Sunday Arvo
선데이아보 Seondei Abo Sunday arvo is Australian slang for a Sunday afternoon — the 'arvo' is afternoon, not avocado.

Sunday Arvo is a small Australian-style brunch café in a white building at the top of the hill above Gyeongnidan-gil, on Hoenamu-ro 13-gil in Itaewon. The dish people come for is the mushroom benedict (16,000 won), a poached egg on a big portobello cap instead of bread; 11 of the 24 visits ordered it. Next come the classic benedict (bacon 16,000, salmon 18,000), egg in hell (14,000, plus 4,000 for pasta) and a bacon-jam grilled cheese toast (14,000). One couple paid 50,000 won for two mains, a soup and two drinks. We read 30 posts from February 2025 to October 2026; 24 describe a visit, and only one of those dates from 2025. We set aside 3: two were about the same-name Yaksu branch and one about a neighbouring café.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Weekend lunch means a queue. Eight posts waited or saw a line; six walked straight in. The waits given were one group ahead, about 20 minutes, 10–20 minutes, and 'until a table left'. One family arrived at opening and found a line by the time the food came. You write your number and party size at the counter and are called back, and the whole party must be present. Two of the six who sat straight away said they only just made it — one got the last table.
- There is somewhere to wait out front: five posts mention chairs or a bench outside. One called it a photo spot but warned there is no shade and to bring a parasol.
- Seating is tight. All six posts that counted tables found four or five — including one exact tally of three four-tops and a two-seat window bar. Four posts mention a 90-minute limit (one says it applies only at weekends or busy times) and two mention a one-dish-per-person rule.
- There is a bar counter along the window, and the big windows are sometimes opened right up. Seven posts mention the window or the light; one said the window seat felt almost like sitting outdoors, another described an open view over Itaewon. Four posts call it quiet.

- Many writers find it on the salty side: seven posts say so, mostly about the bacon-jam toast and the egg in hell. One said the seasoning was stronger than expected; only one post found the egg in hell just right. Six posts mention sweetness, mostly the sweet-salty bacon jam.
- Two posts came with children. One checked by Instagram DM that there was a high chair, then went with her young nieces and nephews and found one. The other brought two six-year-olds and sat inside because the window seats were taken. Nobody mentions how many high chairs there are or a changing table.

Parking
1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

There appears to be no parking at the café. One post says so and used the Itaewon 2-dong public car park nearby; two posts drove (one spent time hunting for a space). 'No parking' also appears in many copied info blocks, which we did not count. One post describing a space right below the shop looks like it was about the Yaksu branch, so we set it aside.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 23 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 1 of 23 posts |
Only one post says which floor. The registered address says basement level 1, but that writer found the sign on the ground floor of the white building at the top of the steps, with a wine bar upstairs. The posts do not explain the mismatch.
No one reports getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. Three posts mention steps on the way up, and one specifically warns stroller users and anyone with bad knees. One also notes a step between the tiled floor inside and the wooden deck by the window. Nobody says whether there is a threshold at the door or a lift — that is unknown, not absent.
One post says the toilet is inside the shop; that is all we have. Nobody mentions whether it is separated by gender or how big it is.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Expect a climb: 17 of the 24 visits mention the hill, slope or steps. Two posts came by bus (one says it is a five-minute walk from the nearest stop) and one walked up from Noksapyeong station. The '910 m from exit 2' figure is copied listing data.
- Opening hours come only from copied info blocks. Five posts agree on 10:00–18:00 on weekdays and 09:00–19:00 at weekends, and four of them give Tuesday as the day off; four give last orders at 17:00. Two posts from February–March 2026 list only 10:00–18:00 with Tuesdays closed and no weekend hours. One post says 10:00–20:00 daily and another 09:00–18:00 with Saturdays to 19:00. Several posts say irregular closures are announced on Instagram.
- Prices come from menus quoted in posts: mains 14,000–18,000 won, drinks 3,500–7,000 won. Two October 2026 posts disagree on the tomato-basil ade (6,000 vs 7,000). A delivery order paid 17,000 won for the bacon-jam toast, against 14,000 in the shop. Opinions on value split: one writer found it very reasonable for Itaewon, another said the mushroom benedict alone left her hungry for the price, and three posts found portions small.
- Two posts give the phone number 010-6278-0336; one gives 0507-1367-2381. Nobody says whether reservations are taken — one writer asked a question by Instagram DM and then walked in without booking.
- There was a separate Yaksu branch under the same name (Dongho-ro 17-gil 13, Jung-gu); one June 2026 post says it has closed. That concerns the other shop, not this one. We excluded two posts that appear to be about the Yaksu branch.
