Soul Galbi Jonggak-jeom
소울갈비 종각점 Soul is the English word written in Hangul and galbi means ribs, usually marinated and grilled; Jonggak-jeom marks this as the Jonggak branch.

A charcoal galbi house at 63 Cheonggyecheon-ro, ground floor, right on the stream near Exit 4 of Jonggak Station. It opened on 6 April 2026; one writer says it took over the old Pungnyeon Sikdang space. The core is beef short rib in a 72-hour marinade (33,000 won a portion) and Sancheong black-pork ribs (23,000 won), plus sirloin, pork belly and meal dishes like jjajangmyeon and bibim noodles. At lunch it sells grill sets with rice and stew. It runs date-based extra-portion deals: May–June posts describe them as 2+1, posts from late July on as 3+1. We read 23 posts from 12 April to 9 October 2026; one was about a different shop, leaving 22 actual visits. Two disclosed sponsorship, four said they paid themselves, and sixteen said nothing.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Twelve posts mention outdoor seating facing the Cheonggyecheon. Summer visitors did not use it: one early-August writer saw nobody eating outside, a mid-August writer said it was too hot for now, and a May writer chose indoors for the same reason.
- Who grills is split. Eight posts say staff grilled for them, two grilled it themselves, and three say staff only did the first round — an April writer said after that you are on your own because the room is too tight for staff to keep helping, and a May writer was told staff grill when it is not busy.
- Six posts say the pork ribs come out already part-grilled. A May writer watched staff doing this in a pre-grill room by the entrance; an August writer saw meat turning in a rotating drum on the way out.
- Nine posts say the marinade is not too sweet, one calls it sweet, and two are mixed (beef less sweet, pork sweeter).

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Floors changed over time. An April 2026 post says only the ground floor and outdoor tables were in use and the room was cramped; a mid-July post sat in sofa seats on the second floor, and two early-August posts also mention a second floor. Posts from 10 and 18 August were told the upper floor was being remodelled and only the ground floor was open, and late-August posts say the upper floors were being readied for private hire. We do not know whether upstairs seating is open now.
Three posts say you eat on the ground floor. The basement comes up only as where one writer found the toilets; talk of renting it out from September is hearsay.
Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift. That means we don't know, not that there is none.
Two posts (May and early August) say there are separate men's and women's toilets inside. A late-August writer found them, unusually, in the basement. We do not know the arrangement after the remodel.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Few posts talk about waiting. A June weekend-evening writer saw a queue form right after they sat down; an August visitor at 11:30 on a weekday found none; another August writer recalls seeing lines through June when passing by. No one gives a wait time. Four posts booked ahead.
- Bring-your-own is unclear: an August group brought champagne and paid a 10,000-won-per-bottle corkage fee, while one May and one September post call wine corkage-free.
- Take the 'calm' descriptions with care. Of four posts calling it calm, two belong to a set of five that repeat the house's own promotional copy (refined restraint, business meetings, executive dinners, attentive but unobtrusive service) almost word for word. An April post, just after opening, called the room noisy and crowded.
- One writer had eaten the same beef ribs at the Yeouido branch before — this is one of several branches.
- All opening hours come from copied info blocks, not experience. Five posts from April to June list a 10:30 weekday opening; from mid-July posts say 11:00–22:30 on weekdays with a 15:00–17:00 break (two say 11:30). Saturday opening is split, six posts saying 10:00 and four saying 11:00, and the Saturday break is given as either 15:00–16:00 or 16:00–17:00. All agree it is closed on Sundays.
- Only one post gives a full bill: three people paid 80,000 won for black-pork ribs on the 3+1 deal (69,000), two bowls of rice (2,000) and barley-doenjang stew (9,000). The deals have changed by date and season, so check before going. Four posts call it good value; one felt 13,000 won for the tofu stew was steep for a side.
- Most posts give the phone number as 0507-1473-3063; one July post lists 02-733-1979. Several copy that bookings go through Naver and Catchtable, and one says groups of nine or more should call the shop.
