Ihwajeong Galbi Myeongga & Mikkodam Magok Balsan
이화정갈비명가 & 미꼬담 마곡발산점 Ihwajeong (梨花亭) means 'pear-blossom pavilion' — the galbi house leans on pear in its marinade; Mikkodam, the sister shop next door, is short for 'holding seaweed and cockles' (miyeok and kkomak).

Two sister restaurants share the ground floor of 42 Gangseo-ro 54-gil, about three minutes' walk from Exit 4 of Balsan Station. Ihwajeong (unit 1) is a charcoal galbi house where staff grill for you; boneless marinated pork neck is 23,000 won for 300 g, and pear sorbet comes after the meal. Mikkodam (unit 2) serves set tables of seaweed soup, cockle bibim and grilled mackerel at 46,000 won for two or 62,000 for three. We read 30 posts dated September 12 to October 25, 2026; 26 describe actual visits (18 Ihwajeong, 8 Mikkodam). Four Ihwajeong posts came from the shop's own blog and were not counted. One writer noted the building used to house a different galbi restaurant.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- At Ihwajeong the staff do the grilling: 16 of the 18 visits said so (the other two had the rib soup or didn't say). Several noted it isn't all the way through — staff par-grill, move the meat to a plate, and you finish small batches yourself. One diner wrote that when the dinner crowd arrived, they grilled the second round themselves.
- Both restaurants have private rooms; 20 visits mentioned them (14 Ihwajeong, 6 Mikkodam). Mikkodam's rooms were described as seating 6–8 and 12. One family found the rooms fully booked and sat in the hall; another booked by phone after Naver filled up, found the booking logged for the next day, and was seated in a room anyway.
- Orders and side refills go through a tablet or kiosk at the table: ten visits ordered that way and eight mentioned refills. One noted separate buttons for sides and grill changes; Mikkodam posts said even the spicy pork side is refillable.
- Twelve visits called the portions large; a boneless 300 g pork portion meant two portions fed two. One Mikkodam diner said the rice serving was big. No post called it expensive; five said the price was fair.

Parking
16 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Parking looks easy: 16 visits parked or described the lot, and six mentioned a four-storey parking building for 77 cars. One driver said it took about 20 seconds from car to door. The free period differs: five posts say three hours, one says two; several mention getting the ticket stamped at checkout.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 26 posts read) |
|---|
No one wrote about steps, thresholds, or wheelchair or stroller access, so we simply don't know. One post said the parking building connects to the restaurant at ground level, and another described a direct corridor from the lot.
No one described the restrooms from experience. Two Mikkodam posts list separate men's and women's restrooms, but that is copied from the Naver listing.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions split on the marinade's sweetness: two posts called it sweet, three said it was not sugary. The 'organic pear' and '144-hour aging' lines are the shop's own claims, repeated by bloggers, and we did not count them.
- No post reported waiting, but the three that walked straight in came at quiet hours — 4 p.m. at Ihwajeong and 3 p.m. twice at Mikkodam. We don't know the wait at peak times; one writer said Friday noon is the busiest.
- Nine visits described the walk from the station, mostly three minutes from Balsan Exit 4; one said Exit 3. No one mentioned buses.
- Fourteen visits list the same hours, 11:00–22:00 daily; four Ihwajeong posts add last order at 20:30, and several say there is no afternoon break. Most of this is copied from the Naver listing.
- Prices are from October 2026 posts. One post saw Mikkodam's set marked down from 52,000 to 46,000 won for two; we don't know whether that will last. Beyond the 23,000-won pork, few Ihwajeong posts gave a full meal cost.
- The two shops have different phone numbers: 0507-1317-1113 for Ihwajeong and 0507-1355-1116 for Mikkodam, each cited by six posts. The shop's own blog gives 02-2063-1113 for room bookings and says Naver reservations close the day before.
- This one listing covers two restaurants. The counts above combine both; grilling service and pear sorbet belong to Ihwajeong, the set tables and mackerel to Mikkodam. All 30 posts fall within six weeks; none disclosed sponsorship, though one mentioned coming through a review platform.
