KOREA PUB

코리아호프 Koria Hopeu Hof (호프) is the Korean word for a beer hall, borrowed from the German Hof, so the name reads simply as 'Korea Beer Hall'.

Compiled from 8 blog posts read in fullSources →

Korea Hof is a beer hall on the second and third floors of Itaewon-ro 19-gil 9, near exit 1 of Itaewon station. The second floor is an indoor room overlooking Itaewon's main street; the third is a rooftop. People come for fried chicken and draft beer: of nine posts that actually ate here, six ordered the old-style fried chicken and two the fruit chicken. Prices quoted in September-October 2026 posts: 22,900 won for a whole fried chicken, 30,900 won for fruit chicken (31,900 won half-and-half), 16,900 won for soupy tteokbokki with fritters, 5,900 won for 500 ml of Cass draft. We read 30 posts dated 19 April to 16 October 2026; nine record a real visit. Eight posts from 19-20 April follow one template word for word with no meal in them, so we did not count them. Of the nine visits, one says it was paid, one says it got a meal voucher, and seven say nothing.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Talk about seating centres on the second-floor windows. Six of the eight posts that described the space say the floor-to-ceiling glass looks straight down onto Itaewon's main street. A May post found the folding doors thrown open to the breeze, a September post says the same when the glass is opened, and an October post notes high stools and a bar counter lined up along the window.
  2. Six of the eight posts that covered extras mention board games, usually alongside darts and beer pong. A September writer says you can take games to your table freely; a May writer found arcade and table-football machines by the entrance.
  3. Games are on screen. Four posts watched sport while drinking: baseball in two, football in one, and a big sports screen in another. One September writer says the TVs can be seen from every side of the room.
  4. Six of the eight posts that described the food call the batter crisp. One October writer tasted the fritters that came with the tteokbokki and switched to a whole plain fried chicken on the strength of them. One post found the portions large: two people could not finish a half-and-half fruit chicken and a 1.4-litre bucket cocktail.
4 more
  1. A free bar snack comes with drinks. Three posts mention it: puffed macaroni crackers in two, 'old-school snacks' in the third.
  2. Four posts went up to the third-floor rooftop. A May writer found it quiet in the early evening and larger than expected. The claims that awnings and heaters make it usable in rain and winter, and that there is a smoking room on the third floor, appear in identical wording across many posts as the shop's own blurb, so we did not count them.
  3. Five of the seven posts that described getting there say it is an easy walk from exit 1 of Itaewon station. One gives directions: go straight out of exit 1 and turn up the alley beside the Nike store.
  4. Among posts that said who they came with, four came with friends and one with a husband.

From the station

Five of the seven posts that described getting there say it is an easy walk from exit 1 of Itaewon station. One gives directions: go straight out of exit 1 and turn up the alley beside the Nike store.

Getting inside

Second floor3 of 8 posts

The bar occupies the second and third floors, and three posts sat on the second. Nobody said whether there is a basement level.

Only one post described the way in: you climb a flight of stairs from the entrance to the second floor. Nobody mentioned a lift, a step at the door, or arriving with a wheelchair or pushchair. That means we don't know, not that there isn't one.

No visitor described the toilets — whether they are inside the bar or split by gender. One September post's info block lists separate men's and women's toilets, but that is copied from the listing and we did not count it.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 17 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-04-206 posts in one day
2026-04-192 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Heat depends on the dish. Two posts found the tteokbokki and sauced chicken not spicy; one called the spicy chicken feet a fiery dish. Sweetness splits too: two posts call the chicken sauce sweet, one says it is not overly sweet.
  • No post reports waiting. One repeats the line that there may be a wait at peak times, but that comes from the shop's blurb, and a May writer found it quiet in the early evening. Nobody has written from experience about a queue — which is not the same as there being none.
  • Six posts give opening hours, all opening at 18:00. Closing time splits three to three: three posts (one from May 2026, two from September) say 02:00 Sunday to Thursday and 04:00 on Friday and Saturday; three (one each from May, September and October) say 02:00 every day. The split doesn't follow the dates. Five of the six simply copy the Naver listing, and no post mentions a closing day.
  • Only menu prices are given; no post totals what a visit cost. Two posts call it good value or cheap, judging from the menu. The April template posts push a Naver event coupon, but nobody reports using one.
  • Many posts copy the phone number 0507-1428-5484. None says it booked ahead; one September post only recommends booking for groups. We don't know whether phone reservations are taken.
  • Much of what's online is promotional. The eight posts from 19-20 April repeat the same sentences in the same order and paste in a review-count widget. The September-October visit posts also reuse the shop's blurb — the list of counter, bar, couple and solo seats, the 'house-developed recipe' line — and two share an identical string of hashtags. We counted only what writers say they saw themselves, not sentences that match the blurb.
