Nodaji Pocha

노다지포차 Nodaji means a gold strike or bonanza, a rich vein of ore; pocha is short for pojangmacha, the tented street drinking stall.

Compiled from 14 blog posts read in fullSources →

Nodaji Pocha is a street-side drinking stall on the Jongno 3-ga pojangmacha strip, with tarps and plastic tables set out in the lane and a few tables inside. Most dishes, like stir-fried tripe, steamed egg with pollock roe and clam soup, cost about 20,000 won, and soju and beer are 5,000 won. Four posts say you must order at least two dishes to sit. We read 23 posts from October 2024 to October 2026; 14 describe a visit. Eight roundup posts repeating the same copy were not counted, and one lottery article was discarded.

Location & hours

What sets it apart

  1. The outdoor tables come with a two-hour limit. Six posts ran into it; the owner tells you when time is up and asks for payment about twenty minutes before. One post says that past two hours you must order another dish each hour, even on a weekday, and another had to order an extra dish to move from an inside table to the street.
  2. Eight of the visit posts call it expensive and six say portions are small. One group of three ordered three dishes plus drinks and paid close to 90,000 won.
  3. Waits vary. Four posts waited: 10 minutes, 15 to 20, 20, and over 30. Six sat down right away. One post explains there is no name list; you simply stand in line out front.

Getting inside

Toilet inside8 of 14 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 14 posts read)

No post describes the floor or any steps; the ground-floor label is from the registered address.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means no one mentioned it, not that there is no barrier.

There is a toilet inside, noted by eight posts. Three say it is cramped, three that there is no washbasin, and one that it is unisex. Two say it is a single stall; one writer gave up on the line and went elsewhere.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 22 posts we gathered, 8 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Service splits two to two: two posts found the owners curt, two found them kind, including an extra serving of roe on the house. One said they were neither rude nor friendly.
  • Prices have gone up. Posts from October and November 2024 list tripe, clam soup and the roe steamed egg at 18,000 won; 2026 posts list them at 20,000. Two 2026 visits paid 22,000 won for boneless chicken feet, while the 20,000 in roundups is a copied figure.
  • Five of the eight roundup posts come from a single blog, and all eight repeat the same lines about steamed skate, free bean-sprout soup and tarps, with the same prices. None of the fourteen visits ordered the skate.
  • We do not know the opening hours. Three posts said they could not find them and roundups just say to ask. The street tables went out at 8 p.m. on an October 2024 Thursday and around 5:30 p.m. in a September 2026 post; we cannot tell whether that varies by day or changed.
  • Three posts give the phone number 02-762-8873. None says whether reservations are taken.
  • Nine posts went with friends. None went alone or with family or children, so we cannot say how it suits them.
