Pizzeria O

핏제리아오 경리단길점 Pitjeriao Gyeongnidan-gil-jeom Pizzeria O — the branch on Gyeongnidan-gil of a Neapolitan wood-fired pizza chain whose first shop is in Daehangno; its chef won a pizza championship in Rome in 2019, and every post here repeats it.

Pizzeria O Gyeongnidangil is a Neapolitan wood-fired pizzeria on the second floor of a building with a GS25 downstairs, about ten minutes uphill from Noksapyeong station along Gyeongnidan-gil. Nearly every post repeats that the chef, Lee Jin-hyung, took first place at a pizza world championship in Rome in 2019, and that this is where the singer Kyuhyun learned to make wood-fired pizza for the TV show Kang's Kitchen. It is a branch; the original shop is in Daehangno. Around fifteen pizzas, plus pastas, salads and fried squid. The inner window wall and the terrace look out at Namsan Tower, and many writers say that is why they came. You order from a tablet at your table and help yourself to pickles, honey, hot sauce and balsamic from a self-serve bar. The posts we read run from February 2025 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. That the room is big is the single most repeated observation here, and nobody says otherwise. Two writers try to quantify it — "more than twenty tables", "plenty of seats" — and they broadly agree. What the space buys them recurs too: tables set far enough apart to eat in comfort, families nearby whose children were audible but not loud, and enough long tables that several writers say they would bring a group.
  2. People come here for the tower. Three writers say they were looking for a view of Namsan at sunset and found the restaurant second. The window tables go first through booking: one writer asked for one in her reservation notes and still found all three already marked reserved, and another found nearly every table reserved on arrival. But the people who got the view do not all agree it was worth it — one says the view and the atmosphere fell short of what she expected, and another, having booked specifically for it, found the room half empty.
  3. Nobody in twenty-two first-hand posts queued. Seven say explicitly that they did not wait, and none say they did — on a Saturday noon, a Saturday afternoon, a Sunday afternoon, an early weekday evening and a late one. One writer braced herself for a wait and walked straight in. Note the distinction, though: empty is not the same as unreserved. Several posts describe the window and terrace tables already held by bookings while the main floor sat open.
  4. This is a place people book. Eight writers reserved through Naver, and two point out that you can request a specific table in the booking notes. One records being able to pre-order and still change the order on arrival — useful, she says, on a tight schedule; another booked two days ahead without difficulty; a third notes that parties of twenty or more have to phone.
  5. You do not call anyone over. Seven writers describe ordering from a tablet at the table — one adds that each dish has a photo and a full description, another that she never needed to flag a server down. Pickles, honey, hot sauce, balsamic, parmesan and olive oil come from a self-serve bar. Two writers still mention the staff, and one of them records a server coming over to explain how to eat the star-shaped pizza.
  6. Eight writers say they will come back and none say they will not; one leaves it open, saying it was good but she is not sure she would return. What pulls them back differs: one would come for the ricotta salad alone, one to re-order the calzone that arrives with the caesar, one to try a different pizza, one to see the night view she missed. Only one post records actually having come back — retracing, on an anniversary, the route of a first date.
  7. The drinking here is one beer: Stella on draught. Six writers had it and all six had it with pizza — one says beer-and-pizza is her thing, another that she expects to still love a daytime beer when she is a grandmother. One writer had house wine by the glass and did not record the price. Soju and makgeolli appear nowhere. The only alcohol anyone priced is the draught beer, at 9,000 won.
  8. Two writers noticed who was sitting around them. In September 2026: everyone else in the room was a foreigner, each minding their own meal. In November 2025: the long reserved table turned out to be a tour group, and between Itaewon, the pizza and the other diners she felt she was eating abroad. Two people, a year apart, noticing the same thing.
  9. The landmark is a GS25. Seven posts place the restaurant on the second floor and three of them navigate by the same convenience store downstairs. Two mention climbing stairs to it. Four walked up from Noksapyeong station — Gyeongnidan-gil is a hill — but their sense of the distance varies from eight to fourteen minutes. Three note that it is closer coming down from the Grand Hyatt Seoul; one of them walked down and took the Yongsan 03 community bus back up.

