Momoya

모모야 Momoya reads as a Japanese shop name (momo, often 'peach', plus -ya, 'shop'); no post explains it.

Compiled from 11 blog posts read in fullSources →

A tonkatsu shop on the second floor of the Ichon Market arcade, a few minutes from Ichon Station exit 3-1, and the original branch of the Momoya chain. Tenderloin katsu is 16,000 won alone or 19,000 won as a set, loin-and-tenderloin 15,000 won, tonkotsu ramen 12,000 won (menus from August and September 2026), and many diners add a 4,000-won mini soba or udon. We read 30 posts from 11 May to 18 October 2026; 13 were about this shop and 11 describe eating here. The rest covered other branches, the Vietnamese place in the same building, museum trips, or a job ad.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Lunch brings a line. Five posts mention waiting: one waited about 40 minutes at lunch, and the other four were seated straight away (at 11:30 on a weekend, near 2 pm, or taking the last table) but saw a queue form behind them, in one case stretching down the stairs. One noted there was no wait at 11:30 but a line from noon.
  2. Six posts call the coating crisp and six call the meat thick. One post differed: on a busy weekend the underside was a little soggy. Several mention the heap of shredded cabbage that comes with each cutlet, and two refilled it.
  3. Three posts ordered and paid on a tablet or kiosk at the table. A museum employee who ate here over several months liked that the bill can be split, but said food takes a while when it is busy; another post said the food came quickly.

Getting inside

Second floor9 of 11 posts
Step-free accessyes 0 · no 1 (of 11 posts read)

The shop is up a flight of stairs on the second floor; nine posts describe climbing them. One says the entrance is on the market food-alley side rather than by the café below and is easy to miss, and another nearly walked past the small door. The stairwell is lined with signatures, which three posts identify as celebrities'.

We don't know whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. One post noted the second-floor stairs as a drawback and suggested takeaway for people who find stairs hard; nobody mentioned a lift or the entrance step.

We don't know where the toilet is or whether it is separated by gender; no post mentions it.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 13 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-072 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Ten posts give the same hours, 11:00 to 21:00 with a break from 14:30 to 17:30, mostly copied from listings. Seven say it closes on Mondays, while three say it opens every day; check before a Monday visit.
  • Only one post judged the price: compared with 11,000 to 14,000 won elsewhere, 16,000 to 17,000 won here felt clearly expensive. The single loin katsu price is listed as 16,000 won in August 2026 and 15,000 won on the September menu.
  • We don't know whether reservations are taken. Three posts list the phone number 02-798-9922, but none booked or joined a remote queue.
  • Four posts came with family and children; friends, a group of colleagues, a solo diner and a couple account for one each. Four posts found it easy by public transport, and two came by car.
