Damsan
담산 Damsan reads as 'holding the mountain' — several posts copy the house's own line that it means healthy food with the mountain in it.
Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →
Damsan is a braised pork-rib house on the ground floor of a side street behind the Hyundai department store, two to five minutes' walk from Exit 1 of Sinchon Station. The usual order is ribs at 16,000 won a head, a pot of gondeure rice at 6,000 won and rice cakes at 2,000 won, and a large buckwheat pancake comes free. Staff set a timer and cook the pot at your table; heat is picked from three levels named after instant noodles. We read 30 posts dated 7 February to 16 October 2026, 27 of them from people who ate there (the earliest visit was December 2025); three were neighbourhood lists or write-ups and were not counted. It used to be called Paldeok Sikdang.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Expect a queue. Seventeen posts waited or saw a line; five walked straight in. The waits people wrote down were 10, 10, 10–15, 20, 20–30 and 30–40 minutes. Three of the five who got straight in came early — at opening, right as dinner service began, or around 5:30 pm. Your number comes on a little soy-sauce dish, and the whole party must be present: one couple was bumped back twice while one of them parked.
- Fourteen posts mention a wooden platform and chairs out front for waiting. A January visit found a heater there; a March post says they put up an awning in wind and rain. Two posts were handed cold water while waiting on hot days.
- Twenty-three posts got the free buckwheat pancake — thin, plate-sized, 1,000 won for another. Several wrapped the ribs and sprouts in it.
- Ten posts say staff run the pot for you — set a timer, add the sprouts, tell you when to eat. One noted a seven-minute timer.
9 more
- Eleven posts say staff topped up the bean sprouts unasked (one refilled the pickles several times).
- Of 19 posts that discussed heat, 12 found it hotter than expected — even the mildest Shin Ramyun level caught some people out. Six didn't come down either way, and one, having had the mild level, felt the sweet sauce could have taken more heat.
- Eight posts called the sauce sweet; one said it wasn't overly sweet. One counted the sweetness against it.
- Twenty posts called the staff friendly. They describe red uniforms, caps with nicknames on them, a shouted group greeting every time someone comes or goes, and aprons and hair ties handed out as you sit — one joked the greetings cost her a little hearing.
- Six posts said portions were big, mostly about the gondeure rice — one pot fed three, and ordering one each is too much.
- Six posts walked from Sinchon Station Exit 1 in two to five minutes — round the Hyundai department store, or into the KFC alley and left at the first turn.
- Of posts that said who they went with: friends 6, a partner 4, family 1, groups of four 2.
- Five posts came from repeat visitors — a third visit, five-plus, ten-plus, back after four years, a habit since university.
- Two posts copied a door notice limiting tables to two hours; nobody said they were hurried.

Two posts found from experience there's no parking of its own — one used a private lot nearby, a regular recommends the Hyundai department store. Other posts' 'no parking' lines are copied listing info.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 2 (of 25 posts read) |
|---|
No one described which floor it's on from experience; only the address says ground floor.
We don't know about steps at the door or wheelchair and stroller access. One post copied a listing line saying the entrance is wheelchair-accessible; nobody wrote from experience.
Two posts say the toilet isn't inside: it's half a floor up in the building next door, with a code you get from staff.
We don't know whether the toilets are separated by gender; the only mentions are copied info blocks, one of them belonging to a different restaurant.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opening hours seem to have changed in spring 2026: February–April posts say 11 am (one went at 11), and 13 posts from June on agree on 11:30 am–10 pm, closed 3–5 pm and on Mondays. The 2:30 pm last order is for lunch; only one post gives a dinner last order (9 pm), so we don't really know it. Several posts copied a notice that they close early when ingredients run out.
- Prices held from February to October 2026: ribs 16,000, rice 6,000, pancake 1,000, add-ins 2,000 won — about 40,000 won for two on the recommended order. One post called it good value, one called it neither cheap nor dear. Ten posts mention 2,000 won off for a Naver receipt review.
- Many posts give the same phone number, 0507-1357-8469. That they take no reservations, only walk-in numbers, comes from copied info; nobody tried booking by phone.
- Three posts from 21–25 September 2026 share a hashtag set and running order, but each has its own details, so we counted them. One post disclosed sponsorship, and one February post headed itself with another restaurant's address, hours and phone, which we ignored.