Parking

1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 21 posts

Nine posts talk about parking. Exactly one writer parked a car, and she did not park at the restaurant: in November 2025 she left it at the Itaewon 2-dong public car park and notes the shop does not validate it. Of the remaining eight, six are lines in a block of copied listing information — one of them says so outright, crediting the Naver map entry. Those six do not even agree with each other: four say free parking in the building's basement, one says about six first-come spaces under the building's pilotis. And one writer, in her own words rather than a copied block, wrote in September 2025 that there is no parking and that a paid lot nearby is easier. We cannot tell which of these is true now.

Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.

Getting inside

Second floor7 of 21 posts
Toilet inside1 of 21 posts

Nobody looked. Seven posts say the restaurant is on the second floor and one describes climbing the stairs to it. Wheelchairs appear in exactly one post, in a table at the top listing "wheelchair accessible (by lift)" among ten other amenity lines lifted from the Naver listing — and the body text about the lift connecting the basement car park so that wheelchair and pushchair users can visit easily reads as that same table written out. We did not count it. Where the lift actually is, and whether there is a step at the second-floor entrance, appears nowhere in twenty-two posts.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 7 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two writers say the window glass is cloudy — which matters in a room people come to for a view. In September 2026: the glass was not clean and the insect screen made it hard to see the tower sharply or photograph it. In April 2025: hazy, with runnels down it, so that seeing the tower drew no gasp. Eighteen months apart, the same complaint. Separately, one writer noticed a smell from the toilet drifting into the room now and then and advises sitting further inside; one other writer calls the room clean.
  • Only two posts mention the toilet at all: one (January 2026) says it is inside the restaurant and that this is convenient; one (March 2025) says a smell from it reached the tables now and then and advises sitting further in. Whether it is separated by sex, how many stalls there are, whether there is an accessible stall — nobody wrote any of it down.
  • The opening hours do not line up. Ten posts give the same core — every day 11:30 to 22:00, last orders 21:00 — and the disagreement is over the afternoon break. Four say weekdays (Mon–Thu) 15:00 to 16:30; one says there is no break at all (that post has no record of anyone eating and was excluded from our count); one gives the break without saying which days. One outlier opens at 10:00. And a writer who went on 30 August 2026 was told the restaurant was not opening at weekends, but that they were thinking of doing so from September — while posts on either side of that say it opens daily. We cannot say which is current. Check before you go.
  • Not one post declares a sponsorship. Five go the other way and say outright that they paid — one posts the receipt. The other seventeen say nothing. One of those seventeen credits three of its photographs to the restaurant ("image provided by the business") without calling the post sponsored: the menu shots and some of the food came from the shop. Separately, three posts record getting something off the price — a zero cola for joining the in-store review promotion, a soft drink offered for writing a Google review, and four draught beers bought on a two-for-one.
  • One writer brought a dog and was shown to the terrace — and she is the one telling you to check: "it was allowed when I went, but you should check before you visit" (March 2026). Two other posts list pets as allowed, but both are copied amenity blocks, so we did not count them.
  • High chairs, vegan options and corkage all come from copied listings. Two posts list high chairs and one lists vegan dishes, all inside blocks lifted from the Naver entry — nobody sat a child in a high chair or ordered a vegan dish. On corkage, two say it is allowed for a fee and one says it is free; the last of those is a copied line too. What writers did see for themselves is families: several mention them, one describes children's birthday parties in the room, another a family celebrating a child's birthday at the next table.
  • Thirty posts came in and eight went out, leaving twenty-two — and twenty-two people, since no blog appears twice. One was removed from the list entirely: a round-up of ten year-end party venues in Seoul, in which the Pizzeria O listed is the original shop in Daehangno, not this branch. The other seven are about this restaurant but record no visit. Four are neighbourhood round-ups of ten or twenty restaurants (one states in its own text that it was assembled by automated collection). One copies fifteen lines of the menu off the website and adds a photo of the exterior. Two are pure promotional write-ups with no dish, no price and no meal. One of those two opens with the words "my second visit here" — and we still excluded it: it names a risotto the restaurant does not serve, and says there is no afternoon break, which the people who actually ate there contradict.
