Banpo Galbi

반포갈비 Banpo is the neighbourhood around the Express Bus Terminal where the shop sits, in the Banpo Shopping Town building; galbi means ribs — here mostly beef rib cuts grilled over charcoal.

Compiled from 6 blog posts read in fullSources →

Banpo Galbi is a charcoal beef-and-rib house in the first basement of Banpo Shopping Town building 4, right outside Exit 8-2 of Express Bus Terminal station. The signature order is the Banpo Galbi platter — 450 g of three beef rib cuts with a beef doenjang stew — and all six posts had it; two each added marinated pork king ribs and water-dropwort cold noodles. We read 6 posts from March to October 2026: 2 disclosed sponsorship, 1 said they paid themselves, 3 said nothing.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Four posts say the building is right outside Exit 8-2 of Express Bus Terminal station. One warned that it's not in the station's underground mall — you go up and out, then down into the shopping-town basement.
  2. Four posts call the room large. One counted about nineteen four-seat tables, four of them in a separate area; another had a party of about twenty at the next table. Three posts found it clean — one specifically noted tables that weren't sticky and a floor that wasn't slippery.
  3. The two posts that mention waiting disagree. A June 2026 diner with a 6:30 pm booking saw the room fill by 7 and the waiting seats out front full on the way out; a March weekday visitor at about 8 pm walked straight in. Two posts booked ahead.
  4. You can bring your own: one post brought red wine and says the first bottle is corkage-free, then ₩10,000 per bottle after that. Another post simply copied the 'free corkage' line from the menu.
2 more
  1. Ordering is self-service — a tablet on the table in an October 2026 post, a kiosk in an August post.
  2. Four posts said it isn't expensive for the quality, one adding that this is a pricey neighbourhood. Two of those four were sponsored.

Two posts point to the shopping town's surface lot behind the building. The '₩5,000 an hour, free after 8:30 pm' figure was copied from a listing; no post describes actually parking there.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

In a basement5 of 6 posts

It's underground: five posts walked down one flight of stairs to the first basement, and one said the shop sits right at the foot of the stairs. Three posts remarked that, basement or not, there was no lingering smoke or meat smell.

Every post that describes the entrance went down stairs; nobody mentioned a lift, ramp or doorstep. We don't know whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in.

No post says where the toilets are or whether they're separated by gender — that's unknown, not absent.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • The platter price differs in each post that gives one: ₩65,000 in June 2026, ₩69,000 in September, ₩56,000 in a sponsored October post. We can't tell whether the price moved or someone got it wrong.
  • Only two posts say who they went with — one with in-laws, one with a partner. Many suggest it for office dinners, but none actually went as a group; we don't know how it suits friends or solo diners.
  • Five posts give the same hours — daily 12:00–23:00, last order 21:50 — mostly copied from the listing. None mentions a closing day.
  • Four posts list the phone number as 0507-1378-2071. One says bookings go through Naver, with separate weekday and weekend booking pages.
  • The two sponsored posts (August and October 2026) share the same hashtag block and look like one campaign. Claims such as a 'world food master' ageing award are the shop's own promotion, repeated by bloggers, and we don't rely on them.
