SAM SAM SAM

쌤쌤쌤 Ssaemssaemssaem Ssaemssaemssaem is how Koreans read SAM SAM SAM, the name printed on the sign, plates, cups and receipts; the posts give it no further meaning.

SAM SAM SAM is an American home-style Western restaurant on Yongnidan-gil, the lane between Samgakji and Sinyongsan stations (25 Hangang-daero 50-gil). Lasagna and jambon-butter pasta are 23,000 won, the steak is 38,000 won, and four posts describe a 76,000-won set for two: a starter, the steak, a lasagna or pasta and two drinks. You order through a QR code on the table. Since September 2026 the menu has a hamburg-steak lasagna (23,000 won) based on chef Kim Hoon's winning TV-contest dish; earlier posts don't have it. We read 30 posts from 28 July to 15 October 2026; 22 of them describe actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect to wait at lunch and at weekends: ten posts say they queued. One waited 30 minutes on the first day of the Chuseok holiday; another, on a July 2026 weekend, joined the remote queue at 1pm as number 25, then stood outside for another 50 minutes and got in at 3. Going early helps: one post walked straight in at 11:35 on a weekday but saw people waiting outside by 11:50; another went in at 11:20 and counted seven parties waiting when leaving around noon; a third arrived at 4:45 on a Friday and was fourth for dinner. The two posts that didn't wait came at 2pm on a weekday and at an off-peak weekday hour.
  2. It's a small room. Six posts call it small or not spacious; one, from the batch of identical promo posts, calls it spacious. One post found few seats for three or more, and another says a two-top felt cramped once the water bottle and two plates were on it.
  3. Seating is mostly bar stools and two-person tables. Five posts mention both a bar and tables; a July 2026 post counted a bar, about six two-tops and a single four-top, and one more post says four-person tables are few.
  4. There are terrace seats along the front windows. Five posts mention them: four sat there, and one found them full by 5:30pm on a weekday. One post notes that only the two window tables have the illustrated tablecloths.
3 more
  1. Ordering is by the QR code stuck to each table, as seven posts describe. One adds that the phone only sends the order and you pay at the counter afterwards. One post says there was still a paper menu in early 2026.
  2. Three posts say the kitchen is open to the room; one spent the wait watching the cooks.
  3. Three posts got 1,000 won off for writing a Naver receipt review; one says it's 1,000 won per person for up to four, so a pair saved 2,000 won.

Getting inside

The address says ground floor, but no post describes the floor or any steps from experience. That doesn't mean there are none; nobody wrote about it.

We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair fits; no post mentions it. Several do say the room is small and tables are close together.

No post mentions the toilets, so we don't know where they are or whether they are separate.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 7 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-142 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Posts split on portions, four saying generous and three saying small. One couple was stuffed after two dishes, and another found the small-looking plates more filling than expected. On the other side, two posts call the gnocchi small and one wished extra noodles were an option.
  • Most posts give opening hours of 10:30 to 22:00, last orders at 21:00, and a 15:00–17:00 break. Fridays are where they differ. A post from Friday 11 September 2026 went in when dinner started at 5pm, but six posts from 13 October on (four sharing the same promo text) say Friday to Sunday run straight through. So the Friday break seems to have gone sometime in September or October, though no post says the restaurant announced it, and one post from 14 October still lists Monday–Friday. Two posts give an 11:30 opening and two a 17:30 end to the break; neither matches the rest. All of these hours are copied from listings rather than observed. One post says there is no regular closing day.
  • Posts agree on prices: lasagna, jambon pasta and hamburg lasagna at 23,000 won, prawn bisque pasta at 25,000, the steak at 38,000, starters at 13,000 and the set for two at 76,000. One pair paid about 45,000 won for a pasta and a lasagna. Two posts called it fair or good value; one thought 23,000 won was steep for pasta but felt it was worth it. A post about the Gwanghwamun branch, where the hamburg lasagna is 26,000 won, is a different restaurant and wasn't counted.
  • Several posts list the phone number 0507-1309-1103, but none say they called it. The line that phone bookings aren't taken and everything goes through CatchTable is copied from listings; two posts say they booked ahead on CatchTable and walked in without queuing.
  • The '4–5 minutes on foot from Samgakji exit 3' line is almost always copied from listings. One post says the writer came by subway, and another walked six minutes from the office.
  • No post describes coming with children. One says there are no high chairs or children's cutlery.
  • The menu has been changing. The hamburg lasagna appears only from September 2026, with one regular noting it wasn't on the menu before. One post says that in early 2026 the steak came whole with potatoes; now it comes sliced over the arancini crust. Another says only a rosé lasagna was available in the summer.
  • Four posts from 14–15 October 2026 share the same block of directions and similar hashtags. None mention sponsorship, but they look like one template. We counted only the three that name dishes as visits, and used almost nothing they said. One post claimed to be self-paid but listed dish names and hours that match no other post, so we didn't count it as a visit.
