을지수제비 A forty-year-old shop in a Euljiro printers' alley serving hand-torn noodles in oyster broth, brought to the table in a covered earthenware pot
Korean · Jung-gu, Euljiro 3-ga
Data as of · Published ·
Eulji Sujebi is a hand-torn-noodle shop in the printers' alley between exits 7 and 8 at Euljiro 3-ga station, under a pink sign, about forty years old by several accounts. The dough goes into a broth with oysters and prawns, and from two portions up it comes to the table in a lidded earthenware pot that everyone ladles from. The thing to have with it is a kimchi or potato pancake — and though it is not on the board, you can ask for one of each. Two kimchis come as side dishes, a fresh-cut cabbage one and a young-radish one, and they are written about nearly as much as the noodles. Weekdays only, shut between three and five: this is a canteen for the office and printing trades around it, and at lunchtime there is a queue. In the evening it turns into a drinking house over pancakes and makgeolli. The posts we read run from October 2024 to June 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The advice these writers repeat most is not to order one each. Three of them order one portion fewer than there are people and add a pancake. A party of four women found three portions and a half-and-half plate exactly right, and say ordering four would have been a disaster; a party of five took four portions and one kimchi pancake; another reckons three does for four people. One writer, who once asked for extra and got it, describes finishing it on willpower alone. One dissents: eating alone at two in the afternoon, served a single portion in a steel bowl, they found the famous mountain of food merely ordinary. The pot starts at two portions; one comes in a bowl.
- There is a lunch queue, and half an hour decides it. Four writers arriving at 11:20, 11:30 or 11:40 sat straight down — and two of them found a line outside on the way out, one of them timing it: full house and a queue four minutes after they got in. Those arriving around noon waited behind two to four groups, and all of them put the wait under ten minutes; six remark on how fast the tables turn. Those who came at two in the afternoon, or in the evening after the break, had the room to themselves. One regular calls it a place that always has a queue, worse when it rains. Two note that orders are taken while you wait.
- "Cramped" and "plenty of tables" turn up in the same sentence here. Four writers put it that way — tight but with enough seats to keep turning over — and two count about ten tables. Five mention how close together they are. A party of more than four may be split up: one writer thinks four is the maximum at a table and advises coming in small groups; a party of five ordered from two tables; another warns that groups get divided when it is busy. One writer, alone among them, simply calls the seating ample.
- The kimchi gets written about as much as the noodles. Two kinds come with every order — a fresh-cut cabbage one and a young-radish one — and thirteen writers say something about them, one understanding why people come back for the kimchi alone, another calling it a kimchi shop as much as anything. They refill it: one regular asks every visit; another got through more than three rounds and notes the staff brought them quickly even while rushed. The young radish cuts the hot broth, the cabbage goes on top of the noodles, and the writers divide neatly on which they prefer. Every table has chilli steeped in soy sauce, and nine recommend stirring it into the broth — though two warn it turns salty if you overdo it.

Parking

There is no parking. Three writers say so from their own eyes: no space to speak of, being down an alley; nowhere to park; no car park, use a public one nearby. Four more list "no parking" in a block of details, which we have not counted. Two point to a municipal car park nearby, but nobody says which or what it costs. All six who describe walking here name exit 7 or exit 8 at Euljiro 3-ga — one of them walked over from Chungmuro in ten or twenty minutes.

Getting there

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for the address instead.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 1 (of 25 posts read) |

No post says what floor it is on. Nobody mentions a basement or an upstairs, and nobody mentions stairs. The directions are all about the alley: in off the main road, at the mouth of the lane, a pink sign standing out among small print shops, hidden down the lane past the police box, look for the marker and go in. It reads like a place you walk into off the alley, but since nobody wrote the floor down, that is all we will say.
Not one post touches on thresholds, ramps, or getting in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. Across all twenty-six, none of those words appears, nor "steps". We know it is down an alley, that five writers describe the tables as jammed together, and that one mentions cold air coming in when the door opens. Several say it is tight between tables, which may make wheels difficult — but that is our inference, not anything anyone wrote. Whether there is a step at the door, we do not know.
Two posts mention the toilet, and they do not agree. One lists it flatly as being outside the shop. The other went to it and came back with a verdict — a step back in time, not especially clean, but fair enough for a place this old — and mentions passing the pancake griddle on the way, which suggests going out through the shop. Whether it belongs to the building or the restaurant, and whether it is shared, we could not establish. The other twenty-four posts never mention it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Some things cannot be had at lunch. Two writers report that the knife-cut noodles start only after 12:30 — one of them turned away while craving them — and a third, at two in the afternoon, was told they take a long time. The mixed pancake platter and the oyster pancake are evening dishes: two writers came at midday for the platter and left without it. Three note that this leaves only the kimchi and potato pancakes, or the two halved, at lunch. Four say the range widens in the evening, when it becomes food to drink over. In all twenty-six posts, nobody ate the knife-cut noodles — despite their sitting next to the sujebi on the board and being named a house dish more than once.
- Six posts say it is reachable on foot from the station, but they disagree on the exit. One says exit 8 and it is right there in the alley; another says exit 7 and not far; a third puts it between 7 and 8, tucked between buildings. The walking times given run from one minute to three to five — and most of those sit in a block of copied details, so we cannot tell who actually walked. Only one post narrates the walk, twenty minutes or so over from Chungmuro. Euljiro 3-ga is where lines 2 and 3 meet.
- For all the praise, one thing divides these writers cleanly: the thickness of the dough. Eight call it thick — four of them happily, for the chew, and three wishing it were more even or more thinly torn. One chewed so hard their jaw hurt for two days. The broth divides them too: deep and clean is the majority verdict, but one writer found it bland, salty and mostly pepper, and two settle on "perfectly fine" — a good lunch rather than a discovery. One writer says outright they will not return: eating alone, told their card would not go through, they paid by transfer and left convinced they had been managed rather than served. One more records a curt exchange, having asked at two in the afternoon for their noodles to be boiled fresh. The rest describe the women who run it as kind.
- Not one post declares a sponsorship. We read the bodies and the hashtags to the end and found no "provided for review" line. Four writers state they paid; a fifth put "I paid" in the title and then recorded in the body that the boss had bought lunch, so we counted it as being treated. Twenty-six posts are twenty-six people, spread evenly from October 2024 to June 2026, with no batch of near-identical posts on a single day. We cannot vouch for the hours being current, though: sixteen posts give the same 11:00–21:00 with a three-to-five break, but fourteen of those put it in a block of details at the top rather than in the body, and such blocks may be copied from one another. Two say it opens every day — and those same two are the only ones that give no closing day.
