L'Amant Secret

라망 시크레 Ramang Sikeure L'Amant Secret is French for 'the secret lover' — the house leans into it with a menu card addressed to each guest and handed over in a red envelope.

Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →

L'Amant Secret is chef Son Jong-won's French tasting-menu restaurant on the 26th floor of L'Escape Hotel, 67 Toegye-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul. There is one seasonal course, booked through Catchtable; posts from March 2026 give 190,000 won for lunch and 290,000 won for dinner (January posts said 170,000 and 270,000). The meal opens with 'Petit L'Amant Secret', bites served before a pop-up book of the kitchen, and closes with lip-shaped 'Goodbye Kiss' chocolates, and several posts mention a madeleine handed over in a walnut-cake bag on the way out. We read 30 posts from 7 January to 9 October 2026; 12 describe an actual meal. Fifteen are Michelin or Seoul-100 lists and chef profiles that we kept as introductions only, and three hotel-stay posts were set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Getting a table is the hurdle. Ten of the 12 meal posts talk about booking, and four got in through Catchtable cancellations rather than the regular release. One post says the next month opens at 9 a.m. on the 1st, and another advises grabbing a four-person cancellation and phoning to reduce the party, since two-person slots rarely free up. A few days before, the restaurant calls to ask each diner's name, allergies and any occasion, and the name is printed on that day's menu card.
  2. Four posts were seated by the window. One had the best view of Namsan Tower, another could see as far as the 63 Building at lunch, while a third said Namsan was visible but hemmed in by buildings. One post notes that curtains and blinds come down after dark, changing the mood of the room.
  3. Six posts praise the service: chairs pulled out and plates finished at the table, a knife brought so two diners could share chocolates, the lift button pressed for them on the way out. The lettered celebration dessert is offered if you mention an occasion in advance, though two posts received it with no occasion at all.
  4. Five posts ordered wine. One was steered by the sommelier toward a bottle of white as better value, and another found the list fuller than at Eatanic Garden. Three posts give corkage as 100,000 won a bottle, and two brought their own champagne.

Posts saying you can park1 of 12 posts

Only one post drove, and had to go back up to the restaurant when parking validation failed because of a system error. The free three hours at lunch, four at dinner and 25,000 won valet are copied from the hotel's notice.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 3 (of 12 posts read)
Lift to the floor6 of 12 posts
Toilet inside2 of 12 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 12 posts

You get there by the hotel lift. Six posts rode it up to the 26th floor, two of them noting the announcements are in French. One warns that of the two entrances, you want the lift that comes out at the hotel lobby, not the one toward the police station. One post says doors open ten minutes before dinner service; another arrived earlier and waited outside.

No one says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in; we only know the hotel lift goes to the 26th floor. The rule barring children under eight is copied from the restaurant's notice in three posts.

Two posts place the restrooms inside the restaurant. One says they are to the left of the entrance flowers, separate for men and women, with Namsan Tower visible from the women's room; both called them clean.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 15 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-073 posts in one day
2026-10-062 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Sweetness comes up: two posts found the run of desserts too sweet by the end, though one of them said nothing else on the menu made the price feel wasted.
  • Only one post comments on spacing: a February lunch found the tables close together and the ceiling low. The 30-seat figure (24 in the room, 6 in a private room) is copied information; one spring post ate in a room borrowed from the bar next door.
  • Prices went up. Two January 2026 posts give 170,000 won for lunch and 270,000 for dinner; posts from March give 190,000 and 290,000, and one March post says prices had just risen. Three posts note a 105,000 won supplement for the caviar-and-egg dish, and wine or corkage adds more. One post got 20% off with a Club Chosun membership.
  • No one describes actually walking from the station; the 'one minute from Hoehyeon Station exits 6 and 7' line is copied from listings.
  • No post mentions queuing. One listing says it is reservation-only with no walk-in wait, but no diner wrote about it either way.
  • Ten posts give the same opening hours, Tuesday to Saturday 12:00-15:00 and 18:00-22:00, closed Sunday and Monday, but all copy the official notice. Only one gives last orders, 13:30 at lunch and 19:30 at dinner.
  • Several posts give the phone number as 02-317-4003. Reservations go through Catchtable only; posts mention phone calls for changing party size or confirming allergies.
  • The course changes each season: a February post describes winter (monkfish, duck), May-June posts spring, August-September posts summer (melon salad, pomfret, duck), and posts around October autumn (pine mushroom, blue lobster). Dishes named here may not be on the current menu.
