콘피에르 셀렉션 광화문 그랑서울점 Konpieureu Selleksyeon Gwanghwamun Geurangseoul-jeom Confier is French for 'to entrust'; Selection is the casual second brand of the Korean-French restaurant Confier, and one post says its menu re-serves dishes from Confier's past three years.

Confier Selection at Gran Seoul is a Korean-French set-course restaurant on the 4th floor of the Gran Seoul complex (Starfield Avenue), right by Jonggak Station. The signature courses cost 55,000 (C), 69,000 (B) and 89,000 won (A), and each runs from an amuse-bouche through a chicken gomtang, dessert and coffee. Course C was the most ordered, in 15 posts. There is also an à la carte menu: one couple had the ragu pasta (24,000), the black-pork tenderloin (32,000) and the Hanwoo striploin (49,000). Around 20 September 2026 the menu switched to autumn dishes: squid with mussel beurre blanc, pork-bone and neungi-mushroom ragu, and tofu ice cream with chestnut tiramisu. Before that, the courses had squid with spinach sauce, red-shrimp bisque pasta and blood-orange sorbet. Many visits were birthdays, anniversaries or family introductions; 10 posts went with family and 7 with a partner. We read 30 posts dated 20 July to 18 October 2026. What sets it apart
- Nearly everyone booked. Fifteen posts say they reserved, through Naver or CatchTable. They say you also pick your seat (bar, round table, booth or room) and request birthday lettering at booking time. One post says the deposit was 20,000 won a head and was refunded without a fee after the meal. The only walk-in, on a weekday evening, got the one table freed by a cancellation, and says every table was full by about 7pm.
- There is bar seating facing an open kitchen, mentioned in 11 posts. From the bar you mostly watch plating and finishing, one post says. On the other side, one diner was uncomfortable watching a server get scolded in full view, and another found the crackling from the stoves jarringly loud near the end of the meal.
- There are private rooms, used for family occasions. Eight posts mention a room or separate space, and three held a mother's birthday, a family introduction or a parents-and-kids lunch in one. The family-introduction post counted about three rooms but said they have glass doors, so only one felt truly private. 'Rooms seat 5–8' and 'rooms require a course' are copied house notices.
- The posts call it cheap. Fifteen say it is inexpensive for fine dining, and none call it expensive. One table of four paid 287,800 won for four C courses with wine pairing for two. A family paid 180,000 won for two courses plus a child's pasta and dessert. Two posts, though, found the food ordinary even at that price.

- Three posts brought children. One family found a high chair and children's dishes in their private space, and the kitchen made a separate dish of wood-ear mushroom and rice crust when they said nothing suited their child. In another, a child at the bar was given hibiscus tea instead of coffee.

Five posts parked in the building garage. One says the restaurant validated three hours once they gave their plate number on the way out, and another says a day pass is cheaper if you stay all day. One found plenty of space, while another had to go down to the fifth basement level to find a spot. The 'up to three hours free' line in other posts is copied from the house notice.

Escalators don't go all the way up. Ten posts took the lift to the 4th floor. One advises taking it from the ground floor because the escalators don't connect all the way, and another says to use the Tower 1 lift rather than the escalator. A third nearly got lost at a PC café on the way up by escalator. All ten describe going up to the 4th floor, not down to a basement.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pram can get in, so we don't know. Ten posts reached the 4th floor by lift.

What we do not know
- Service is mostly praised but not uniformly: 11 posts say staff were kind and 2 say otherwise. One diner got the cleanser before the pasta, asked, and heard nothing for about ten minutes. Another felt a male server rushed through his explanations. We counted two more as mixed: one where the pairing wine skipped the first course, and one where staff struggled to describe dishes on the day the menu changed.
- Opinions on noise split. One post says outside noise is shut out and conversations don't carry. Another says it isn't silent like formal fine dining, and a third complains about kitchen noise. A fourth found their booth quiet but the closely spaced hall tables noisy.
- No post describes queuing. That doesn't mean there is never a line; almost everyone booked, so no one wrote about it. The one walk-in waited about ten minutes for dinner service to start at 5:30. One couple arriving around 2pm on a weekday found lunch-course orders already closed and ordered à la carte.
- All opening hours in the posts are copied listings. Eleven give weekdays 11:30–21:30 and weekends 11:00–21:00, and twelve list a weekday break from 15:30 to 17:30. Three others differ: one starts weekends at 11:30, one says 11:30–21:30 every day, and one says 11:00–21:30. No post mentions a closing day or a last-order time.
- Course prices match across posts, but drink prices don't. Three posts give the wine pairing as 26,900, 39,000 and 33,900 won per person, and two give a glass of wine at 12,000 and 18,000 won. One post paid 20,000 won corkage per bottle.
- Seven posts list the phone number 0507-1388-5981. Most say they booked through Naver or CatchTable rather than by phone.
- The menu changed in September 2026. One post says it switched to the autumn menu on 20 September, and another visited on the first day of the new courses, when staff were still unsure how to describe them. Posts published in October that describe spinach-sauce squid or bisque pasta are from earlier visits, so dishes in posts up to mid-September may no longer be served.
