NUWA

누와 Nuwa Nüwa is the goddess of ancient Chinese myth; posts say the house slogan is 'flavours shaped by the goddess'.

Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →

Nuwa is chef Park Eun-young's modern Chinese restaurant on the second floor of the Sinsa Square building near exit 6 of Sinsa Station. It is reservation-only through CatchTable and serves both à la carte dishes (dongpo pork dumpling 10,000 won each, garlic-seasoned fried tofu 30,000, jjamppong 25,000, fig sweet-and-sour pork 40,000) and set menus (lunch 80,000 per person; dinner 118,000 or 168,000). We read 30 posts dated 8 September to 16 October 2026; 25 describe an actual meal, the earliest from early August. Three were about other businesses in the building and were set aside, and two only introduce the place. Ten posts say the chef was not in that day; none say she was.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Hot tea is on the table as soon as you sit down. Seventeen of the 25 visit posts mention it, kept warm over a small candle and refilled by staff. There are meant to be two teas to choose from, but five posts from 16 September on say the oolong was unavailable because of import problems, leaving only the green-tangerine black tea, while one 8 September post had only the osmanthus oolong. Several posts also mention a small alcohol-free sangria-style drink after the meal.
  2. One side of the room is an open kitchen; ten posts mention it, and one counted five or six cooks at dinner. Size is disputed: four posts found the room smaller than expected, one found it spacious, and several say the tables are well spaced. One post counted about 12 tables, another about ten parties at two- and four-tops; three saw private rooms at the back, and one gives the room minimum spend as 400,000 won at lunch and 700,000 at dinner.
  3. It is close to the station: seven posts walked from exit 6 of Sinsa Station and give 3–4, 4 and about 5 minutes. One describes the route as straight past an SK petrol station to a glass building.
  4. Ten posts call the staff kind. One pregnant diner was offered water instead of caffeinated tea, had her raw sea urchin served separately and got a caffeine-free dessert drink. Six posts say a single order of noodles was split into two bowls for two. Three posts were mixed: a server who struggled to open champagne, a dish swapped without explanation, and a time limit nobody mentioned until it ran out.
2 more
  1. Tables are time-limited: three posts say so, giving 90 minutes and 80 minutes. One diner was not told in advance and only heard when the 90 minutes were up. Several posts say lunch runs in two seatings, at 12:00 and 13:30; one found that with everyone seated at noon the courses arrive almost together, so dishes cooled if you ate slowly, and another found the dishes came out slowly one by one.
  2. Mostly a place for two: seven posts went with a partner or spouse, often for a birthday or anniversary, and two got a seasonal dessert or gift after noting the birthday when booking. Five went with friends, two with family (one with a daughter) and one as a group of four.

Parking

6 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park6 of 24 posts

Six posts actually used the basement car park. Weekdays were roomy; weekends vary because of the wedding hall in the same building — one post endured 'parking hell' on a weekend, while one parked easily at Sunday lunch and another found it empty on a weekend. The two hours of free parking is mostly copied from listings; only one post describes receiving it.

Getting inside

Second floor9 of 24 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 9 (of 24 posts read)
Lift to the floor1 of 24 posts
Toilet inside1 of 24 posts

The restaurant is on the building's second floor; nine posts describe going up by escalator or stairs, and one took lift no. 5 from the basement car park and found the door right in front. Five posts say the entrance was hard to find, with little signage, a door that looks like a back door, and its position right beside the lift.

We do not know about steps at the door or wheelchair or pushchair access; no post mentions it. Posts only say there are escalators and a lift to the second floor.

We are unsure about the toilets: one post says they are inside and clean, while another's copied info block says separate men's and women's toilets outside. The two disagree, and the second is copied listing text.

No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on price split: five posts call it expensive, one says it was well worth it, and two are mixed, for example finding only the dumpling overpriced. Bills given: just over 100,000 won for two without drinks, 115,000 for two, 175,000 for two including a glass of wine, 160,000 for two lunch sets, and 50,000–60,000 per person. One post says the 30,000-won-per-person deposit is refunded when you show up.
  • Four posts found portions small, ordering extra dishes or noting a small sweet-and-sour or jjamppong; one found more than expected and had leftovers.
  • Eight posts found dishes sweet, especially the fig sweet-and-sour pork with its candied figs; one found the sauce not very sweet.
  • No post describes queueing, since it is reservation-only: one walked straight in, and two waited outside for the first seating to open. The wait is for a booking instead — the next month opens at midnight on the 15th, and many posts got in through CatchTable cancellation alerts.
  • Thirteen posts give opening hours, all copied from listings, and they disagree on the closing day. All agree on 12:00–22:00 with a 15:00–18:00 break, but eight say open daily and three say closed Mondays, with no split by date. Last order is 20:30 in six posts; one says 13:30 lunch and 20:00 dinner, another 14:30 for lunch. Check before you go.
  • Phone numbers: 0507-1337-2030 in four posts, 02-518-2003 in one. Most posts say booking is CatchTable-only; one arranged the course by phone in advance. One post gives corkage as 50,000 won for one bottle per table.
  • The menu can change on the day: one post got the bean stir-fry instead of the listed cauliflower without explanation, another was told the beans had run out and got cauliflower, and one couple was told courses were unavailable that day and ordered à la carte.
