Hello Yangkkochi

헬로양꼬치 Yangkkochi means lamb skewers; 'Hello' is simply the English greeting, also painted on the wall mural.

Compiled from 8 blog posts read in fullSources →

A lamb-skewer house at Donggyo-ro 179, near exit 1 of Hongik University Station. Plain, marinated, soy and mala skewers all cost 16,000 won for eight, turning over charcoal at each table. Many posts added fried eggplant, hot corn noodles (8,000 won) or cold naengmyeon. Three posts said you fetch your own drinks and water from the fridge and dispenser. We read 8 posts from November 2024 to September 2026, all from people who ate there.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Six posts said peanuts, zha cai and pickled cabbage come out as free sides; two described the cabbage as tangy.
  2. Four posts said the lamb had no gamey smell, one of them from someone who usually avoids lamb for that reason. None reported a gamey taste.
  3. Five posts came from repeat visitors, including a local who said they had been more than thirty times and another on their fourth visit.
  4. A November 2024 post said Naver Map listed 14,000 won a portion while the shop charged 16,000; every later post also recorded 16,000.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post said which floor it is on. One mentioned seeing inside through the front glass from the street, but that doesn't confirm the floor.

We don't know about a step at the entrance or wheelchair and stroller access. That doesn't mean there's a barrier; nobody wrote about it.

We don't know whether the toilet is inside or split by gender; nobody mentioned it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Five posts agree on 16,000 won per portion of skewers; none totalled a full meal. A regular writing in November 2024 recalled it once being 10,000 won for ten skewers, so the price has risen since. One post called the prices fair.
  • Waiting is split. A July 2026 post found it full with a queue on a Friday; a March post walked straight in on a Friday evening. Another was the first customer around 7pm on a weekday. With one report each way, we can't say which is typical.
  • Two posts called the staff friendly. One said a server answered other tables but ignored theirs, though the owner splitting their naengmyeon into two bowls made up for it.
  • Three posts said it is close to exit 1 of Hongik University Station, one saying a two- to three-minute walk. No one mentioned buses.
  • Four posts said who they went with, and all were drinking outings with friends. None went with family or children, so we can't say how it suits them.
  • Opening hours come only from copied listings. Four posts from June to September 2026 agree: Monday and Tuesday 4pm to 4am, Wednesday to Sunday noon to 4am. A July 2025 post gave 3pm daily and a March 2026 post noon daily. No post mentioned a closing day.
  • Two posts listed the phone number 010-9671-8868. None said whether reservations are taken.
