TANJYU
탄주 Tanju Tanju is written 炭酒, charcoal and liquor — the house grills yakitori over charcoal to go with drinks.

Tanju's Express Bus Terminal branch is a yakitori izakaya in the basement of Banpo Shopping Town building 2 (the one with the LG Electronics store on the ground floor), a short walk from exit 8-1 of Express Bus Terminal station. You order charcoal-grilled chicken skewers as a set (from September 2026, 13,500 won for four, 20,500 won for six) or one at a time (3,500 won for meat, 2,000 won for vegetables), alongside Chinese-style fried eggplant (13,000 won), Nagasaki champon hot pot (26,000 won) and Asahi on draft (8,000 won). Skewers come grilled from the kitchen and sit on a small brazier at your table; ten posts say you order by scanning a QR code. Most evenings there is live jazz from a piano stage. A second branch operates separately in building 8 nearby. We read 29 posts from February to October 2026, 23 of them written after actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Expect to wait in the evening. Ten posts say they waited: about ten minutes behind three or four groups at 8 pm on a Saturday, under thirty minutes behind four groups at 6 pm on a Sunday, thirty to forty minutes on a Friday evening, and five minutes at 5:10 pm on a Sunday. Three posts describe writing your name on a paper list at the door and sitting on the chairs outside. One post walked straight in late on the Thursday that opened the Chuseok holiday.
- Seven posts booked through Naver. One says reservations run only until 6:30 pm; another arrived at 5:10 pm to find every empty table already reserved, and one booked yet still saw a very long waiting list. One post says the opposite — walk-in only.
- Ten posts heard the live jazz. The restaurant is split into two rooms across a corridor and the piano stage is in only one, so several posts note you can't see the band from the other side. Three posts found it loud — one moved across the corridor because conversation was impossible — and one called it quiet.
- Four posts found the skewers salty and two did not. Posts suggest beer alongside if you're sensitive to salt.
3 more
- The side dish named most often is the Chinese-style fried eggplant. Seven of the nine posts that ordered it describe a crisp coating over soft eggplant; one compares it favourably to candied sweet potato.
- Six posts got a croquette or a small draft beer for joining the Naver review event.
- Two posts say food came slowly when the room was full: the grilled rice ball took twenty minutes or more, and skewers arrived only after the starters were finished.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | 14 of 22 posts |

Fourteen posts describe going down into the basement of Banpo Shopping Town building 2. One notes there is no underground link from the station, another warns that the shopping block right outside exit 8-1 is the wrong one, and one walked around the building before finding the entrance.
No one wrote about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — that means we don't know, not that there is none. Two posts mention taking stairs down; the line about a central elevator only appears in copied listing text, so we don't rely on it.
The only toilet information is two copied info lines saying it is in the building, separate by gender; no one described using it, so we don't know whether it's inside the restaurant.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Three things changed. Jazz nights were Thursday to Saturday, 8–11 pm in posts from February, April and May 2026, and Wednesday to Saturday, 7:30–9:10 pm from late August (one October post still says Thursday to Saturday). Yakitori sets went from three/five/seven kinds to four/six/eight around September. The Asahi glass is listed as 430ml earlier and 410ml from September. The restaurant has not moved.
- We can't say whether prices went up: the sets changed so there's no like-for-like comparison, and draft beer stayed at 8,000 won. For a whole meal, one post paid 55,000 won for the two-person set (plus two bottles of sake) and another spent 130,000 won for three on skewers and sides. Three posts call it good value; none call it expensive.
- Twelve posts copy the same hours, 5 pm to 12:30 am, and seven give last order at 11:30 pm. The restaurant's own October 2026 post differs on closing — open until 24:30 with drinks last order at midnight. No post mentions a regular day off.
- Seven posts list the phone number 0507-1463-0857. Everyone who booked did so through Naver; no one mentions booking by phone.
