called the amount just right.
3 more
  1. Ten posts call the staff kind, mostly for explaining each dish. One writer who burned an arm on the brazier was brought burn cream, a bandage and an ice pack.
  2. Many posts repeat the house notice: corkage free for two bottles per party, 50,000 won a bottle after that, and not for wines sold on the list. Only one post actually brought its own wine.
  3. One post (1 September 2026) went with a child. They did not have to order for the child: a free kids' tray of rice, beef seaweed soup and laver came out, and extra kimchi on request.

Parking

Posts saying you can park3 of 27 posts

Three posts parked in the building, all at dinner, one noting the garage was roomy. The copied parking terms disagree: two hours free then 1,800 won per 30 minutes in one, 2,000 won per 30 minutes in another. Four posts relay the house warning that the garage is crowded at weekday lunch.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 5 (of 27 posts read)
Lift to the floor5 of 27 posts

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. Five posts took the lift to the 11th floor, and two say the front door opens automatically at the press of a button. That is silence, not a 'no'.

No visit says where the toilets are or what they are like. 'Separate men's and women's toilets' appears once, copied from the listing.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Of the 28 visits, one discloses a hosted meal and two say they paid; the other 25 say nothing. Twenty-four of them landed between 3 and 15 October 2026 and reuse the same phrases (the 'family meeting, anniversary, date, blind date' list, '450 m from exit 3 of Magok station'). They read like a sponsored campaign, but since they don't say so we don't assume it. Read the six posts calling the prices reasonable with that in mind.
  • One thing changed: from 1 October 2026, a post says, lunch courses are not sold on weekends or public holidays and only the dinner menu is served; a copied menu marks every lunch course weekdays-only. The 29,000-won lunch is a weekday thing. The restaurant has not moved.
  • No one queued. Sixteen posts had booked, and two noticed waiting seats at the entrance. What happens if you walk in without a booking, nobody says.
  • Only two posts describe actually walking from the subway (5 to 10 minutes from Balsan exit 9, and one who always comes by train). The line '450 m from Magok exit 3' is the same copied phrase in many posts.
  • Twenty-one posts give opening hours, nearly all 'daily 11:30-22:00, break 15:00-17:00, last order 20:30', and every one is a copied block. One says it opens at 11:00 and one gives the break as 15:30-17:00. Two copy 'no regular closing day'.
  • The phone number 0507-1469-0533 is copied in many posts. People booked through Naver or Catch Table; nobody says they reserved by phone.
