설빙 홍대입구역점 Seolbing Hongdae-ipguyeok-jeom Seolbing joins the Sino-Korean syllables for snow and ice — the chain serves bingsu shaved from milk ice.

Sulbing's Hongik University Station branch is a bingsu chain shop on the second floor of a building on Hongik-ro 6-gil, near Exit 9. You order at a kiosk, pick up your bowl when the buzzer goes or your number shows on the screen, and leave the dishes at a return station. Bowls in the posts ran from 9,900 won (injeolmi) to 19,000 won (fruit punch bingsu); melon was the most-ordered, in four posts. Most writers dropped in for dessert after eating elsewhere in Hongdae. We read 26 posts from February 2025 to September 2026; 23 record an actual visit.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Expect a lot of tourists. Seven posts said the room was full of foreign visitors — one, at 10 p.m. on a weekend, said most of the customers were foreign. One noticed Wi-Fi details posted all over the shop, another saw cash-payment notices in English, Chinese and Japanese. One post said Alipay, WeChat Pay and KakaoPay are not accepted.
- The room is large. Six posts called it spacious and three said there were plenty of seats — even at a crowded 10 p.m. on a weekend, one found no shortage of tables. One post found it a bit noisy. Two mentioned a photo booth inside.
- Ordering is by kiosk, as five posts described; two of them saw a long line at the kiosks. One said cash is paid at the counter.
- Six posts found the bowls sweet; only one, about the red bean-matcha bowl, said it was less sweet than expected. Condensed milk comes on the side so you can add as much as you like, and one post said you can take more from the counter.
2 more
- Three posts said it is close to Hongik University Station Exit 9 — one put it at a one-minute walk, another at two.
- Fourteen posts went with friends, and two describe parties of six. One went with a younger sibling, one on a date, one with children.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 5 of 20 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 5 (of 20 posts read) |
| Toilet inside | 1 of 20 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 20 posts |
It is upstairs. Five posts said the shop is on the second floor, two of them that they walked up a staircase. Two noted menu posters and bingsu photos lining the way up.
No post mentions a step at the entrance, an elevator, or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — that means nobody wrote about it, not that there is none. Two posts climbed stairs to the second floor.
The restrooms are inside the shop and separated by gender: two posts mentioned the separation, one placed them inside next to the return station. One said the women's room has three stalls and was clean.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 23 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- We know little about waiting. No post waited for a table, and one found it relaxed even on a weekend. One waited 10–15 minutes for the bingsu because of the crowd; another said food came out quickly.
- Opening hours disagree. Four posts list noon to midnight daily (one from June 2025, two from June 2026, one from August 2026); three from July–August 2026 list noon to 2 a.m. Most of these are copied listings, so we can't tell whether that is a summer extension or a lasting change. Three posts say it is open every day.
- Opinions on price split one each way: one post balked at 19,000 won for the fruit punch bingsu, one found 17,500 won for the Dubai chocolate bowl less than feared, and one called the prices not exactly cheap. Prices for the same bowls were unchanged between June 2025 and August 2026 (10,900 won for red bean injeolmi, 14,500 for apple-mango cheese).
- Four posts give the same phone number, 02-323-3287. None says whether reservations are taken.
- Two posts are guide-style write-ups built from listing data and review statistics with no sign of a visit; we didn't count them. No post disclosed sponsorship, and four said they paid their own way.
