어차 연남점 Eocha Yeonnam-jeom Eocha (御茶) means tea offered to the king; the house's own line is that it serves 'the tea once offered to kings, to you today.'

Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →

Eocha is a tea room on the third floor of a building facing Hongik Univ. Station exit 3, overlooking the Gyeongui Line Forest Park. You steep pu-erh, white tea, oolong or matcha at your table, and in summer it serves shaved ice made from frozen tea. Prices in the posts: pu-erh 'boicano' ₩5,000, milk teas ₩7,000, matcha ₩12,000, tangerine-peel white tea ₩15,000–18,000, silver-needle ₩25,000, shaved ice ₩9,800 and ₩12,000. Several writers noted that tea comes with a thermos of hot water so you can keep re-steeping. We read 30 posts from September 2025 to October 2026; 24 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The window seats are the draw: 13 posts wrote about the light or the view down onto the forest park, three of them at sunset. One writer moved seats because the midday sun was too strong.
  2. Eleven posts called it quiet, often mentioning low gayageum or piano music. One disagreed: an August 2026 visit found it crowded with tourists and too busy to linger quietly.
  3. The shaved ice is single-serve: four posts called it small, and three said each person must order something, so pairs tended to order both flavours.
  4. Posting a Naver review earns a free taster cake, and following on Instagram or Kakao earns a pu-erh tea bag; six posts mention receiving these. None disclosed sponsorship, but that many got something.

  1. Tea comes with a small sweet; three posts mention buckwheat chips, a persimmon roll or biscuits they didn't order.

The most ordered dish is boicha remon bingsu (보이차 레몬빙수) — 10 of 24 posts.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 13 (of 24 posts read)
Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 4 (of 24 posts read)
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 3 (of 24 posts read)

It is stairs only to the third floor. Four posts said there is no elevator and seven called the stairs steep or narrow; one warned it would be hard going with bad knees.

Nobody wrote about getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — that's silence, not a no — but several posts describe steep stairs to the third floor with no elevator.

The toilet is the building's, beside the third-floor entrance, not inside the tea room; three posts said so and one called it cramped.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on price split: three posts found it expensive, two called it good value, two said it depends on what you pick. A visit runs ₩7,000–25,000 for tea plus ₩9,800–12,000 for shaved ice. The tangerine-peel white tea was ₩18,000 in one June 2026 post and ₩15,000 in an October one.
  • Three posts mention waiting, and they differ: two found no wait (Saturday evening, a weekday at 7pm), one saw it fill up around 3pm with people turned away. The two-hour limit when there's a queue is the shop's own notice, copied into posts.
  • No post describes a group visit. Nine went with a friend and two alone; one writer felt the small tables suit one or two people better than a group.
  • Opening hours changed: posts from January and March 2026 list Saturday 12:00–21:00 and Sunday from 12:30 or 13:00, while eleven posts from June 2026 on all give 12:00–20:00 daily with no closing day — mostly copied from the shop's listing.
  • Five posts copied the phone number 070-4110-2027. Nobody wrote about booking a table; the Naver reservations mentioned are for tea sets and tea classes.
  • The shaved ice changed too: a September 2025 post had a pu-erh-matcha-lemon version; from June 2026 posts describe a reworked pu-erh lemon ice and a new osmanthus-oolong melon one. Whether they run outside summer, nobody said.
