Kkongsimyeongwan
꽁시면관 Kkongsi is the Korean rendering of the Chinese gongxi (恭喜, 'congratulations') and myeongwan means noodle house; one post writes the name as 恭喜面館.

Kkongsimyeongwan is a Chinese restaurant in a red building off Myeongdong 2-gil, known for knife-shaved noodles, xiaolongbao and guobaorou. A bowl of beef or beef-jjamppong knife-shaved noodles was 12,000 won in posts from October 2025 to March 2026, and guobaorou or garlic kkanpunggi 26,000 won in March 2026; one pair paid 49,000 won for three dishes, a family of two adults and four children 50,000 won. Two posts say you order on a tablet at the table and pay first. We read 24 posts from June 2025 to September 2026: 19 describe a visit, 3 only introduce, list or copy information, and 2 are about another restaurant that mention this one only in directions.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart
- Twelve posts call the frying crisp. Eight ordered guobaorou and kept pairing crispness with the chewiness of its glutinous-rice batter; a regular says it is fine even eaten cold at home. One post singles out the crisp seared base of the pan-fried dumplings.
- Nine posts mention juiciness. Six ordered xiaolongbao, and two note eight to a steamer; one diner ate them too fast to notice the heat, another warns that even the pan-fried dumplings leak juice. One February 2026 post found the xiaolongbao juicy but a little sour.
- Four posts say many customers were foreigners — mostly Chinese-speaking according to one, largely Western according to another. One post says most staff are foreign and work fast without much talk; another warns communication in Korean can be patchy.
- Five posts say portions are large; a sixth left food but could not say whether it was the portion or her diet. One pair left part of the garlic kkanpunggi, and another post calls the shrimp fried rice a very big serving.
2 more
- Five posts say the prices are reasonable and none call them high — 'not bad for Myeongdong', and surprise that a bowl heaped with beef costs 12,000 won.
- Eight posts are by repeat visitors, from a regular since 2006 to an office worker on a third lunch. One February 2026 post found it merely average and said it was unlikely to return.

Parking
1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

One post confirms from experience there is no parking; the other 'no parking' lines are copied listings. A regular who drives uses department-store or Central Post Office parking and advises against the cramped Namsan-dong public lot.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 7 of 18 posts |

| In a basement | yes 0 · no 2 (of 18 posts read) |
Seven posts were seated upstairs and two on the ground floor. A regular since 2006 says pairs are put on the hectic ground floor, with the second floor opened to them at quiet times. One post notes the stairs to the second floor are to the left of the main entrance.
No one mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — we simply do not know. One post says the second floor is reached by stairs; none mention a lift.
Nobody says whether the toilet is inside or separated by gender. One regular only warns it is absurdly small and suggests going elsewhere first.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 21 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Waits vary. Five posts met a queue or saw one form behind them; three walked straight in. One got in at 3:40 pm on a Saturday just before a line formed; another had no wait at a weekday lunch. One post notes waiting chairs outside, and a long-time regular says the old lines are mostly gone.
- Tight tables come up repeatedly: one post says ground-floor tables are barely a hand-span apart with nowhere for bags, another felt like sharing a meal with strangers at a two-top, and one says it is no place for a quiet meal. Another found the interior smaller than the building suggests.
- Three posts found the staff friendly, one saw some staff being rude to other guests. One mentions side dishes being topped up unasked, another kindness to children.
- Nine posts give opening hours of 10:30–22:00 and six a last order at 21:20, mostly copied from listings. One diner went around 4 pm and found no break time, but another was told the second floor alone breaks from 1:30 pm, and a third found the place closing at 9 pm on a weekend.
- One post disagrees on prices: a January 2026 post lists guobaorou and garlic kkanpunggi at 24,000 won, xiaolongbao at 8,000 and beef-jjamppong noodles at 10,500 — lower than others — yet October 2025 posts already gave higher figures, so we cannot date a price change.
- Six posts give the phone number 02-778-8863; one gives 0507-1370-8863. 'Reservations, takeout and groups available' is copied listing text — no post describes actually booking.
- Two pairs of posts look templated: two near-identically named blogs describe the same seating, the same two dishes and the same info block in the same order, and one blog wrote up the same four dishes twice in almost the same words. We counted each post, but each pair may reflect a single visit.
