Haechoseom
해초섬 Haechoseom means 'seaweed island'; a story posted in the restaurant's rooms says it is named after a small island near Joyakdo in Jangheung, South Jeolla, where seaweed grows thick.

Haechoseom is a Korean set-meal restaurant on the 10th-floor dining level of Lotte Department Store Konkuk Star City in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Meals are ordered per head: a base of mixed seaweeds, seaweed bibimbap and seaweed soup, topped up with grilled fish, bone-in raw fish and boiled pork. Prices run from 16,000 won (Haechoseom set) to 27,000 won (Bada set) and 35,000 won (Myeongpum set) per person. We read 30 posts dated 6 August to 15 October 2026; nine describe actually eating here, and the rest are about other shops in the same department store or are new-listing roundups.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- There are private rooms: eight of the nine visit posts mention them. One put the number at two or three, another at exactly three, and one said they range from a small room for four to a large one for ten or more. Two posts booked a room, and one family lights candles on a cake and sings happy birthday in theirs.
- Being on the 10th floor, it has a view: six posts described looking out over the Konkuk University area from a window seat or room, one naming the university and its hospital, another the campus lake. One post said only one of the three rooms (room 3) has a view, and booked it for that reason. Another got a window table only by arriving before 11:30 on a weekday.
- Expect a wait at mealtimes: three posts saw people queuing — on a Wednesday at 1:30 pm the waiting list was full of names and party sizes; on a weekday at 1 pm there was a wait but tables turned fast; and one dinner visit also had a queue. One post walked straight in before 11:30 on a weekday. Two mentioned a waiting area outside the door. No one recorded how many minutes they waited.
- Families come here: three of the nine visit posts went with family — one for every family birthday, one two or three times a year with a spouse and nine-year-old son, one feeding grilled mackerel to a 28-month-old. Two posts noted high chairs. One post went as a couple and one with a friend.

- Three posts said the seasoning is not salty — one had worried the dried croaker would be, and found it wasn't. Four noted that the bibimbap comes with a soybean-paste sauce rather than chili paste. No post called the food salty.

It sits on the 10th-floor dining level, and one post rode the elevator up from the subway station. No one wrote about a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in — not that there is a problem, just that nobody said.
One post noted there is no restroom inside the restaurant; you use the department store's. No other post mentioned restrooms.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 11 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Views on service are split one to one: one post found the staff friendly, while a regular who comes two or three times a year wrote that at lunchtime and other busy periods orders often get missed and you shouldn't expect much warmth.
- Seven of the nine visit posts, all from August to October 2026, follow the same outline (recommended for family gatherings and engagement meetings, private rooms, easy parking because it's in a department store, near Konkuk Univ. station) and share hashtags. Only one discloses receiving a meal voucher; the other six say nothing either way. The two posts outside this pattern come from families who return regularly.
- All the opening hours we have were copied from listing blocks: six posts give 11:00–20:30 daily, four of them adding last orders at 19:45, and one gives 10:30–21:00. The restaurant closes on the department store's regular closing days and may shut early when ingredients run out.
- Prices are from posts dated August–October 2026: per person, the Haechoseom set is 16,000 won, the squid set 17,000, the Bada set 27,000 and the Myeongpum set 35,000; the medium seafood bossam is 40,000. Two posts paid 70,000 won for the Myeongpum set for two. Three posts called the prices reasonable, one of them a post that received a free meal voucher; none called them expensive.
- The phone number 02-2218-3965 appears in four posts' listing blocks. Two posts made a reservation and two advised booking for groups or rooms, but none said whether they booked by phone or online.
