Yukmi
육미 Yukmi is a Sino-Korean name that can be read as 'six flavours' or 'the taste of meat'; no post explains it, and the house mostly serves raw fish, seafood and skewers.

Yukmi is an old drinking-and-eating house in the Jongno 9-gil alley behind Jonggak Station, in Insa-dong. At lunch it serves rice dishes like mulhoe and grilled fish; in the evening, drinking food — thin-sliced flatfish, skewers, stews. One post paid ₩11,000 for lunch mulhoe with noodles and ₩10,000 for grilled mackerel in Aug 2026; two posts put a medium plate of flatfish sekkoshi at ₩35,000. We read 30 posts from Jan 2025 to Sep 2026. Twenty were about other places with 'Yukmi' in the name (a Yeouido grill, Yukmi Gotgan, Yukmian, the separate Yukmi Jjukkumi upstairs) and were set aside; of the 10 about this house, 7 describe an actual visit.

Rows without a count: 2 of 2 posts.
Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Two posts said portions were large: one found so much fish in the lunch mulhoe that they barely finished it; another said the steamed skate was generous even if not tasty.
- Two posts called it cheap and none called it expensive. One noted grilled mackerel with soup and rice for ₩10,000 — low for Jongno; the other said the value was good but the food wasn't, and wouldn't go back.
- Two posts treat it as a regular haunt — one says when the group gets together, it has to be Yukmi; another calls it the place you can always drop into for a second round. One post said it would not return.
- One post saw other diners helping themselves from a side-dish station, did the same, and was loudly told it wasn't self-service — there was no sign either way.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

| Separate restrooms | 1 of 5 posts |
No visitor wrote about which floor it's on; only the address says ground floor. A separate shop, Yukmi Jjukkumi, is upstairs in the same building — we did not count it.
Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair and stroller access. That means we don't know, not that it's a problem.
Only one post mentions the toilets: outside the restaurant, separate for men and women. One report is all we have.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 8 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Service splits one to one: one post was told to take a roomier table and felt at home; the other was scolded over the side dishes.
- Prices have gone up. The Aug 2025 menu had budae-jjigae at ₩18,000, salted mackerel at ₩9,000 and extra mulhoe broth at ₩6,000; a menu in a post from Aug 2026 shows ₩20,000, ₩14,000 and ₩7,000. That visit was undated ('a while ago'), so we can't say exactly when prices rose. The medium flatfish sekkoshi stayed at ₩35,000.
- Three posts give the same hours — Mon–Sat 11:00 to 01:00, Sun 11:00 to midnight — all copied into info boxes. None mentions a closing day or a mid-day break.
- No post describes waiting. One post's summary box says 'no wait', but we didn't count a box entry.
- Three posts went with friends, two of them as a second stop after dinner elsewhere. None went with family or alone.
- Two posts list the phone number 02-738-0122. Whether you can book is unclear — one summary box says no reservations, but nobody wrote about trying.
