T'ART

티에이알티 Tieialti T'ART spells out the word 'tart' letter by letter — tarts are the house's main dessert, and the Korean name is simply those four letters read aloud.

Compiled from 26 blog posts read in fullSources →

T'ART is a tart and financier shop in a red-brick building down an alley off Hangang-daero 52-gil in Yongsan, near Samgakji Station. Seasonal tarts — minari, Black Sapphire grape with dill, pistachio, Korean melon — cost 13,000 won in September–October 2026 posts; financiers flavoured with grain syrup, burdock, soy sauce or black raspberry run 4,600–5,200 won. Drinks are pour-over coffee only (6,000–10,000 won by bean), tea, makgeolli and whisky; you smell the beans and leaves at the counter and pick from a pairing chart on the menu. October 2026 posts say it now closes only on Mondays and opens at 11:00; posts from February and May had it closed Monday to Wednesday and opening at noon. We read 30 posts dated 31 January to 19 October 2026; 26 of them describe a visit.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect a wait at weekends. Of 18 posts that mention waiting, 12 waited: 40, 30, 15, 15, 10 and 10 minutes, and 'under ten minutes'. The three that walked straight in came on weekdays (two, one at 3 p.m.) or arrived early to an empty room. The queue runs through CatchTable remote waitlisting; one post noted a CatchTable kiosk inside.
  2. Seven posts say seating is limited to two hours once a queue forms. One was held to it on a crowded day; another watched staff call up guests who had passed two hours as soon as a line started.
  3. It is small. Of 14 posts that judged the room, 13 called it cramped; only a solo weekday-afternoon visitor found it roomier than expected. Those who counted seats found three to six two-person tables and one to three tables for three or four, set close together.
  4. Six posts found the seats uncomfortable — hard wooden chairs that left one writer sore. Several suggest eating and moving on rather than lingering; no post called the chairs comfortable.
3 more
  1. Seven posts call it expensive: over 60,000 won for three coffees and three desserts, 23,500 won for one tart and one milk-brew coffee, and a 9,000-won mugwort milk tea judged not worth it.
  2. Four posts put it about five minutes on foot from Samgakji Station exit 3 (one used exit 4). It is hidden from the main road, so follow a map; one post says to turn right at the 'power cooling' sandwich board.
  3. Six posts mention takeaway, two noting that many customers left with boxes. Packaging fees differ: an August 2026 post paid 2,000 won to box a tart (none for financiers), while a July post paid nothing extra.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 26 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 26 posts read)

No post describes the floor or any stairs from experience; '1st floor' appears only in the address.

Nobody wrote about the entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — that means unknown, not absent. Many posts say the room and the gaps between tables are tight.

Only one post mentions the toilet: inside, behind the order counter, so you don't leave the building, and shared by all genders.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours have shifted. February and May 2026 posts: closed Monday–Wednesday, opening at noon; June–July: closed Monday–Tuesday, opening at 11:00; from August: closed Mondays only. Closing was 21:00 Tue–Thu and Sun, 22:00 Fri–Sat until early October; posts from 7 October on say 22:00 daily (one says 20:00). All of this is copied listing info, so check before going.
  • Prices move. The Black Sapphire dill tart was 12,000 won in May–June 2026 posts and 13,000 won in September. One August post put the minari tart at 14,000 won against 13,000 elsewhere. A post from a late-August pop-up at The Hyundai Seoul (all tarts 14,000 won) is not counted as shop pricing.
  • One post says tables cannot be booked; the queue runs on CatchTable. Three posts say tarts can be held by paying ahead via Instagram DM the day before, and several found minari and pistachio sold out by around 5 p.m. The number 0507-1387-9405 is widely copied, but nobody reported booking by phone.
  • Two posts say the owner is the pastry chef behind Classique, a former dessert shop in Bogwang-dong, which closed when the owner went abroad. It is a new shop under a new name, so we do not treat it as a relocation.
