Seonu Sushi

선우스시 Seonu is a Korean personal name; the rest of the sign is simply the word sushi.

Seonu Sushi is a sushi kitchen on the ground floor behind Nambusunhwan-ro in Gasan-dong, Geumcheon-gu. It lives on delivery, and you can also eat in: of the five posts we read, two ate at a table, two phoned an order and collected it, and one has had it delivered for over a year and been in once to pick up. What people order is the assorted plate, almost to the exclusion of everything else — twelve pieces, four of them shrimp. Its customers are the office workers of the Guro and Gasan digital complexes, and the delivery radius reaches Haan-dong in Gwangmyeong. The room is small, and two writers describe the open kitchen side stacked with takeaway containers. The posts we read run from April 2025 to July 2026.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a place people have delivered. Three of the five ordered in or phoned ahead to collect, and one has been doing it weekly for more than a year. That is why so little of the room ever gets written down — the seats, the toilet, the parking, the doorway. One thing follows from it though: collecting the order yourself costs ₩1,000 less than having it brought. Delivery comes with soy sauce and pickled ginger; extra soy sauce is charged for.
  2. The room is small and cluttered. The writer who ate in calls it plain to the point of rough, the open-kitchen side crowded with containers and stock, and gives the atmosphere one star out of five. The delivery regular who came to collect looked in and found it small. A third puts it down to the volume of delivery orders. One writer thinks a group would struggle. All three file it as a fault and then rate the food high anyway — and one of them adds that it is exactly right for eating a quiet plate alone.
  3. Price is why people come. Three writers praise it and only one gives a figure: ₩13,000 for the twelve-piece plate in April 2025, settled at ₩11,700 with the city's Seoul Pay scheme. The other two say only that it is cheap for what arrives. The one who ate in was given an extra piece of egg sushi on the house.
  4. One writer clocks it at a twenty-minute walk from either Guro Digital Complex or Gasan Digital Complex station, and opens the section with "somewhere in Geumcheon-gu". Behind Nambusunhwan-ro is not a place you get off the subway for, which reads as the reason this is a delivery kitchen. Two of the writers explain themselves by where they live rather than where they were going. It is a neighbourhood shop, not a destination.
  5. One writer notes, as a line item, that there is no wait. In a room with few seats, the absence of queue stories seems to follow from how few people come to sit — but this one line is all anyone says about waiting.
  6. The kitchen is open, and you watch the work. The writer who ate in reports the containers and stock piled in front of it as clutter, and in the same breath finds something companionable in the owner making sushi among it. The one who came to collect describes the owner with nobody else in the shop, in very clean, professional whites. One writer notes fresh wasabi served separately, so you take as much as you want.

Getting there

Map showing where Seonu Sushi is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for the address instead.

Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.

Getting inside

No post mentions a step at the door, a ramp, a wheelchair or a pushchair. The address says ground floor; nobody looked at the threshold. We do not know whether a wheelchair gets in — unchecked, not refused.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 7 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Three writers buy this food again and again; none of them sits down again and again. One has ordered for over a year, one eats it twice a month, one liked it enough to write it up several times. Almost all of that repetition is delivery and collection, and nobody records sitting down here twice. Having regulars and being a good place to eat in are two different things.
  • Not one post mentions the toilet — whether the shop has its own, whether it is shared, nothing. Two writers ate at a table here and neither wrote it down. That is a gap in what we counted, not a fact about the shop.
  • Nobody describes the entrance with their own eyes. "1304-14, ground floor" appears in several posts, but it comes from the check-in widget or a copied information block. Whether there are steps, whether the door is level with the street — no one says.
  • Almost nobody says who they ate with. Most of this food was delivered, so there is little going-anywhere to describe. One writer eats it with her husband, at home. No post describes sitting here alone, and none describes sitting here in a group — though one writer doubts a group would fit.
  • The two posts that give opening hours disagree: 11:30–22:00 every day in April 2025, and 11:25–22:40 every day in April 2026. Five minutes at one end and forty at the other — we cannot tell a change from a misreading, so we are publishing neither as confirmed. No post mentions a closing day; both say "every day", and we do not know whether that means never shut. Worth checking before you go.
  • Three of the eight confirmed posts are out. One is a review of a different shop (Seonu Sushi appears only in a related-posts card at the foot of it). One is a diary entry from someone who only ever had it delivered. The third is a rewrite of an earlier post: a February 2026 piece tracks an April 2025 one sentence by sentence — the same "only those who know, know", the same runner-up shrimp, the same wasabi served separately, the same dim and cluttered room — down to the opening hours, the phone number and the free-parking line, while carrying no photographs and no prices. It still finds room to compare hall and delivery pricing without naming a figure. Counted, it would turn one person's meal into two. That is why the number is five and not eight — and two of those five are the same blogger, so four people.
  • No post declares a sponsorship. Two say plainly that they paid: one writes "no sponsorship, no advertising, no kickback" three times over and posts the delivery-app receipt; the other records what the card was charged. A third volunteers that nobody asked her for a review — she wrote several because the food was good. That is not a statement about money, but it is worth repeating. The remaining two say nothing either way.
