Baegyeom Makchang
백염막창 Baegyeom means white salt — the house says it ages its pork large intestine (makchang) in blended salt.
Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →
A Daegu-style pork makchang house down an alley off the sea-snail street near Euljiro 3-ga station. Whole pre-grilled makchang (17,000 won a portion) comes with leeks and enoki; you cut it and finish it on the table grill, then dip it in the soybean dipping paste. The marinated version (18,000 won) arrives fully cooked from the kitchen. Sides such as cold kimchi noodles, soybean-paste stew and salted-fish fried rice are 9,000 won. One post paid 65,500 won for two portions of makchang, a side and a bottle of soju. We read 30 posts dated 25 July to 20 October 2026; two were about other restaurants, and all 28 remaining are first-hand visits. Twenty-four of them were posted in October 2026. Ten went with friends, five with a partner or spouse, and one as a family with a child.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The makchang arrives pre-grilled and whole, sixteen posts say. Grilling instructions on the wall and on the chopstick sleeves tell you to brown it, cut it about 6 mm thick, and cook the cut faces. One post says staff stepped in now and then to adjust the heat, but most treat the grilling as the diner's job.
- The first order must be at least two portions of the same dish, six posts say. One couple tried to order one plain and one marinated and were told no; another notes that after the first order you can add single portions.
- Twelve posts say a bowl of warm soybean curd pulp came free when they sat down; it is also on the menu at 5,000 won. The standard setting is perilla leaves, green-onion kimchi, garlic, ssamjang and salt, plus chopped chili and scallion to mix into the dipping paste.
- Thirteen posts say the makchang had no gamey smell; none says it did. We don't count the house's own line about salt-ageing removing the odour. Six posts call the makchang thick. One found it thick but too small a portion to bother coming back.
4 more
- You order by scanning the QR code on the table, eleven posts say; one adds that water, aprons and blankets are requested the same way.
- The front opens onto the alley, with some outdoor seating; eight posts sat there or noted it. One says it is really just a few extra seats outside, not a true street-stall setup, and arrived at 5 p.m. to get one. Inside there are roughly nine or ten round tables, one post counts.
- Expect to wait in the evening: six posts mention queues. One found only a 9 p.m. reservation left on a Friday; one saw a line at 9 p.m. on a Thursday before a holiday; one says waits are common at the 6–7 p.m. peak. One walked in straight after work around 6 p.m. with no wait, and another arrived for the 3 p.m. opening. Six posts booked through Naver, and there is a CatchTable kiosk at the door for walk-in waitlists.
- It's a one-to-three-minute walk from exit 11 of Euljiro 3-ga station; seven posts say the station made it easy. Several posts copy the same directions: past Eulji Odeng, then the alley to the left of the Eulsam Golbaengi building.

Parking

Assume no parking. Only one post speaks from experience: the alley is barely wide enough for one car. The 'no parking' lines elsewhere are copied info blocks. Posts suggest nearby public car parks.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
It's a one-to-three-minute walk from exit 11 of Euljiro 3-ga station; seven posts say the station made it easy. Several posts copy the same directions: past Eulji Odeng, then the alley to the left of the Eulsam Golbaengi building.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 1 of 27 posts |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | yes 1 · no 1 (of 27 posts read) |
No post describes which floor it is on from experience; only the address says ground floor. That isn't evidence otherwise — nobody wrote about it.
We don't know whether there's a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits; no post says. We only know the front opens onto the alley.
The two posts that describe the toilets disagree. A September post says they are inside the restaurant and separated by sex; an October post says there seemed to be a single shared stall and the washbasin area was cramped. The 'separate toilets' line in copied info blocks is not counted.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- It runs loud: five posts describe it as noisy and hard for quiet conversation. One post differs, saying the soft retro music made it easy to talk.
- Seventeen posts give the same opening hours: daily 15:00–24:00, last order 23:00. All but one copy this from an info block. One post says there is no regular closing day. Nobody mentions holiday hours.
- Prices are the same in every post from July to October. Three October posts give 180 g per portion; one July post says 200 g before grilling — we can't tell whether it shrank or was weighed differently. One post finds the 9,000-won sides pricey for sides; another says they're a bit steep but worth it.
- The 24 October 2026 posts repeat the same phrases — salt-aged with a precise blend, soybean dipping paste ground in-house, 104 m from exit 11 — which looks like copy from a house brief for sponsored reviewers, though none discloses sponsorship. Three posts say they paid their own way, and one of those had earlier visited via the Supermembers review platform in June–July.
- Many posts copy the same phone number, 0507-1357-9298. Six booked through Naver; for group bookings posts just say to ask the restaurant. One post's copy of the menu lists corkage at 20,000 won a bottle.
