Jungnimgak
중림각 Jungnim is the neighborhood, Jungnim-dong, and -gak means a pavilion or hall.
Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →
Jungnimgak is a Chinese restaurant on the first and second floors of 443 Cheongpa-ro in Jung-gu, between Seoul Station and Chungjeongno Station, next to Yakhyeon Cathedral. Jjajangmyeon is 7,000 won, jjamppong 10,000 won, a small sweet-and-sour pork 23,000 won, and a set for two (a small main plus one of each noodle) 38,000–40,000 won. You order from a tablet at the table; posts describe it as a place for couples sharing a set or for office dinners. We read 30 posts from 2 September to 14 October 2026: two were about neighbouring restaurants and set aside, one gave no first-hand account, leaving 27 visits. They arrived within six weeks with the same hashtags and stock sentences, so read the counts below with that in mind.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Eight posts say the food came fast and none say it was slow. The times they give: about five minutes, about five minutes, everything within ten minutes, and roughly ten minutes.
- Nine posts describe ordering on a tablet at each table. One diner asked staff for a zero-sugar cola that was not on it; another noted the ingredient origins can be checked on the tablet while ordering.
- Fourteen posts call the portions large and one does not. Diners wrote that even the small sweet-and-sour pork was plenty, that they could not finish the jjamppong broth, and that a small order of kkanpung shrimp held eight big shrimp. The one dissent found the jjajangmyeon simply a normal single serving.
- Nine posts call it good value and none call it expensive; one, looking at the 7,000-won jjajangmyeon, remarked that most places now charge close to 10,000.
5 more
- Six posts mention that instead of water you get tea, a cold jasmine tea by several accounts. The standard side dishes are pickled radish, raw onion and black-bean paste.
- Twenty-four posts call the place clean. Where they say why: tables were not sticky, no grease film, a kitchen that looked clean at a glance. The remark appears in almost every post of the same template, so weigh it accordingly.
- Four posts walked from the subway: about five minutes from Chungjeongno Station exit 4, under ten minutes from Seoul Station exit 15.
- Nine posts found the jjamppong, kkanpung shrimp or yuringi spicy, one found it not too hot, and two were noncommittal. One put the basic jjamppong just above Shin Ramyun; another warned it may be a bit much for people who avoid heat.
- Six posts went as a couple. Others went with parents, a friend or coworkers, and several noticed office dinners at nearby tables.

Parking

Many posts repeat the shop's notice that there is no lot of its own but parking at the Siloam car park about 120 m away is validated by bill size; that is copied text, and the threshold is given as 30,000 won in some posts and 50,000 won in others. Only one post actually parked there, and found plenty of space on a Friday evening.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 23 of 27 posts |

| In a basement | yes 0 · no 23 (of 27 posts read) |
| Toilet inside | 5 of 27 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 27 posts |
The way in is not off the main road but up a staircase down the side alley; 23 posts describe climbing it to eat on the second floor. Posts say the entrance is easy to miss from the street and that a notice on the ground-floor door sends you upstairs. Nearly every post repeats that the ground floor has a ten-seat private room and a hall, but nobody ate there; one post says it opens only at lunch, another that the lights were on but it did not seem to be operating.
Posts describe the route to the second floor as a staircase at the side of the building. Nobody mentioned a lift, a step at the door, or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means we do not know, not that there is none. We also do not know whether you can eat on the ground floor instead.
Five posts say the toilet is inside the restaurant; one places it on the second floor.
Two posts report from their visit that the toilets are separated by gender; other mentions are copied from the listing.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post reports waiting in line, which means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait. One diner found the room packed and a free table hard to spot, another booked through Naver in case of a queue, and one noticed waiting seats at the second-floor door.
- Several posts say corkage is free, but all repeat the shop's notice; nobody reports bringing their own bottle.
- Opening hours disagree. Seventeen posts give 10:00 to 21:00 and three give an 11:00 opening; sixteen say it closes on Sundays. The 10:00 figure is almost always copied from the listing. Of the 11:00 posts, one read the sign at the shop and noted last orders at 20:50, another gave last orders at 20:30. We cannot tell which is current.
- Prices come from menus and receipts in posts from September and October 2026. One post (5 October) lists jjamppong at 9,000 won while every post before and after says 10,000, so we cannot tell a price change from a typo. The set for two is 38,000 won with sweet-and-sour pork and 40,000 won with kkanpunggi; a large noodle portion adds 2,000 won. One couple's set plus a drink came to 42,000 won.
- Ten posts give the phone number as 0507-1313-0035; one gives 02-364-9999. Diners have booked through Naver, and one post copies the booking page's note that even booked tables may wait about ten minutes at 12:00–12:30.
- Every visit post dates from 2 September to 14 October 2026 and repeats the same hashtags and stock lines about the ten-seat room downstairs and the hard-to-find entrance. None discloses sponsorship. One post says it ordered the kkanpunggi set and later calls it the sweet-and-sour pork set. With posts like these, trust what was ordered and what it cost more than the verdicts.
