부어치킨 장한평역점 Bueo Chikin Janghanpyeong-yeokjeom Bueo Chicken is a nationwide Korean fried-chicken chain; bueo is an old word for a plain, straightforward man. This branch is on the ground floor of the Jangan Withersvill arcade between Janghanpyeong and Dapsimni stations, and unlike most of the chain it has a room to sit in and tables out on the pavement.

Bueo Chicken's Janghanpyeong-yeok branch sits on the ground floor of the Jangan Withersvill arcade — the building with the No Brand supermarket — between Janghanpyeong and Dapsimni stations, units 117 and 118. What sets it apart
- The pavement tables are the most common reason people come. Red tables go out on the walkway, and because it faces the main road the view opens up — one writer arrived to a pink sunset. The same writer's one complaint was the traffic noise that comes with a roadside table. For quiet, the room inside is the better bet. It depends on the weather: one party moved indoors for rain, another moved outdoors when the evening turned fine.
- A 300cc glass of draught costs two thousand won, and that figure does not move once between May and December 2025. One writer likes the smaller pour: a half-litre is often more than they want. Another got through six glasses between two people. One notes the glasses are kept in the fridge, and one took draught home — poured into a 500 measure, still foaming when opened at the kitchen table. There is soju, bottled beer, cheongha and dark beer; one writer spotted Hoegaarden, Kozel and an alcohol-free option.
- Write the receipt review and you get the owner's omakase — the shop's word for it, meaning you do not find out what until it arrives. Every writer got something different: chips, a chicken salad on lettuce and onion that one found unexpectedly large for a freebie, a blowtorched tomato, a drink. One explains the QR code on the wall that takes you to the Naver review.
- There is nearly always something off. Collect your order yourself and the price drops — though by how much has changed: every 2025 post says two thousand won, a September 2026 post says five. Between mid-November and the end of December 2025, spending over a hundred thousand in the room took ten per cent off, and two writers confirm it stacked with the collection discount. Each new item gets a launch run: the gangjeong set went from ₩26,000 to ₩23,500, with a fortune cookie that always won something, from a large boneless gangjeong down to four nuggets. On the hottest days of the year a chicken came with six free nuggets. Several writers note the offers apply whether you eat in, collect or have it delivered. Two mention Seoul Pay and Zero Pay being accepted.
- It is also a place people collect from. Seven of the twenty-two visits were pickups. Three writers rang ahead or ordered through Naver and waited for nothing — one browsed the menu online half an hour before setting off. Three say the crust was still crisp by the time they got home. One puts it down to the six or seven apartment blocks nearby and the steady stream of people collecting; another watched the delivery scooters coming and going. One asked for their leftovers to be boxed at the table and got them back neatly packed.
- The owner talks you through it. One writer was told to dust the seasoning on first and dip afterwards; another had 'sweet' and 'hot' written on the box so they could tell which half was which — they say they would not have known otherwise; another had the two halves plated separately. One who ordered wrong had the seasoning bagged for them instead. Four mention a sweet handed over on the way out. One was told, at the table, that the new item had gone on sale that very day.
- The origin of the chicken is posted in the room — one writer says it is set out in detail by the kitchen, another that the bone-in birds are Korean. One puts the absence of any off smell down to that.
- Dogs are welcome at the outside tables. One writer records the notice to that effect and adds that they saw people sitting out there with theirs. Nobody says anything about the room indoors.

The accounts of parking disagree, and the most recent one is the least certain. Several 2025 posts say two hours free in the arcade's underground car park, but most of those are copied header lines. Two writers actually parked: one describes coming up from the basement to the ground floor and adds that eating in the room gets you a two-hour voucher; the other, out with a child, checked the parking first and found room to spare. But a September 2026 post says there is no notice about parking in the shop and advises ringing before you go. We cannot tell whether the arrangement ended or that writer simply missed it. Everyone else came by bus or on foot. If you are driving, call first.

Not one writer says whether you can get in. Across all twenty-two visits the words wheelchair, pushchair, step, threshold and ramp never appear. Several place it on the ground floor of the arcade with the underground car park connected to the building, but nobody says whether there is a step at the door, or how you reach the outside tables. That is not a no; it is us not knowing. If it matters, ring ahead.

Of the 23 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Nobody writes about the toilets either — not whether they are inside the shop or shared with the arcade, not whether they are separated by sex. That is so even though this is a place people drink in until three in the morning. If you plan to settle in for the evening, it is worth looking for yourself.
- The hours have changed twice in two years — this is not disagreement, it is change. Thirteen posts from May to July 2025 all give the same thing: three in the afternoon until three in the morning on weekdays, one in the afternoon at weekends, closed Mondays. Five posts from December 2025 have it shutting an hour earlier, at two, with the Monday closure gone and Mondays opening at five instead; one adds that Friday and Saturday still run to three. A single post from September 2026 has it opening later still, at four, with Mondays at five. Three figures do not fit: one July 2025 post says two in the afternoon to eleven at night, which matches nothing before or after it; and of the three posts giving a last order, they say half past two in the morning, half past one in the morning, and half past eight in the evening — the last of which is hard to square with a shop that runs to three. If you are going late, ring first. Six of the twenty-two posts give the number, and all six agree: 02-2216-7457.
- Sixteen posts from June and July 2025 went up together, timed to a new menu item. The same phrases travel between them word for word: the price cut from ₩26,000 to ₩23,500 until the end of June, the thousand won for half and half, the fortune cookie that always wins, the owner's omakase, the comparison of the heat to fire noodles. Only two declare a sponsorship — one says they were picked for a tasting panel, one carries an #ad at the very end. We did not drop them from the count: all sixteen record what they ordered and what it cost, who they went with, and what fell short. We simply did not treat the travelling sentences as evidence. Bear it in mind when reading prices, too — because the posts bunch here, only one of them gives a price for the plain fried and sauced chicken this chain is actually known for.
- Writers do not agree on how big it is. Several call the room large, note more tables on the far side, or count several tables for four. One says instead that the room itself is snug but the tables are set well apart, adding that pushing them together would do for a group. If you need a big table, ring ahead. Several confirm groups are taken. Two mention comfortable seating: sofa-style benches, and cushions that make it easy to stay a while.
- Nor on the size of the bird. Some say it is big and meaty, that they expected leftovers and had none, that one feeds two or three. One writer says the opposite: the bone-in bird looks small to them, maybe a size six or seven, a modest thing. That writer also notes the pieces were cut small because it was gangjeong — it may differ by item, but we could not confirm that.
- The walk from the station is given differently in nearly every post. The commonest figure, in four of them, is 819 metres and about ten minutes from exit 2 at Janghanpyeong. But one says two or three minutes from exit 3, one says five, one says eight. Two or three minutes does not square with 819 metres. The most concrete account comes from someone who took the bus: three stops from exit 2, then two minutes on foot from the Dong-a/Withersvill stop. Two place it between Dapsimni and Janghanpyeong; four say the No Brand supermarket in the same building made it easy to find.
