SOBB
소브 Sobeu One post reads SOBB as 'Sense of Balance + Bakery'; the name itself is a coined word, and the posts describe it as the Seoul outpost of the Jeju brunch café Wiee.
Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →
A café and brunch house at Itaewon-ro 27-gil 101, up the hill below the Grand Hyatt. Posts describe two rooms: a coffee house on the left of the entrance for bread and coffee (07:30-17:00 according to copied notices) and a brunch and dining room on the right. In the coffee house people paid 6,500 won for an americano, 8,000 won for a matcha latte and 5,500 won for a cinnamon roll; on the brunch side, 23,000 won for the Jeju squid and hijiki pasta and 17,000-18,000 won for open toasts. We read 30 posts from 20 September 2025 to 11 October 2026; 29 describe a visit. The claim that it was opened by the owner of Jeju's Wiee is hearsay repeated across posts, so we don't rely on it.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Take the bus rather than walking from the subway. Eight posts found it reachable by public transport, most by getting off at the Grand Hyatt stop and walking down — one took the Yongsan 03 bus from Samgakji and walked six minutes. Those who walked up from Itaewon Station describe a steep climb ('they say 15 minutes, but prepare for a hike'); four posts left the question open.
- Posts split 8 to 7 on whether it is roomy, and the split follows the room. All eight that called it spacious sat on the brunch and dining side; six of the seven that called it small sat in the coffee house, which one post put at 'barely ten pyeong'. The coffee house is described as one large shared triangular table plus a few two-seat tables by the window.
- A dog-friendly house: nine posts came with a dog or noticed dogs inside. One mentions hooks for clipping leads, another that staff brought water for the dog, and one was handed a pet notice with the menu saying food is served uncovered and you must accept that.
- The arched picture windows let in a lot of sun; eight posts mention it. One warns not to sit by the window in summer, another that more traffic passes outside than you'd expect.
2 more
- Expect a wait at brunch time and on weekends. Five posts waited: 20 minutes on a weekend afternoon, 38 minutes on a Sunday via CatchTable's remote queue, and one friend who held a spot for over an hour. Three got straight in — around 2 pm and after 3 pm on weekends, and one who simply said it was easy. Posts say both rooms take queue sign-ups on CatchTable.
- You can watch the baking and the coffee being made: five posts mention the glass-walled bakery at the back of the hall or the brewing visible from the bar seats.

Parking
1 posts say you can park; 1 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

Parking is unclear. The '5,000 won per 90 minutes, very tight' line is copied from notices. Of those who drove, one used a public lot and then found a lot right above the café (customers only, during café hours), one says there is no dedicated parking and uses the community centre, and one found nowhere to park. Another parked at the Hyatt.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 1 of 28 posts |
|---|
No post says which floor the café is on or whether the entrance is at street level — not that it isn't, just that nobody wrote it down. One post climbed the stairs beside the entrance to an upper seating area.
Nobody mentions a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. Two posts, apparently from one party, came in by a side entrance down a flight of stairs; we don't know about the main door. The post written by someone who came with a daughter says nothing about a pushchair.
Only one post mentions toilets — apparently two, one by the café entrance and one by a back door — without settling whether they're inside the premises. Nobody says whether they're separate by gender.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Portions lean small: four posts say so (toasts 'smaller than expected', two pastries still felt light), while one couple left full.
- Service is mixed: two posts found staff kind (asking whether to serve ice cream on the side, bringing water for a dog), one found them not especially friendly, and another got a drink back with only the dog hair picked off.
- Five posts call it pricey. The squid and hijiki pasta went from 22,500 won in a March 2026 post to 23,000 won from a June visit on. No post totals a brunch bill; one coffee-house receipt for a latte, an americano and a cinnamon roll came to 19,000 won.
- Opening hours are almost all copied from Instagram or map listings. Most 2026 posts give 07:30-22:00, closed Tuesdays; one visitor confirmed the coffee house shuts at 17:00 with last orders at 16:00. A September 2025 post from just after opening lists Tuesday and Wednesday closures and a 23:00 close, a February 2026 post says the first Wednesday of each month, and the wine bar's closing time (22:00 or 23:00) and brunch start (10:00 or 10:30) vary between posts. Check before going.
- Only one post gives a phone number (0507-1474-5881). Several mention booking through CatchTable; one phoned to cut a four-person brunch booking to three, noting brunch bookings normally start at four people.
