Ikseon Aetteut

익선애뜻 Ikseon is the neighbourhood, Ikseon-dong; the posts never explain aetteut, which reads like a play on aeteut, Korean for tender, wistful affection.

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

A fusion Korean place in a converted hanok deep in the Ikseon-dong alleys (24 Donhwamun-ro 11da-gil). The most-ordered dishes are the brisket-and-chive knife-noodle bibim (17,500 won, 20 of 22 visits), pork doenjang ssambap (16,000 won, 17), truffle corn cheese kimchi pancake (17,900 won, 12) and the bone-in beef short rib (33,000 won, 8); many couples shared three dishes between two. Nearly every post describes the small pebble-and-stone garden in front of the bar seats. We read 30 posts dated 21 September to 9 October 2026; 22 of them are visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect to wait at weekends. Nine posts queued — 30 minutes at Saturday lunch, 40 minutes, more than ten groups ahead at weekend opening time, more than ten groups forming just after 2 pm. The two posts that went at 5 and 5:30 pm on weekdays walked straight in. One post says seating time is limited when there is a queue.
  2. Most seats are side-by-side bar seats facing the garden, but not all. Five posts mention four-person tables as well, and two describe a room with two four-tops on the left. One writer found sitting shoulder to shoulder awkward at first and saw groups of four waiting for a four-top.
  3. Four posts mention baskets under the bar seats for bags — one describes them as bamboo boxes.
  4. Seven posts say the doenjang sauce is not salty; one of them found it too mild and was disappointed.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

Getting inside

Toilet inside3 of 22 posts

We do not know the floor layout from experience; '1st floor' appears only in the address.

No post mentions entering with a wheelchair or pushchair. One notes a small step at the entrance that made people stumble, and several describe a pebble-and-stepping-stone corridor.

Three posts place the toilet inside, next to the kitchen; two say it is a single unisex room, and one says it fits only one person.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-062 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Posts disagree on booking. One says you can reserve through CatchTable; two say there was no remote queue and they had to wait in line. Other mentions are copied info blocks we did not count.
  • Portions split opinion: three posts say three dishes left two people very full; one that shared two dishes found them a bit small.
  • Five posts walked from Jongno 3-ga station, but they cite exits 3, 4 or 6 and between two and five minutes on foot.
  • Five posts went as a couple and two with their mother; nobody wrote about going alone or in a large group.
  • Sixteen posts give opening hours as daily 12:00–20:40 (last order 20:00); one says 12:00–21:00. Most are copied info blocks rather than first-hand checks. Several say there is no afternoon break.
  • Prices match across posts (noodles 17,500 won, short rib 33,000 won); three dishes plus drinks for two came to roughly 50,000–70,000 won. Two posts found it pricey, one called it good value.
  • Nine posts list the phone number 0507-1457-4160, but nobody wrote about booking by phone.
  • The menu changes: late-September 2026 posts call the cold pork tteokbokki and matcha makgeolli new, and one notes the menu differed from the one on Naver Map.
  • Eight posts repeat nearly word for word that all tableware is ceramic, and walk through the pebble corridor, folding-screen ceiling and garden seats in the same order; we treat this as the house's own messaging and did not count it. One post discloses sponsorship and one was given a meal voucher.
