Meal For U

밀포유 인사동점 Milpoyu Insadong-jeom Milpoyu is the Korean spelling of 'Meal For U', as one post explains the name.

Compiled from 26 blog posts read in fullSources →

A hanok in an alley off Insadong 8-gil, near Ssamziegil, serving mille-feuille nabe, shabu-shabu and sukiyaki by the single portion, cooked on an induction ring at your seat. Mille-feuille nabe is 18,900 won with Australian chuck or 24,900 with Korean beef; noodles go into the pot at the end, and many diners add a separate fried rice (4,900 won). One post had the weekday-lunch sukiyaki set at 16,900 won. We read 30 posts from March 2025 to October 2026; after setting aside 2 about other places and 1 that only introduced the shop, 27 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Solo diners are well served. Of fourteen posts that describe seating, several mention a bar counter facing the kitchen or single seats, and one regular says she always eats alone at one. Three posts note each bar seat has its own induction ring, so a couple could order different dishes; one notes that at a regular table you share one ring and must agree on a single dish.
  2. You order on a tablet or kiosk at the table: fourteen of the nineteen posts that discuss ordering say so, and several mention a sukiyaki cooking video on the tablet. One says you pay afterward.
  3. Eleven posts call the portions large: one says the noodles took them from 70% to 150% full, another that a single fried rice was enough for two, and two left noodles unfinished. One writer felt the vegetables were plentiful but the beef scant and ordered 200 g more.

Getting inside

Second flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 26 posts read)

Only one post says the shop is single-storey; nobody describes a basement or upstairs seating. The '1st floor' in the address is copied, not observed.

Nobody says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in; several mention the hanok sits down a narrow alley. This means we don't know, not that access is absent.

No one describes the restroom, inside or out, shared or separate; one post's copied amenity list includes the word 'restroom', which we did not count.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waits are split. Three posts waited or saw a queue (a weekday wait, three groups ahead at 12:20, long waits after 11:30), and three walked straight in (5 pm on a weekday, a 6 pm weekend booking, a rainy day). Six booked through Naver and were seated at once; several copied that only some tables take bookings. No post gives a wait time in minutes.
  • Whether there is a private room splits two to two: two posts say room or group room, two say it is not really a room but a separated nook. It seems to be a partitioned area without a door; the twelve-person capacity is hearsay and we did not count it.
  • Twenty posts list hours, all copied blocks: weekdays 11:00-21:00 with a 15:00-17:00 break, weekends 12:00-21:00, last order 20:15. Most put the weekend break at 16:00-17:00; two say 15:00-17:00. Two 2025 posts give a closure on the second Monday of each month; two October 2026 posts say open every day, so this seems to have changed in between.
  • Prices mostly agree, with gaps. Shabu and sukiyaki with chuck are 17,900 won in May 2025 and October 2026, but one October 2025 post copied 9,900 and 10,900 from the menu. The weekday lunch set appears at 15,900 (copied) and 16,900 (eaten). Two posts give a bill: 67,600 won for two (two nabe, karaage, fried rice, two highballs) and 'in the 80,000s' for another couple. One calls it pricey, two call it cheap.
  • Over ten posts copy the phone number 0507-1352-4904, and several say bookings go through Naver (some tables only) with CatchTable remote queuing. No one describes booking by phone.
  • Many posts from June to October 2026 repeat the same phrases in the same order (broth aged 20 days, good for wedding-invitation dinners, weekday lunch specials, a quiet hanok), and ten end with the same place link. None disclose sponsorship, but they look templated. The aged-broth line is the shop's own claim and we did not rely on it. Five posts say they paid their own way.
  • The menu has changed: beef-tartare perilla-oil buckwheat noodles are absent from an October 2025 menu list and appear as 'new' from June 2026. A May 2025 post lists cold soba and tonkatsu, which 2026 posts don't mention. There is no sign the shop has moved.
