Deureongkeun Kwaijeu

드렁큰 콰이즈 Drunken is the English word and kuaizi is Mandarin for chopsticks, so the name reads as drunken chopsticks; two posts spell this out.

A beer-and-chicken hof on the second floor above an emart24 convenience store, across the street from Myeongdong Station exit 10. Most people order half-and-half fried chicken with Terra draft beer, and the menu also has soju dishes like kimchi stew, stir-fried squid and sea snail salad, plus dried snacks and coffee drinks. As of March 2025 posts, the half-and-half chicken is 22,000 won and a 500cc draft is 5,500 won, up from 21,000 and 5,000 won in December 2024. We read 24 posts from December 24, 2024 to March 31, 2025; 23 of them describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours

What sets it apart

  1. The crowd is mostly foreign. Fifteen posts say they saw foreign customers, and several say their own table was the only Korean one. The menu has English and a photo for every dish, and some posts mention Chinese and Japanese too. One writer ended up translating the menu for Japanese guests.
  2. Two walls are big windows. Twelve posts mention the view: the Myeongdong intersection below and, for some, Namsan Tower at dusk. One writer says Namsan wasn't visible from where they sat.
  3. A free bowl of puffed corn comes with your drinks. Eleven posts mention it, and one got it refilled twice. Several also got something on the house: a beer, a highball, a cola, fries or tteokbokki.
  4. Chicken is fried to order; two posts say so, one adding that they heard the fryer start right after ordering. Ten posts call the batter crisp and six call the meat juicy. The claims about fresh domestic chicken and in-house brining are the owner's words, repeated by bloggers.

  1. There are both bar-style seats and tables. Four posts mention the bar seating. Two writers went alone, five with friends, one on a date and one with a child.

Getting inside

Second floor17 of 23 posts
Toilet inside6 of 23 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 3 (of 23 posts read)

It is upstairs. Seventeen posts say they went up to the second floor, through a door beside the emart24, and writers call the stairs steep and narrow.

No post says whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, or whether there is an elevator. That doesn't mean there isn't one; nobody wrote about it. Several posts do describe climbing stairs to the second floor.

The restroom is inside the bar: six posts say so, and three of them say it is a single unisex room. Three posts mention an indoor smoking room.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one wrote about waiting. Four posts say they walked straight in, but all went early: 6 p.m. on a Saturday, before dinner on a weekday, or right at opening. One found every table but two taken. We don't know whether there's a wait late at night or on weekend nights.
  • Posts disagree on speed: one says the food was slow, one says it came quickly, and two say it took a while but not long. That the owner sometimes works alone, for example on Mondays, is something bloggers were told.
  • Prices went up in early 2025. Three posts from December 30 to 31, 2024 list the half-and-half chicken at 21,000 won and a 500cc draft at 5,000 won; March 2025 posts list 22,000 and 5,500 won. The pork cutlet (17,000 to 18,000) and fried shrimp (17,000 to 19,000) were also higher by February 2025. Four posts call the place cheap. We don't know prices after March 2025.
  • Nineteen posts give the same hours: 5:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., closed Tuesdays. Most of them copied this from the listing. One post alone says 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Some mention opening on holidays and New Year's Eve; we didn't count those one-off notices.
  • Thirteen posts give the phone number 0507-1386-2252. One lists 010-3862-8907 for reservations. No one wrote about actually making a booking.
  • Some of this looks like paid promotion. One post says it was a sponsored tasting. A March 2025 post copies sentences word for word from two earlier posts; we counted its own meal but not the copied passages. Six posts share the same block of hashtags, but their text and meals differ, so we counted them.
