Bongbongba
봉봉바 Bongbong is the Korean spelling of bonbon, the French word for a sweet, and the bar's Instagram handle spells it bonbonbar; on Naver it is listed as Euljiro Yajang Bongbongba, yajang being Korean slang for drinking at street-side tables.

A small Japanese-style standing bar (tachinomi) at 7 Chungmuro 7-gil, ground floor, close to Exit 10 of Euljiro 3-ga Station. Snacks such as vinegar-cured mackerel, spring-onion takoyaki and karaage cost between 7,900 and 16,900 won; draft beer is 5,900 won and the house highball 7,900 won. You drink either outside at drum and beer-crate tables or inside at cramped two-seat tables and a bar counter. Many posts describe stopping in for a second or third round. We read 29 posts dated 4 August to 15 October 2026; 28 of them record an actual visit.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- 20 posts mention the outdoor tables in front, which they describe as drums and beer crates topped with boards. Posts disagree on how many there are: one says two two-seat tables, others say three. Posts written after weekday visits at about 6:30 and 6:40 pm found the outdoor seats already taken and sat inside.
- 12 posts say the interior is cramped. One says your back keeps bumping the person behind you; another jokes that leaning back even slightly brings you into contact with the next table. Posts say there is a single four-seat table by the door and the rest are two-seaters; one counted seven two-seat tables plus a long standing counter. The common advice is to go alone or as a pair rather than in a group.
- 4 posts mention baskets or plastic crates beside or under the tables for bags, so in this tight space you don't have to put things on the floor.
- 5 posts say the kitchen is open and you can watch the cooking; posts also note the karaage and takoyaki come out freshly fried and hot.
6 more
- 8 posts say, in their own words, that it is an easy walk from the station: from Exit 10 of Euljiro 3-ga Station they put it at one minute, 90 metres, under three minutes and within five minutes. One writer came straight from work on Line 3.
- 11 posts say it is not expensive. One reached no clear verdict, noting the soft drinks were pricey so they had a non-alcoholic cocktail instead. From a copied menu: salads 7,900 won, bonito udon 13,900, mackerel, monkfish liver and karaage 15,900, fish-cake stew 16,900, highballs 7,900 to 9,900.
- 12 posts drank draft beer. Kelly draft is 5,900 won; some posts ordered Kirin draft instead.
- 5 posts went with friends, most of them dropping in for a light drink after dinner elsewhere.
- 4 posts went with a partner or spouse.
- 1 post went alone after work and had draft beer and cured mackerel.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 1 (of 27 posts read) |
|---|
No post describes the floor from experience; we only have the '1st floor' in the address. That isn't evidence either way, just that nobody wrote about it.
We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in; no post says. Several posts do say the tables are packed close together.
1 post describes the toilet: you use the building's toilet outside the bar, and the building is very dark. The claim that there are separate men's and women's toilets appears only in copied listing info, so we don't rely on it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- 3 posts say the seats are uncomfortable for a long stay; none say they are comfortable.
- Posts from 23 August and 9 September 2026 say the bar sells no soju. A 5 October post lists soju among the drinks; it may mean Japanese shochu, but we can't tell.
- Opinions on portions split: 5 posts found them large and 2 found them modest. On the basil pasta alone, one writer left some because there was too much while another found it small.
- Posts split two to two on noise: two call it calm and not loud, two say the music is loud and the room is boisterous.
- 1 post (23 August 2026) says they queued, to get an outdoor seat. Several posts arrived at opening time and watched the place fill up soon after, but none says how long a wait lasts.
- All opening hours come from copied listing info. Posts up to 14 September 2026 give Sunday–Thursday 18:00–24:00 and Friday–Saturday 18:00–03:00; from 18 September, posts say Friday and Saturday open at 17:30, and five of them say Thursday also opens at 17:30. One 16 August post had weekdays and weekends swapped, so we left it out. Only one post says there is no regular day off.
- Four posts price the cured mackerel at 15,900 won; one from 6 October 2026 says 15,000. We can't tell whether the price dropped or it was a typo.
- 11 posts give the phone number 0507-1483-8857. No one says they actually booked; one post simply labels the number as the reservation line.
- Some posts were sponsored: 4 disclose sponsorship or free service, and 1 carries only a review-programme banner. Seven posts end with the same 29 hashtags. Three of them, all posted on 10 August 2026, disclose sponsorship and the other four say nothing. They may come from the same campaign, but each records an actual meal, so we counted them.
