Hongbaek Minari Syabeu Kalguksu

홍백 미나리 샤브칼국수 Hongbaek means red and white — one post reads it as the spicy red broth and the clear white broth; minari is Korean water dropwort, the herb the house piles into every pot.

Compiled from 18 blog posts read in fullSources →

A minari (water dropwort) shabu-shabu kalguksu house that opened in late August 2026 on the ground floor of the Bukhansanseong shopping block, right by the Bukhansanseong trail center in Jingwan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu. You pick a broth — spicy red, clear, or perilla (16,000 won per person for the first two, 17,000 for perilla) — and get beef, vegetables, noodles and fried rice in one set; minari, mushrooms and extra noodles come from a self-serve bar in the middle of the room. Many posts say staff take the pot to the kitchen to make the fried rice. We read 30 posts dated 24 August to 19 October 2026: 11 were about other restaurants with similar names (mostly Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu branches) and were discarded, one only mentioned this place as a parking tip inside a Starbucks review, and 18 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eleven posts mention the big windows looking out on the Bukhansan ridges or the Starbucks garden behind; one says a window seat frames the mountain completely.
  2. Eight posts describe an outdoor terrace off the back of the room, with wooden tables and benches and folding doors thrown open. Two say you can't eat out there (one cites bugs), so treat it as a place to step out for the view rather than a dining spot.
  3. Whether the red broth is hot depends who you ask: three posts said it wasn't very spicy (one spice-lover was a little disappointed), one called it hot and peppery. A family that can't handle heat said they managed the spicy version fine.
  4. Nearly every visit post says minari, mushrooms and noodles are refillable at the self-serve bar; eight also mention topping up kimchi, cabbage salad and broth there. One noted three separate bins of minari.

  1. One post notes a one-portion-per-person rule; another says that unlike most shabu kalguksu places it serves solo diners, so a single person can order one set.

Parking

Posts saying you can park13 of 18 posts

Parking is what people write about most. Thirteen of the 18 visit posts describe parking: you use the shopping-block lot out front and give your plate number at the till to get free time. Most posts say six hours; one says they were given four. One visitor on a public holiday found the lot packed but an attendant on hand; another parked at 9 a.m. on a weekend and went hiking first. Five posts said there was plenty of room.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 2 (of 18 posts read)
Step at the entrance1 of 18 posts
Step-free accessyes 0 · no 1 (of 18 posts read)

We know little about getting in. Two posts say it is on the ground floor of the shopping block, and one post's info list says a step at the door makes wheelchair entry difficult. Nobody described arriving with a stroller or wheelchair.

No post mentions the restrooms — where they are or whether they are separated by gender. That means unknown, not absent.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 19 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one wrote about arriving by bus or subway. One post says it is about three minutes on foot from the Bukhansanseong entrance but recommends driving; the rest came by car or after a hike.
  • Waiting is unknown. One post walked straight in on a weekend afternoon; another came right at opening to avoid the crowd. Nobody reported a wait at a peak autumn weekend lunch.
  • Twelve posts list the same opening hours, 10:00–21:00 daily, but almost all copied them into an info header. One says there is no afternoon break, another says it is open every day of the year. No one gave a last-order time.
  • Prices come from August–September 2026 posts: 16,000 won for the spicy or clear set, 17,000 for perilla, 16,000 for either minari pancake, 7,000/11,000 won for pork cutlet, 11,000 for extra beef. Seven posts called it good value and none called it expensive, but every post is from the first two months, so later prices are unknown.
  • Eight posts give the phone number as 0507-1317-7291; one gives 02-356-7291. Online reservations appear only in copied info lists — no one wrote about booking ahead.
  • All 18 visit posts appeared in the first weeks after opening (24 August to 5 October). Only one discloses sponsorship, but the same stock phrases ('newly opened', 'a view straight onto Bukhansan') and an identical hashtag set recur across several. Each still records its own order and parking details, so we counted them as visits.
