The Parkview
더 파크뷰 Deo Pakeubyu Park View — the hall's windows look out on the hotel's pine garden and stone-wall waterfall toward Namsan, which posts say is where the name comes from.

The Parkview is the buffet restaurant of The Shilla Seoul (249 Dongho-ro, Jung-gu), on the ground floor next to the lobby. It serves a breakfast buffet from 6 to 10 a.m., then lunch and dinner buffets. Adult prices posted around October 2026: 90,000 won for breakfast, 178,000 won for weekday lunch, 204,000 won for weekend lunch, 198,000 won for Monday–Thursday dinner and 208,000 won for Friday–Sunday dinner. We read 30 posts dated 24 December 2025 to 17 October 2026. We set aside 10 that were really about other parts of the hotel (the duty-free shop, the pool, room deals), 4 were introductions or lists by people who didn't go, and 16 describe actual meals — 10 breakfasts and 7 lunches or dinners (one post covers both). Most of the 16 date from September–October 2026; one is a December 2025 holiday dinner.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Lunch and dinner are booked ahead: six posts say they reserved. One booked a weekend lunch a month out and still found only the second seating (2–4 p.m.) left; one booked a weekday dinner two weeks ahead and found it fully booked; one reserved a December group dinner back in October. Posts differ on the deposit — 30,000 won per person in one, 20,000 won for two in another — and both say it was refunded after the meal.
- Waiting is mainly a breakfast issue. Two posts waited at breakfast — one joined the CatchTable queue from the QR code in the room and got in sooner than expected, another said it was so crowded you had to wait to get in. One post arrived around 7:30, having heard it fills up from 8, and found plenty of room; another came down at 8:30 on a weekend, found it full and was seated in the lounge bar next door. At lunch and dinner, three posts saw a line forming in the lobby before the seating time, but one notes that tables are assigned, so there is no need to queue early.
- Weekends run in two-hour seatings: two posts that went to the weekend 2–4 p.m. lunch and 5–7 p.m. dinner ate within those slots. One post that went on a weekday evening says there was no time limit.
- Six posts mention a window seat. Through the glass you see a pine garden and a waterfall running down a stone wall, or Namsan. One post asked for a window table; another was told seats can't be requested but got one anyway.

- Four posts arrived by public transport. From exit 5 of Dongguk Univ. Station (Line 3) the road to the hotel climbs steeply, so one recommends the hotel shuttle; two walked up. One came by bus (No. 144) to the Jangchung Arena stop.
- Wine comes with dinner, according to four posts: a welcome glass of champagne or wine is served at the table, and at a December 2025 holiday dinner staff kept topping up two red wines after a rosé champagne. One pregnant diner asked for something else instead and was told it couldn't be swapped because the drink is complimentary.
- Four posts brought children. At breakfast, a table set with a high chair also gets two crayons and a colouring sheet; another family was steered to a quieter section rather than a view table and noticed other families with babies seated nearby. One post says children up to 36 months eat free.

Parking
5 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Five posts came by car. You park in the hotel's separate lot (233 Dongho-ro) and take a shuttle up to the lobby. Two posts used valet parking; one turned it down at 35,000 won. A post about a 14-person team dinner says staff came to the private room to register everyone's parking.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

We don't know about wheelchair access. Two posts say the restaurant is on the lobby floor, and one family kept a sleeping baby in a stroller beside the table throughout breakfast. No one says whether there is a step at the entrance or how the parking shuttle works for a wheelchair — that means no one wrote about it, not that there's a problem.
We don't know about the toilets. No post describes where they are or what they're like; one post repeats the listing's line about separate men's and women's toilets, which we don't count.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 20 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Prices shift with the season. One post paid 225,000 won for a weekday dinner in December 2025, against 198,000 won for Monday–Thursday dinner around October 2026, and posts note that peak periods like the year-end carry their own rates. Five posts call it expensive. Two point out that breakfast costs hotel guests 62,000 won if requested by 6 p.m. the day before, versus 90,000 won at the door.
- Opening hours depend on the meal. Five posts agree breakfast runs 6:00–10:00. Lunch and dinner times differ between weekdays and weekends, with weekend lunch and Friday–Sunday dinner split into two seatings, but most of those times are copied from the hotel's own listing. One post says that in the December 2025 holiday season even weekday dinner had a second seating at 7:30 p.m. Check the times for your date before going.
- Five posts give 02-2230-3374 for reservations. One booked a 14-person private room through the hotel's main number (02-2233-3131); another found phone booking friendly and says a phone call can turn up tables after online booking shows full.
- Accounts of table spacing differ: two posts found the two-person tables close together, while one found the tables roomy and the chairs comfortable.
- Several affiliate posts sell hotel room deals. Four of them repeat the same promotion's price table (715,000 won, 645,000 won and so on) and booking links, and mention The Parkview only as part of a package; we counted none of them.
