A wine shop and bar in the basement of the Samil Building, 85 Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jongno-gu. You can take a bottle off the shelves, pay at the counter and drink it at your table, or sign up by QR, top up, and pour your own 30 ml taste or 80 ml glass from the dispensers. Food is ordered at the counter and collected when the buzzer goes off; you fetch your own glasses and cutlery and return trays when you leave. Posts from July and August 2026 list kimchi fried rice at 11,900 won, arugula cheese tteokbokki at 10,900 won, and glasses of wine from 5,600 to 12,800 won. Four friends paid 238,820 won (59,705 each) for four bottles and food; five coworkers paid 190,000 won. We read 30 posts published between April 2025 and October 2026 (the earliest visit was in September 2024). Twenty-nine describe a visit; we set aside one, which was about the Hapjeong branch.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eight posts call it spacious. The room splits into two sides of the entrance: one post says the left has tables for four or fewer and the right is mostly group seating. One post mentions partitioned tables that are not used at weekends, another notes the high ceiling, and five coworkers held a team dinner here.
  2. Seven posts say you can book (via Catchtable or Naver), and they agree the room fills toward evening. One weekend party found it quiet at 4 pm and every table taken by about 6; another was comfortable at 3 but saw reserved tables filling from 5; a daytime group found the inner tables all reserved. One guest booked through Naver, asked for a window seat and got it.
  3. Seven posts say it is not expensive. One compares an Invivo white at 28,900 won here with roughly 28,000 to 35,000 won in shops; another drank glasses at 5,000 and 7,000 won. Three posts are mixed: soft-serve at 5,000 won felt steep for the size, the jjajang ramen was not good value, and the sparkling section leaned toward pricey Champagne.
  4. Going with friends is by far the most common: fourteen posts, several of them as a second stop of the night. One post is a team dinner of five coworkers and one is a date. Six posts describe repeat visits, including friends who call it their usual spot, a guest with a regular order, and an office worker who often comes for lunchtime coffee.

  1. Five posts mention heat, always mild: the arugula cheese tteokbokki, the arrabbiata risotto, the tomato mussel stew and an oyster ramen with whole oysters.

Getting inside

In a basement7 of 29 posts

Seven posts describe going down to the basement, and three say they took the stairs to get there. It still has windows: five posts mention window seats or the view outside, one says sunlight comes in because it faces south, and another says the window sofas are soft even though there is no view.

No one wrote about a step at the entrance, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift. It is on basement level 1, and three posts say they went down by stairs. That does not mean the stairs are the only way in, only that nobody mentioned another.

No one said whether the toilets are inside the bar or in the building corridor. Two posts list separate men's and women's toilets, but both copied that from the venue listing, so we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Two posts found the staff friendly and one did not. A September 2026 guest says an 80 ml pour from the dispenser came out as 60 ml, that staff handled it badly, and that a second pour of the same wine was short again.
  • Prices have gone up. Arugula cheese tteokbokki was 9,900 won in posts from August 2025 and January 2026 and 10,900 won by July to August 2026. Kimchi fried rice went from 10,900 won on the August 2025 menu to 11,900 won in two summer 2026 posts. Grilled napa cabbage went from 10,900 won in April 2025 to 12,900 won in July 2026. The posts do not show exactly when each increase happened.
  • Seasoning is split: one post found the tteokbokki a bit salty, one said the food was generally not salty, and one found the pasta well seasoned but good with wine. Portions are split two to two between generous and small.
  • Comfort is split one to one: one post complained of hard wooden chairs and sagging beanbag sofas, another found the window sofas very soft. One post mentions low round tables with floor seating, while the others describe chairs and sofas.
  • Only one post describes actually using public transport: the bus stop and subway are both close, so they timed their exit to the last train. The '5 minutes from Jonggak Station exit 4' line appears in several posts, but it is copied from listings.
  • No post records queuing or how long it took. One couple walked straight in at 9 pm on a Saturday. Several posts say the room filled up in the evening, but none says whether people then had to wait.
  • Thirteen posts give opening hours, and most agree: weekdays 10:00 to 24:00 (11 posts), weekends 11:00 to 24:00 (12), last order 22:00 (8). Most of these are copied from listings, though, and one post says 10:00 to 24:00 every day. One group confirmed the midnight close first-hand when they were ushered out at 12.
  • Two posts list the phone number 0507-1331-4095 and one lists 010-9592-1860. Most posts say booking is done through Catchtable or Naver.
  • Two posts read largely as promotion. A May 2025 writer identifies as a Washington Wine supporter and showcases that month's set discounts and tote-bag giveaway; an October 2025 post is full of marketing phrases. We did not rely on the promotions or discounts they describe.
