Casa Cuervo

카사쿠엘보 Kasa Kuelbo A tequila bar run by Jose Cuervo itself, spread over four floors of a yellow building beside Itaewon station.

Data as of · Published ·

Casa Cuervo occupies a whole yellow building a minute or two from Exit 1 at Itaewon station. It is run by the tequila company Jose Cuervo itself and opened in September 2025 — two writers were there for the first-anniversary party a year later. The basement and ground floor are a taqueria, the second floor a lounge and bar, the third a terrace. It opens at 5.30pm and closes at 3am, or 5am on Fridays and Saturdays. Tacos are ₩5,000–10,000 each and a quesadilla ₩15,000; one pair report paying ₩46,000 for three tacos and four cocktails. A free drink arrives when you walk in — six of the nine posts mention it. The posts we read run from January to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours

What sets it apart

  1. A drink arrives free when you come in — six of the nine mention it and five were handed one. What it is varies: two were given a coupon and chose between a margarita, a tequila highball and a paloma; one spent that coupon on a gin and tonic; one got a lukewarm fruity shot; and one describes a glass that was fluorescent in colour and in taste. Four writers also record food arriving free — three kinds of taco for being the first customers, a shrimp taco thrown in on the second round, a guacamole, and a handful of sweets at the end. But two of the six were there on the first-anniversary night, so the nine posts cannot settle whether this is standard or was laid on for the party.
  2. Six of the nine write about the staff. They are warm; one writer, nervous on her first trip to Itaewon, found them disarmingly so. Two accounts show it in practice: one had no idea which tequila to pick and was steered to the 1800 Añejo, and another, on bottle service, found her glass refilled every time it ran low. Not one of the nine has a complaint about the service.
  3. Two writers say that late on, more than half the room is foreign. One, there on a Saturday night, counted more foreigners than Koreans and wondered what the occasion was; another watched people smoking shisha. Three describe the music: upbeat pop with the odd K-pop track, DJs changing over through the night, and — from the one writer with anything critical to say about the place — that the Mexican playlist occasionally loses him.

Parking

3 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot3 of 9 posts

There is nowhere to park. Three posts raise it and all three say the same thing: one writes simply "parking: no," one "paid public car parks nearby," and one — the only writer who drove — names the Hannam-dong public car park as the one she always uses. Even she parks in the neighbourhood, not at the bar. It stays open until 3am, or 5am at weekends, so the way home is part of the question — one writer in nine addresses it, and reports walking to Noksapyeong station because no taxi would stop.

Getting inside

Second floor3 of 9 posts
In a basement1 of 9 posts
Toilet inside4 of 9 posts
Separate restrooms2 of 9 posts

The bar has the whole building, so which floor you sit on decides what kind of evening you are having. The basement and ground floor are a taqueria and a Mexican grocery; one writer climbed past a Day of the Dead altar on the stairs. The second floor holds the lounge and the main bar, high-ceilinged and glass-roofed — one writer compares it to an indoor botanical garden, and another reports that the roof opens. Half a flight above that is a smaller bar of its own. The third floor is the terrace. One writer counted the seating: booths, stepped seating, a long table, sofas, the bar, and single seats for people on their own.

Nobody writes about getting in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. Across nine posts the words wheelchair, pushchair, threshold and ramp never appear. What is certain is that you have to change floors — tacos in the basement and on the ground floor, the lounge and bar on the second, the terrace and rooms on the third, and one writer places the toilets on the second floor. Whether there is a lift, not one of the nine says. We are not going to guess.

Four of the nine mention the toilets. One places them inside, on the second floor; two say they are separated by sex; one calls them thoroughly Mexican and clean. A fourth noticed the sign and passed on the Spanish word for them. How many cubicles, and whether a queue forms late on, nobody says — which is a gap in a place that runs until 3am, or 5am at weekends.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 19 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-09-292 posts in one day
2026-09-202 posts in one day
2026-09-157 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • There are twenty-eight posts and we counted nine. The other nineteen come from one brief. Five marks give them away. (1) The same sentence repeats verbatim — seventeen of the nineteen carry the line about the 250-year-old global number one tequila brand and the world's first premium tequila lounge. (2) The floor-by-floor description appears in the same order in the same words, and one post copies a typo along with it. (3) Fifteen open their hashtags with the same four keyword phrases. (4) Seven went up on a single day, 15 September 2026. (5) Decisively: not one of the nineteen names a dish they ordered, and not one gives a price. One of them tags itself #sponsored at the very bottom — the only one that says so, and it tells you what the other eighteen are. Counting them would have turned nine into twenty-eight and trebled every number on this page.
  • By subway it is right there. Four writers give a distance — 69 metres, 79 metres, one minute, two minutes from Exit 1 — and one places it behind the Hamilton Hotel. That is very nearly everything we know about getting in. Nobody gives a bus number, counts the steps, or says whether the doorway is level. All nineteen excluded posts say "one minute from the station," but that is one line from one brief, not nineteen people who walked it.
  • It is entirely a question of when you go. Three writers give the clock. One arrived at seven and had the run of the place, then notes that from eight there were barely any seats left and you should get in early. One arrived at eight to a quiet room and found it heaving by midnight, the ground floor full. One came in as the doors opened, to silence. Nobody queued — indeed one group picked it out of a crowded Itaewon Saturday precisely because there was no line. Not one of the nine mentions booking.
  • We could not confirm the third-floor VIP room. Every single one of the nineteen excluded posts describes a wide terrace and a premium VIP room upstairs. Not one of the nine first-hand posts says they went into it. One gives the game away, writing that the second floor she visited "is said to have" a terrace and a VIP room. Two mention the terrace: one sat at an outdoor table, the other calls the terrace seats appealing. Nineteen repetitions of one brief are not the same as one person sitting down.
