AANGAN
아건 Ageon Aangan is the Hindi and Nepali word for the open courtyard of a home; the restaurant's own website, copied into two posts, renders it as 'beautiful garden'.

An Indian restaurant on the second floor of a building on the main street from Ewha Womans University Station exit 2 to the university's front gate, across from Starbucks. People eat curry with naan bigger than a hand or with turmeric rice, alongside tandoori chicken, samosas and lassi. We read 30 posts from September 2025 to October 2026; 29 describe eating here (one was about the waffle shop in the same building). The two-person Aangan Course A was the most ordered, by 17 posts, and stayed at 35,000 won throughout. At lunch there is a one-person set for 10,900 won. Six posts mention a candle under the curry bowl that keeps it warm, and six mention after-meal fennel seeds and sugar crystals by the till.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Portions are large. Nineteen posts said so and none said they were small. One wrote that even course A leaves you with most of it uneaten; six said they were too full to take the free naan and rice refill that comes with set orders, and only one actually did.
- You order from a tablet or kiosk at each table; eight posts said so, and one noted that tapping a dish shows a description, which helps first-timers.
- Even the curries labelled hot are mostly mild. Seven posts said they were not spicy (one: milder than Shin Ramyun), two found theirs properly spicy, and three called it just faintly hot. The hottest mentioned were chicken do piaza and mutton masala.
- Seven posts called the samosa shell crisp, two specifically not greasy; one wrote that a husband who cannot handle spices finished his in one go.
5 more
- Four posts said the lamb curries — mutton kadai, mutton do piaza, mutton masala — had no gamey smell; none said they did.
- No one called it expensive; thirteen posts said it was good value. One worked out under 20,000 won a head before beer; another, back after graduating, said a 12,000-won curry and a 10,000-won half tandoori felt barely changed from student days.
- Window seats look down on the street and its trees; seven posts sat there or mentioned the big windows, and one noticed a power socket at each window seat.
- Seven posts called the staff friendly — one asked for a curry recommendation and got a full explanation, another was told unprompted about the free refill. Several noted the owner and staff are from abroad but speak Korean easily.
- Seven posts came as a couple, five with friends, two alone, one with family and one as a group of three; a current Ewha student wrote that plenty of students eat the one-person set alone.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 14 of 28 posts |
|---|---|
| Lift to the floor | yes 0 · no 1 (of 28 posts read) |
| Toilet inside | 4 of 28 posts |
The restaurant is on the second floor. Fourteen posts describe going up to it, six of them by the stairs — one says you enter beside the ground-floor clothes shop and climb to a yellow door. The registered address says third floor, but every post says second.
No post mentions arriving by wheelchair or with a stroller, or a step at the door — that means nobody wrote about it, not that it is fine. Six posts say they took the stairs, and one says there is no lift, so the stairs are the only way up.
The toilet is inside the restaurant, four posts said, and two noted a separate hand-washing basin; one pointed out that in buildings like this the toilet is usually shared in the corridor. Nobody said whether it is split by gender.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- No post reports waiting. One went around 7 pm on a weekday and found no queue; nobody wrote about lunchtime or weekends. Two posts booked through Naver, one of them was shown straight to a window table.
- Ten posts said it is easy by subway, mostly two or three minutes' walk from Ewha Womans University Station exit 2 (some say exit 3). No one mentioned buses.
- One April 2026 post says the restaurant moved here to the main street from somewhere else, while others say it has been in one spot for 19 years; another recalls the room being noticeably smaller in her student days. Either way, it happened before the period we read, and nothing moved during it.
- Twenty-two posts gave opening hours: twenty-one say 11:00 to 22:00 daily, one says 11:30. Most of this is copied from the Naver listing; two posts said in their own words there is no afternoon break, and one regular said it opens on Sundays too. A 21:20 last order appears in a single copied block. One post's 15:00 to 01:00 looks like another restaurant's listing and was left out.
- Apart from course A at 35,000 won for two and the 10,900-won lunch set, most dishes have a price from only one or two posts. One post put butter chicken makhani with butter naan at 14,900 won, 400 won off the 12,000 plus 2,500 that others give. No post mentions a price rise in this period.
- Two phone numbers circulate: nine posts give 02-364-8771 and five give 0507-1405-8771. Several posts relay that bookings are taken through Naver or by phone.
- Many posts share the same hashtag bundle and the same layout (location, hours, parking note, course A), which suggests commissioned reviews. Two say they were invited reviewers, one discloses sponsorship, two say they paid themselves, and the other 24 say nothing.
