OSTERIA SAM KIM

오스테리아 샘킴 Oseuteria Saemkim Osteria is the Italian word for a relaxed, tavern-style eatery, and Sam Kim is the TV chef who runs it — he also has a more formal sister place, Trattoria Sam Kim, in Gangnam.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

Chef Sam Kim's Italian restaurant, on the second floor of Delight Square building A (the Mapo Hangang Prugio mall) by exit 8 of Hapjeong station. Everything is à la carte — starters in the 20,000s, pastas from the high 20,000s to the 40,000s won. 19 of the 25 visit posts ordered the melanzane (22,000 won), followed by the radish-green vongole, truffle fresh pasta and guanciale carbonara. Almost every post got in through a CatchTable booking. Sometime between December 2025 and July 2026 the restaurant moved here from a building across the street in the same neighbourhood. We read 30 posts dated 4 July to 8 October 2026; 25 of them describe an actual meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a hard place to get into without a booking. 23 of the 25 visit posts booked through CatchTable, many by catching cancellations through the app's alerts or booking two months ahead; one says walk-ins don't seem possible. Two posts mention a time limit — 90 minutes, or a 6 pm booking that had to end at 7:30.
  2. The seasoning runs strong. Of 16 posts that talked about taste, 10 called the food salty, two said it wasn't, and one said it was strongly seasoned without tasting salty. Several say staff warn in advance when you order the carbonara, the anchovy pasta or the vongole; one post left the carbonara unfinished because it was too salty.
  3. 13 posts describe an open kitchen, best seen from the bar seats; one watched the chef kneading dough. Five posts mention both bar seats and regular tables, and one family was seated in a separate private room. A July 2026 post says the kitchen at the new site is only half open.
  4. Portions are not large. Three posts had to order an extra dish because what they ordered for two wasn't enough. One put the size at about 0.85 to 1 times a normal Italian restaurant and noted that neighbouring tables usually ordered one or two dishes more than the number of diners.

Parking

Posts saying you can park2 of 25 posts

Since the move, parking is possible. Two posts parked there themselves. A July 2026 post says that now the restaurant is in the Mapo Prugio mall you can park; another warns that the discount only applies in Delight Square building 1 — they used building 2 and got none. A two-hour free allowance also appears, but only in copied listing details.

Getting inside

Second floor5 of 25 posts
Lift to the floor2 of 25 posts

The restaurant is on the building's second floor. Five posts went up to it, two of them by elevator; one says you can take the lift next to the ground-floor Starbucks or the stairs, and the stairs bring you out right at the door.

Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or pram. Two posts took the elevator to the second floor. That doesn't mean there's no step — just that no one wrote about it.

No post says whether the toilet is inside the restaurant or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-07-042 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on price split: three posts call it expensive ("it had better be good at that price"), four call it reasonable for a celebrity chef. One couple paid 140,000 won for a four-dish meal. The truffle pasta is listed at 40,000 won in one post and 45,000 won in another.
  • The restaurant moved across the street within Hapjeong. A post from 21 July 2026 reports the move, saying the old room had high ceilings and echoed badly while the new one is cosier. We did not count seating or floor details from a December 2025 visit to the old site. Google Maps and some summary posts still show old addresses and back-alley directions — ignore them.
  • No post describes queueing. Two arrived early and waited on the bench outside, where staff brought menus; nobody wrote about turning up without a booking and waiting for a table.
  • Nine posts give opening hours, mostly copied from listings: Monday to Saturday 11:30–22:00, break 15:00–18:00, closed Sundays. One lists Monday to Friday only, but another post ate there on a Saturday evening, so Saturdays appear to be open. One gives 11:00 as the opening time. Three give a 21:30 last order.
  • Six posts give the phone number 02-324-3338, but one says phone reservations aren't accepted — book through the CatchTable app. Three July 2026 summary posts with old addresses and invented customer quotes looked like promotional filler, and we did not count them.
