Japanese

KyokaIzen

교카이젠 한남 Gyokaijen Hannam Kyokaizen is the Japanese word for a boundary line (境界線); the house says it stands for the line where the farm meets the table.

Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →

A low-temperature tonkatsu counter at 65-1 Dokseodang-ro, on the Hannam five-way junction, in a space that used to be an Olive Young. It is the Seoul branch of Kyokaizen in Pyeongchon, Anyang. You choose a cut (mixed, loin, premium loin, tenderloin) and then a pig breed; the breeds on offer change daily, so posts say to check Instagram and pick your order when you join the CatchTable queue. In Sep–Oct 2026 a plate ran 19,000–32,000 won, and the Songhak native pig premium loin was 70,000 won. We read 30 posts from 7 August to 18 October 2026; 17 describe a visit to the Hannam branch. We set aside 9 posts about the Pyeongchon branch and 2 about other restaurants.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The kitchen is open and you watch the cutlets being fried and sliced; five posts said so, several from the bar seats. Several also mention a comic and a breed sheet handed out at the table explaining the pig you ordered.
  2. Most seats are at the bar, with a few tables. Five posts said it is not bar-only, but the table count varies: about four 4-tops, two 4-tops, two tables, two or three. Four posts called the room small.
  3. Waits vary. Five posts waited, four walked straight in. One joined CatchTable right at the 11:00 opening, was behind 10+ parties and waited about an hour; one arrived at 10:50 on a Friday and was 10th; one saw 14 parties clear in an hour on a Saturday around 1 pm. At 4:40 on a weekday and on the Saturday after Chuseok there was one party ahead. Posts that walked in came at 5:30 on a weekday or during the holiday.
  4. Parking is valet only. Three posts paid 5,000 won; one said the car was simply left on the street by the valet booth. Another found nearby parking hard and used a public lot.

  1. The richness builds up: three posts found it greasy by the end (one started tiring of it at the third piece), one said it was not greasy. Three called the coating crisp; two noted no porky smell.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post describes the Hannam branch's floor or stairs from experience; only the address says ground floor. The posts about going down to a basement are all about the Pyeongchon branch.

We do not know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — nobody wrote about it.

No post says where the toilet is or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 17 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Nobody described getting there by subway or bus; the '509 m from Hannam Station' line is copied from a booking app.
  • The no-kids rule (and no pets, no children under 8) appears only in copied store notices, so we did not count it. No post describes going with a child.
  • Hours are mostly given as 11:00–20:00 with a 15:00–17:00 break, but closing days differ: three posts say closed Sunday and Monday, two say open daily with closures varying by month — all copied listings. One post says last order before the break was 14:10. Pyeongchon opens daily; that does not apply here.
  • What a meal costs depends heavily on the breed. Four posts called it expensive, one said cheaper than expected. Extra tenderloin was 4,000 won in an August 2026 post and 4,500 won in October, so it may have gone up. One diner balked at 8,000 won for a bottled beer.
  • One post says there are no reservations, only CatchTable queueing; another thought reservations were not taken. Two posts list the phone number 0507-1311-8367, but nobody said what you can do by calling.
