Bistro Anthro
비스트로 앤트로 Biseuteuro Aenteuro Anthro is short for anthropology: the chef reworks dishes from many food cultures with seasonal ingredients.
Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →
A bistro on the ground floor of a side street in Sinsa-dong, a 5-10 minute walk from Apgujeong Station exit 4. It belongs to chef Yoon Areum, who appeared as the "Angry Korean" on Culinary Class Wars season 2, and the seasonal menu is meant for sharing several plates. Prices in the 2026 posts run 26,000-29,000 won for starters, 31,000-33,000 won for pasta and 44,000-74,000 won for meat dishes. Ordering alcohol is required at dinner but not at lunch. The most-ordered dishes are the lemon fresh pasta (18 posts) and the fried eggplant with hummus (15). We read 30 posts from December 2024 to October 2026. 28 describe an actual visit; the other 2 only list the name among local restaurants.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Most posts say the portions are small: 7 posts say so, against 2 that found them generous. One table of four paid 178,000 won for four dishes and drinks and went elsewhere to finish eating. Another group of four paid about 220,000 won and felt only two-thirds full. A party of seven ordered some dishes twice and still ran short. The 2 generous verdicts come from the 2024 Christmas course and an April 2025 visit. One post recommends at least three dishes for two people.
- There is a private room set apart from the main hall, and 13 posts saw or used it. Two posts describe bridal showers for seven held there in May and August 2026. Both describe it as glass on all sides and opening onto a small garden. The room fees (300,000 won at lunch and 500,000 won at dinner for five or fewer) and the 13-person capacity are copied from the restaurant's own listing.
- The kitchen is fully open to the dining room, and 12 posts mention it. One saw three chefs cooking; another watched a whole squid being steamed and simmered. A post seated right at the pass on Christmas 2024 said the kitchen looked frantic, and a steak came out at the wrong doneness and had to be redone.
- Alcohol is required at dinner, and 4 posts ordered drinks for that reason. A diner who had driven ordered non-alcoholic sparkling wine at 20,000 won a glass. A pregnant diner was allowed lemonade instead. Two posts note that lunch carries no drink requirement.
2 more
- 15 posts booked ahead through CatchTable or Naver. One was told a same-day cancellation would cost 40,000 won, and another paid a 40,000 won deposit. A January 2026 post says bookings were full for weeks after the show aired.
- Two posts brought a dog. The May 2025 visitor was asked to bring it in a carrier or stroller.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
6 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
No post describes the floor from experience. The address says ground floor, and posts mention seeing the room through glass from the alley, but nobody actually confirms it.
Nobody says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. One post was told to bring a dog in a stroller but did not describe getting it inside.
No post mentions the toilets, whether they are inside or separated by gender. That means we don't know, not that there are none.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2025-12-16 | 2 posts in one day |

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The restaurant has not moved. What changed is the closing days. Posts from May 2025 to 1 March 2026 copy a Sunday-only closure; posts from 30 March 2026 on say it closes Sundays and Mondays.
- All opening hours are copied from the restaurant's listing. Posts from 30 March 2026 on agree on Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00-22:00, with a 15:00-17:30 break. Seven say it closes Sundays and Mondays and two say Mondays only. Only one gives a last order time, 20:30.
- Opinions on price are split: 4 posts call it expensive, 3 say it is not, and 4 discuss price without a verdict. Menu prices also change with the season. The lemon pasta was 31,000 won until August 2026 and 33,000 won from September, and the fried eggplant went from 19,000 won in April 2025 to 26,000 won in 2026.
- Corkage is 40,000 won a bottle. An April 2025 post said buying one bottle waived corkage on one you brought. A March 2026 visitor went expecting that, was told it no longer applied, and paid the 40,000 won.
- No post describes queueing; nearly everyone booked. A Friday evening in December 2025 was fully booked, and a weekday lunch in September 2026 had no other diners at all. We do not know what happens if you walk in.
- Five posts give the phone number as 02-6448-1887 and one gives 0507-1392-1887. Most posts say reservations go through CatchTable or Naver.
- A few posts may be promotional. One from August 2026 introduces a Prosecco wine campaign, and three only list dishes and praise. None disclose sponsorship, so we counted them, but they describe little firsthand experience.
