A seolleongtang and black-pork restaurant on a side street off Opaesan-ro 1-gil in Hawolgok-dong, Seongbuk-gu, a five- or six-minute walk from Exit 2 of Wolgok Station. By day it serves 10,000-won ox-bone soup (15,000 won large), stone-pot bibimbap and stews; in the evening, black-pork belly and neck at 19,000 won per 180 g and boiled-meat hot pot. We read 9 posts dated January 2025 to October 2026; 4 were not about this place. The remaining 5 all describe a visit, and all fall within two weeks, 30 September to 14 October 2026. Four ate the soup, one grilled pork.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Side dishes are self-serve refills. Three posts mention refilling, one of them twice, noting a separate pair of tongs for each dish. The line-up varied between posts — braised tofu, cubed radish kimchi, fresh kimchi and cucumber salad in one, kimchi with water parsley salad in another — and one poster guessed the sides change from visit to visit.
  2. Three posts said the soup comes loaded with noodles and meat; one remarked on how much beef a 10,000-won bowl held and that the rice bowl was packed full.
  3. Three posts called the prices reasonable and none called them high. Every meal dish — soup, both stews, bibimbap, buckwheat noodles — is 10,000 won.
  4. Three posts saw autographs on the walls and around the menu board, and all three pointed out one from singer Lim Young-woong. One counted many lawmakers among them; another noticed the signatures are addressed to 'Unhyeongung Seolleongtang' — the owner's previous restaurant.

  1. Four posts called the room clean — one put it down to everything being new; another pointed to a cup sterilizer and tidy cutlery boxes. Two said the room is spacious, and one noted plenty of four-person tables.
  2. Only one post grilled meat. It said the owner par-cooked the pork and set it on the cauldron-lid grill so there was little wait, and that lettuce came in quantity without having to ask.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post describes which floor the restaurant is on from experience; only the address says ground floor. We don't know whether there is an upper floor.

Nobody mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means we don't know, not that there is no barrier.

No post says whether the toilet is inside the restaurant or separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Two posts were told by the owner that they ran a seolleongtang shop elsewhere for years before moving to Wolgok. That is hearsay, so we did not count it, and no post says where the old shop was. Every post we read about this place dates from after the move.
  • Four posts give the same opening hours: Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., closed Sundays. Two of them copied this from the listing block, and nobody mentions a break time or last order.
  • All five posts about this place appeared within two weeks; three end with the identical hashtag set and map link, and a fourth uses the same 'Wolgok Station pork belly' keyword. None discloses sponsorship, though one says the writer doesn't 'apply to just any place'. Read them as possibly commissioned.
  • No post mentions waiting. One visited around 2 p.m. and found it quiet; whether there is a line at peak lunch or dinner hours is unknown.
  • Only one post gives a phone number, 0507-1457-9299. No one says whether reservations are taken; one post's copied listing just says groups are welcome.
  • Two posts went with friends and one with parents. No one went alone, so we can't say how it works for a solo diner.
