Muhaksan Ori Hauseu

무학산 오리하우스 Muhaksan is a mountain in Changwon (Masan), South Gyeongsang, where posts say the chain began; ori means duck, so the name reads 'Muhaksan Duck House'.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

A duck bulgogi restaurant on the second floor of the Norunsan Market building in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Thin-sliced duck arrives heaped with chives, onion and enoki and is stir-grilled on a tabletop griddle; fried rice made from the leftovers costs 3,000 won and comes with a free doenjang stew. The small soy duck bulgogi is 32,000 won (discounted) in posts from May 2026 on, and 35,000 won before that. There is a self-serve bar of greens, bean sprouts and pickles, and a café corner for after-meal coffee and chrysanthemum tea. Some posts say the space used to be a large bakery. We read 30 posts from December 9, 2025 to October 13, 2026; 28 of them describe an actual visit.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Of the 28 visit posts, 27 say they went back to the self-serve bar for more sides or greens. Bean sprouts from the bar, tossed onto the griddle with the duck, come up again and again; one post lists celery, bellflower root and garlic-scape pickles, and several mention white wood-ear and bellflower pickles among the starter sides.
  2. Fourteen posts say staff cooked the duck at the table, though more than half of those come from a batch of near-identical posts in June–July 2026. Outside that batch, posts describe staff checking the heat and stirring, and coming over to fry the 'self-serve' rice. Other posts describe flipping the meat themselves, so whether staff always cook it is mixed.
  3. Fourteen posts call the portions large; several say even a small order had to go on the griddle in two batches, and one party of three who ordered a medium thought a small would do for two. Two posts warn that the heap shrinks as it cooks, so order generously.
  4. Eight posts say they had free coffee or chrysanthemum tea after the meal. About the café corner, a May 2026 post says americano and instant coffee are free and everything else is paid, while a March 2026 post says a coffee order there cost 2,000 won. Posts disagree on whether the cookies and ice cream are sold or free.

  1. Nine posts are family outings — a mother-in-law's birthday, a Lunar New Year meal with parents, a holiday lunch with kids. Posts mention high chairs and kids' tableware, and one family gathering booked ahead and found the table already set.
  2. Twenty-four posts say the room is big; one guesses it seats close to 200. Posts also mention high ceilings and seats with storage under the cushion or a drawer for coats and bags.
  3. Six posts ordered on a tablet at the table or a kiosk; one notes the tablet menu is properly translated into English, Japanese and Chinese.
  4. Three posts walked from Konkuk Univ. station, about ten minutes. Posts say there are two entrances, a back door inside Norunsan Market and a front door on the main road.

Posts saying you can park8 of 28 posts

Eight posts describe parking. The spaces in front are few; with the restaurant receipt, the public lot next door (Jayang 4-dong market lot) charged 1,080 won for 90 minutes, and one compact-car driver paid 300 won. One post says you press the intercom before exiting and show the receipt.

Getting inside

Second floor4 of 28 posts
Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 28 posts read)
Separate restrooms2 of 28 posts

No post puts it in a basement; it is on the second floor of the Norunsan Market building, with parking on the ground floor according to one post.

No post describes entering with a wheelchair or stroller. Several say they climbed stairs to the second floor, and a May 2026 post says both the market-side back door and the main-road front door are stairs only. Nobody mentions an elevator.

Nobody says whether the restroom is inside the restaurant or out in the building; posts do say it is separated by gender and clean. Its location is unknown to us.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours changed. Posts through August 2026 give 11:00–21:30 daily (last order 20:50); posts from late September give 11:00–22:00 (last order 21:30). Most are copied listing blocks. Most say open every day; a single October 2026 post instead lists an 11:30 start, a 15:00–17:00 break and Monday closing.
  • Prices: the soy duck bulgogi was 35,000 / 49,000 / 63,000 won (S/M/L) in December 2025 and March 2026 posts, and 32,000 / 45,000 / 58,000 won from May 2026. A September 2026 post says that is a discount off the regular price; we do not know how long it lasts. One post puts a meal for two (small plus one fried rice) at about 35,000 won. Nobody called it expensive; four posts called it cheap.
  • No post describes waiting in line. One July 2026 post rushed over after hearing it gets busy and found the place empty. Lines about possible peak-time waits are copied or guesses, so we do not rely on them; actual wait times are unknown.
  • Many posts give the same phone number, 0507-1488-1509. One post booked ahead, but none says how reservations are taken or for what party size.
  • Eight posts from June 16 to July 29, 2026 repeat the same phrases in the same order — the location between two subway stations, the parking line, staff grilling for you — so we treat them as one commissioned batch. None discloses sponsorship; one calls itself a hosted visit. Two posts (December 2025, May 2026) only compile listing data and reviews and are not counted as visits. The claim that this is a branch of a famous Changwon (Masan) chain is the restaurant's own marketing, and we do not rely on it.
