Baekok

백옥 용산 Baegok Yongsan Baekok (白玉) means white jade; one post ties the name to the clear, pale pork-bone broth.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

Baekok runs a clear pork-soup house across both floors of a small building in the lane behind the HYBE headquarters. Plain pork soup is 11,000 won, the spicy version 12,000 and the herbal one 16,000, all served with the rice already in the bowl, alongside cabbage dumplings, chilled pork cheek, spicy pork tail, mung-bean pancakes and traditional liquor. You order by scanning a QR code at the table. We read 30 posts from 26 Sept 2025 to 17 Oct 2026; after dropping one real-estate ad, all 29 remaining posts describe an actual meal. Posts from the opening weeks in autumn 2025 gave a 9 pm Sunday close; from December on, posts list 11 am to 10 pm every day.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Waits vary. Five posts waited: about 10 minutes on a weekday evening; 30 minutes from 7:30 pm, getting in at 8 just before the kitchen sold out; a line outside before a 5:30 opening; a short wait at peak lunch; and a long one for a four-top on a Friday lunch, where pairs and threes behind them were seated first. Two posts walked straight in, one weekend lunch and one weekday dinner.
  2. Ordering is by QR code at the table; thirteen posts say so, and one notes English, Japanese and Chinese tabs. One diner found it awkward.
  3. Food comes fast: four posts said so, one timing it at about a minute after ordering and another at five to ten minutes. No one complained of a slow kitchen.
  4. The most repeated point is the absence of porky smell: fifteen posts said so. Ten said the soup arrives already seasoned and needed no salt, and eight noted the meat is sliced thin.
3 more
  1. Twelve posts called the portions generous, one guessing a bowl and a half of rice with meat left to the end. One family, though, found the 18,000-won plate of chilled pork small for the money.
  2. Twelve posts called the spicy soup or the pork tail hot, but mostly in the sense of a clean, moderate heat; one said it was not really that spicy. The pork tail comes in heat levels, and most eaters chose the mildest.
  3. It is a walk from the subway: eight posts say so, putting it six to nine minutes from Sinyongsan Station exit 2 and ten to twelve from Yongsan Station.

Parking

1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 28 posts

There is no parking lot of its own. Nearly every post repeats the shop's notice about free parking at the Yongsan tax office (weekdays after 5 pm, all day weekends), but that is copied text. The one post that drove was turned away at the tax office and paid to park nearby.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

It is a walk from the subway: eight posts say so, putting it six to nine minutes from Sinyongsan Station exit 2 and ten to twelve from Yongsan Station.

Getting inside

Second floor18 of 28 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 28 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 28 posts

Most diners end up upstairs: eighteen posts describe the second floor, and twelve mention its wall of windows. The ground floor is mostly two- and three-seat tables by the kitchen, which is where the solo diner was seated; two posts found the ground floor closed that day. Nine posts mention a private room for six to ten at the back upstairs.

No post mentions a step at the door, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift; posts only say you take the stairs to the second floor. That means no one wrote about it, not that it is absent.

One post places a restroom inside on the ground floor. Several mention a private restroom for the upstairs room, partly copied from the shop's notice. No one says whether restrooms are split by gender.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Almost every post lists 11 am to 10 pm daily with last orders at 9, mostly copied from listings. Two posts from Sept to Oct 2025 gave a 9 pm Sunday close. One diner waited for a 5:30 pm opening despite the no-break-time notice, and one saw the kitchen sell out around 8 pm. The phone is 010-3961-1176; posts relay that bookings go through Naver and CatchTable.
  • Prices barely moved across 2026, except the cabbage dumplings: 8,000 won at opening, two for 5,000 in Dec 2025, then two for 4,000 or five for 10,000 from April 2026. Three posts called it good value and one found the chilled pork pricey. Four got chilled pork through a review event or coupon; none disclosed sponsorship.
