Yewolsu Jokbal Myeongga

예월수족발명가 Ye Wol-su is the owner's own name (posts point to his résumé on the wall), and jokbal myeongga means a renowned house of braised pig's trotters; the old name Yega Jokbal read as the Ye family's jokbal.

Compiled from 26 blog posts read in fullSources →

A charcoal-grilled jokbal house on the ground floor at 1424 Yangjae-daero, by the Gildong intersection in Gangdong-gu, Seoul. The core dishes are braised pig's trotters finished over charcoal and a half-and-half plate of plain and spicy, with perilla seaweed soup served free alongside. We read 30 posts from 13 August to 25 October 2026 and counted 29 as actual visits (one only ate takeout at home). Twenty-one ordered the half-and-half; the medium was 42,000 won in August and 45,000 won in three October posts. Five took food away. The place used to be called Yega Jokbal, and an August 2026 post already noted the new name; many writers still use the old one.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Nine posts call the portions large. One who took away the medium, billed as 2.5 servings, said it felt like three to three and a half; a pair sharing a medium half-and-half still had some left over. Another said the takeout bag came nearly full once the sides and noodles were packed in.
  2. Four posts mention high chairs and five went with children. One family booked ahead and found a baby chair ready; another saw the chairs by the entrance. Parents ordered the rice balls for their kids, and one child drank the perilla soup straight from the bowl.
  3. Six posts asked for more side dishes. One noted staff coming by to ask what else was needed; in another the owner brought extra lettuce and praised the child eating it. Sides are refilled freely, but two posts say a second bowl of the soup costs 2,000 won. Seven posts call the staff or owner kind.
  4. Five posts say you order on a tablet or kiosk at the table; one adds that a paper menu was there too.

Parking

15 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park15 of 26 posts

Fifteen posts say there is parking right in front; four did not settle it. How much parking is disputed: one counted room for about three cars at a time, one mentioned both an underground and a surface lot, and one said an attendant was on hand. One weekday-evening visitor who walked said the lot was so full it looked hard to find a space.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 26 posts read)

No one described the entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. 'Wheelchair accessible' appears only in a copied listing block, so we do not rely on it. One post noted firsthand that it is on the ground floor facing the main road. Unknown, not absent.

No one reported firsthand where the toilet is. One post relayed hearsay that it is outside, down the building corridor and half a flight down, and a copied listing says it is gender-separated; we counted neither.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • How hot the spicy trotters are is split: four posts call it spicy (one of them about the octopus), three say it is not, one is unclear. One compares it to slightly hotter than Shin Ramyun, another to milder than Shin Ramyun, and another found it hotter than expected. One post says you can pay 1,000 won to add chili heat.
  • No post says the writer had to wait. One claims even weekday dinners need a wait but did not wait themselves; another found it nearly full at dinner apart from reserved tables and was glad to have booked.
  • All opening hours come from copied listing blocks. The most common are weekdays 12:00–23:00 (eleven posts) and Sundays 11:00–22:30 (seven), with Saturday mostly 11:00–23:00. One post reversed the weekday and weekend openings and another gave a 22:30 weekday close, so check before going.
  • Prices vary by date: the medium half-and-half was 42,000 won in August 2026, 44,000 in two September posts, 45,000 in three October posts, and 43,000 in one October post. The takeout discount is given as 5,000 won by one post and 3,000 by another. Most pairs spent around 50,000 won on a medium plus rice balls or drinks.
  • Twelve posts list the phone number 0507-1419-7757. Only one writer said they booked ahead, and nobody described how booking works.
  • Twenty-five posts from mid-September to late October 2026 announce, in the same order, a new branch opening in late October by Bangi Market in Songpa-gu, and many share an identical hashtag string. Three disclose sponsorship or support, three say the food was provided, and twenty-two say nothing. The Bangi branch is a separate store; this page covers the original Gildong shop.
