Yongsan Bongsunga
용산봉숭아 Bongsunga is the garden balsam, the summer flower whose petals Koreans traditionally crush to dye their fingernails; Yongsan is the district.

A Korean drinking house in a converted two-storey old house on Hangang-daero 15-gil, a five- or six-minute walk from exit 1 of Yongsan Station. People come for Gwangju-style duck stew (34,000 won), Suncheon-style pork intestine hot pot (28,000 won), tender pork bossam (32,000 won), aged seasonal raw fish and raw shrimp, all with soju. Seating is split between a ground-floor hall and private rooms, low platforms out front, and a second-floor hall and terrace. We read 31 posts dated 2 August to 17 October 2026; 23 of them describe actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Expect to wait. Thirteen posts mention a queue. The waits they give are 40 minutes, 40 minutes, 50 minutes and an hour on weekdays, and three hours and three hours forty on weekends. One weekend diner joined the CatchTable queue at 4:17, drew number 89 and got in at 8 — after waiting another hour and a half once they were already first in line. Even a weekday opening-time arrival found the place full within ten minutes. The remote queue is split by seating area: indoor hall, ground-floor platforms, or upstairs.
- The outdoor seats are the draw. Nine posts describe them: low platforms in front of the house and a second-floor terrace. On the platforms you sit on red cushions at floor tables — one diner wished they had worn looser clothes — and four posts mention this floor seating. The platforms seat two, there are only three of them, they sit close to passers-by, and no burner is allowed there. Two August posts found them empty on humid nights.
- You order by scanning the QR code at your table — thirteen posts say so — and pay on the way out. Several posts mention barley tea in an old juice-style glass bottle, with young-radish kimchi and cabbage salad, arriving as soon as you sit.
- When it's busy, tables are limited to two hours. One post says they were moved out exactly at the two-hour mark, before finishing. Other mentions of the limit are copied from the shop's own notice.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 10 of 23 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 23 posts read) |
| Toilet inside | 2 of 23 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 23 posts |
We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — nobody wrote about it. The second floor is up a staircase that one post calls steep and another says was missing its handrail. No one mentions a lift. One post sat on the ground floor; none mentions a basement.
Two posts say the toilets are inside, and both complain that the women's toilet is a single stall on the ground floor, so you go downstairs and queue. One post confirms separate men's and women's toilets; other mentions of that are copied listing info.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- One price has changed: the seasonal aged raw-fish platter is 45,000 won in an August post and a September list, and 55,000 won in two October posts. No post totals what a meal cost. One post found it pricey; another thought the platter was fair for the amount.
- Hours are mostly given as 4:30 pm on weekdays and 4 pm on weekends until midnight, last order 11 pm (eleven posts). Four posts say 4 pm every day, one says 4:30 every day, and one has the 4 pm opening starting Friday. Most of this is copied listing info; two visits confirm the 4:30 weekday opening first-hand.
- Several posts copy the shop's rule that only the indoor hall and rooms can be booked, while outdoor seats go by walk-in or remote queue, with a 5,000-won deposit per person for CatchTable bookings. Three posts say they went with a reservation. Eight posts list the phone number as 02-2135-5300.
- Two 'six raw-shrimp spots in Seoul' posts list the same six places in the same order with the same blurbs; we treated them as one template and didn't count them. One post discloses it was sponsored — and says the raw-fish platter had no bite and wasn't good.
