Solsot Ikseon is a branch of a pot-rice chain at the far end of the Ikseon-dong hanok lanes in Jongno (46 Samil-daero 30-gil, ground floor). Rice comes in a single-serving iron pot: you scoop it into a bowl, pour hot broth over the crust left in the pot, and finish with that at the end — a card on each table explains the steps. On a September 2026 menu the pots run from ₩14,900 (cheese dakgalbi, pork and fernbrake, cockle) to ₩25,900 (freshwater eel); the steak pot most people ordered is ₩17,900. Side dishes, soup and a small yogurt come with every pot, several posts note. We read 30 posts dated 28 January to 6 October 2026; 13 of them describe eating at this branch. We set aside 9 that were about other Solsot branches or other restaurants.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Expect to wait at lunch and on weekends. Six posts waited and two walked straight in (one weekend lunch, one weekday). The waits they give are 10 minutes, 20 minutes (weekend, 1 pm), over 40 minutes (weekend lunch) and 1 hour 10 minutes. The longest wait came, that writer thought, because staff held empty tables to seat a party of eight at once instead of letting smaller groups in. Posts mention signing up on a tablet (CatchTable) outside, and one ordered at a kiosk before being seated.
- There is somewhere to sit while you wait: two posts mention seating by the entrance, one a yellow bench. A menu is posted outside, so you can choose while queuing.
- It is a small room. All seven posts that describe the inside say it is not spacious. One says even the two-seat tables are barely big enough for one; another had nowhere to put a bag or phone and dropped the phone off the table; one says the cramped space is why they won't return. Tables are mostly two-seaters, pushed together for bigger groups.
- Four posts noticed many foreign diners. The menu and the how-to-eat card come in several languages, posts say — though one writer noted staff never explained the white jug of hot water or how to eat, which they thought would confuse visitors.
2 more
- Four posts describe the seasoning as sweet — the steak pot's sauce, the eel glaze, a hint of sweetness in the salmon pot. One post said the steak pot can be salty yet called the food mild overall, so saltiness is unresolved. The warning that it 'may be salty' is printed on the table card, so we did not count it.
- One post got a free croquette (potato and corn) for a receipt review.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
No post describes which floor it is on from experience; only the address says ground floor. That means nobody wrote it down, not that it isn't so.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller got in; we only know the tables are close together.
No post mentions where the toilet is or whether it is split by gender.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 20 posts we gathered, 8 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Portions split opinion: one post found them generous, one said the steak pot was so small they rationed it, and one called the meat ample but wished for more steak.
- Two posts call the prices reasonable; one says the eel pot is a bit pricey but worth it. No post gives a full bill with sides or drinks, and no two posts disagree on a menu price.
- Opening hours changed over the period. Three posts from late June to early July 2026 list daily until 21:00 (last order 20:30); four from 27 July on list daily until 21:30 (last order 21:00). Six give 11:00 as opening, one 11:30. All of these are copied listing blocks; 'no break time' comes only from the sign out front and a copied block. No post mentions a closing day.
- One post walked about five minutes from Jongno 3-ga Station exit 3. Other posts give the distance (5 minutes, 245 m) only in copied listing blocks, which we did not count.
- The number 010-9960-7113 appears in two copied listing blocks. No post says whether phone reservations are taken; the queue runs on a tablet outside or CatchTable.
- Eight posts written without visiting — review-count rankings, auto-generated lists, a queue-app guide — quote figures like '40 to 100 minutes average wait'. They give no source, so we left them out of every count above.
