Naksan Naengmyeon
낙산냉면 Naksan is the hill above Changsin-dong where the shop first served noodles out of a converted house before moving down near Dongmyo; naengmyeon means cold noodles.

Naksan Naengmyeon sits in a Changsin-dong alley near Dongmyo station (Jibong-ro 5-gil 8) and sells a single dish, cold noodles, in five spice levels. Every level, from the sauce-free sunhan to the hottest eolkeuni, costs 10,000 won; the double portion is 14,000 won and extra noodles 4,000 won. The bowl is red broth and sauce under a heap of julienned cucumber and sesame, cooled with ice cubes rather than slushy broth, and a cup of warm broth arrives when you sit down. Seating is on two floors and you take your shoes off to enter. Before moving here the shop sold noodles from a house up on Naksan hill; three posts remember going there. We read 30 posts dated 31 July to 24 October 2026, of which 22 describe actually eating here. One was about a different noodle shop and seven were lists, data round-ups, TV recaps or a takeout note, so we did not count them.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The spice names are an unreliable guide. Seven posts found it hot, four found it milder than expected, and two could not decide. On the same yakeol level, one writer left half the bowl and another described a burn that hit the back of the throat, while two others found yakeol surprisingly gentle. Several posts said the heat builds as you eat rather than on the first bite. Staff reportedly tell guests the standard bowl is milder than Shin Ramyun; that is hearsay and we did not count it.
- Seven posts said the portions are big. Most found a regular bowl filling, and the post that ordered the double called it huge. One suggested starting with a regular bowl and adding extra noodles (4,000 won) if needed.
- Most people who avoided the lunch rush walked straight in. Four posts had no wait: after Saturday lunch, a weekend evening, an off-peak afternoon, and just after lunch. One post that came shortly after lunch found a long queue. Another arrived at 3pm on a Sunday and watched the upstairs fill completely by 4pm. Two posts said the food was slow, at 20 minutes and 20 to 30 minutes.
- The shop originally sold noodles from a house up on Naksan hill near the old city wall. Three posts say they went there in person; the move happened roughly 20 to 25 years ago depending on the post. One writer relayed a longtime regular's view that the old bowls were sharper and carried more cucumber, but that is second-hand and we did not count it.

There is no dedicated parking. The two posts that drove used the nearby public lot and got 1,000 won back by showing the parking receipt. One found it a hassle: you pay at the lot first, then have to walk back to the shop with the receipt. The rule that this only applies to orders of two or more bowls is copied from the shop's notice in several posts.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 6 of 21 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 3 (of 21 posts read) |
There are tables on two floors. Six posts were sent upstairs or noted a second floor, and three ate on the ground floor, so it is not a basement. Three posts said the upstairs room mixes floor tables with regular tables; one noticed the regular tables fill first. Five posts mention taking shoes off at the entrance. Two called the space roomy and one said there were fewer tables than expected.
No post says whether there is a step at the door, whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, or whether there is a lift, and nobody describes how you get upstairs. That does not mean there is none, only that nobody wrote it down. Five posts do note that both floors are shoes-off.
No post mentions where the toilet is or whether it is split by gender. Nobody wrote about it.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 7 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Only one post describes actually arriving by subway and walking over, a family coming from Dongmyo station. The line 'two minutes from Dongmyo station exit 9' that appears in many posts is copied from listing data, so we did not count it.
- Comments on staff are one each way. One writer was scolded for asking how hot yakeol is and called the staff unfriendly; a family with children said they were given extra egg. Another post described a messy moment when staff pushed a family's table aside to open a storeroom door upstairs.
- Eleven posts give the same opening hours, 10:30 to 21:00 and closed on Tuesdays, six of them adding last orders at 20:50. All are copied information blocks, and nobody mentions a mid-afternoon break. A holiday closure on Lunar New Year and Chuseok appears only in one post built from tourism-board data, so we left it out.
- Prices are the same in every post from July to October: 10,000 won for a regular bowl, 14,000 for the double, 4,000 for extra noodles. One post recorded 2018 prices of 7,000 won for eolkeuni and 9,000 for the double. Opinions on value are one each way: one writer called 10,000 won a bargain, another felt the 4,000 won upcharge for a double was too much.
- Eight posts give the phone number as 02-743-7285; one gives 02-743-1653. No post says whether the shop takes reservations. One post watched a steady stream of takeout customers; the notice about uncooked takeout and parcel delivery is copied from a sign in the shop.
