Horaengi Gotgan Gongdeok-jeom

호랭이곳간 공덕점 Horaengi is a colloquial form of horangi, tiger, and gotgan is a storehouse or granary: the tiger's pantry. Posts describe tiger paintings and big tiger dolls around the dining room.

Horaengi Gotgan's Gongdeok branch is a Korean rice-and-soup restaurant on the ground floor of a side street by Gongdeok Elementary School, about five minutes on foot from exit 4 of Gongdeok Station. The draw is sagolbap, Korean-beef bone broth with rice and plenty of beef (10,000 won), and its spicy version (11,000 won). The bibimbap bowls, pork belly, thin-sliced beef or raw beef (10,000 to 12,000 won), and the flame-cooked rice bowls also come with a cup of the broth. Many diners add the scorched-rice sweet-and-sour pork (10,000 won) or 150 g of kitchen-grilled pork belly (5,000 won), and a few came in the evening for boiled beef or kimchi with tofu, plus makgeolli or soju. You order on a tablet at the table and refill kimchi and pickled onion at a self-serve counter. We read 30 posts dated June 14 to October 14, 2026, and 25 of them describe an actual meal there.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Big portions come up most often: 18 of the 25 visits say so. Diners describe two cuts of beef in the sagolbap, sliced and shredded, and one wrote that the amount of meat was enormous. The 5,000-won pork belly side was more generous than expected. One post found the meat on the cold noodles a little skimpy, and we counted it separately.
  2. The bone broth arrives unseasoned. Three posts say it came almost without salt and they adjusted it with the salt and pepper on the table; in another, staff told the diner to add both.
  3. The side dishes are cubed radish kimchi and pickled onion, and you top them up yourself at a self-serve counter. Ten posts mention it; one diner went back for more radish kimchi.
  4. Ordering is done on a tablet or kiosk at each table, according to seven posts. One diner in a hurry asked the owner what came out fastest and was told the sagolbap takes about three minutes.
4 more
  1. Pork belly is not grilled at the table. Four posts say it comes out of the kitchen already cooked, on a hot plate. One diner liked not having to grill it but wished it had arrived hotter.
  2. You may wait at the lunch peak. Three posts waited: one briefly while a table was cleared, one for a short while, and one got in just before a queue formed behind them. One diner who came around 2 p.m. was seated at once. Five more only guessed at peak-time waits from the sign-up sheet at the door. No one recorded how many minutes.
  3. Opinions on how hot the spicy soups are split evenly: two posts call them spicy, two say they were milder than expected, and two land in between. Two posts mention companions who don't handle heat well eating them anyway.
  4. No one found it expensive; 13 posts call it cheap or good value. Meals run 10,000 to 13,000 won. A couple ordered three dishes for exactly 30,000 won, and one post notes soju at 3,000 won a bottle. Three of those 13 posts disclose sponsorship.

Parking

Posts saying you can park7 of 25 posts

There is a little parking in front of and beside the shop. Seven posts parked there or saw that they could, and five say there is room for only one or two cars. In one, staff moved the cones aside when asked; another couldn't tell whether the spot belonged to the restaurant and suggested calling first.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 25 posts read)

No one says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits. That means we don't know, not that it is a problem. One post notes from its visit that the shop is on the ground floor.

No one says where the restroom is. One post's info box lists separate men's and women's restrooms, but it was copied from the shop listing, so we didn't count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Eighteen posts give the same hours, daily 11:00 to 21:30 with last order at 21:00, though most were copied from the listing. One post says closed on weekends, but that line carries the name of the Huam-dong branch, and others ate here on a Sunday night and a weekend evening, so we set it aside. One post notes there is no mid-afternoon break.
  • Almost every post gives the phone number as 0507-1339-7149; one wrote 02-6369-7149. No one says whether reservations are taken. Several posts suggest calling ahead about parking if you drive.
  • Sixteen of the 30 posts appeared between October 2 and 14 with the same search phrases and the same info box. Three disclose sponsorship and two attach receipts saying they paid themselves (June and July visits); the rest say nothing either way. Claims such as 100 percent Korean-beef bones, broth made only from water and bones, not a franchise, and a TV appearance were copied from the shop's own materials, and we did not rely on them.
  • The young-radish dishes are a summer menu. Posts from July to September ate the radish bibimbap and noodles, and an October 8 post found them sold out. We don't know whether they are still offered.
