Jang Donkkaseu
장돈까스 Donkkaseu is the Korean name for a breaded pork cutlet, from Japanese tonkatsu; the posts do not say what Jang stands for.

Jang Donkkaseu is an old-style Korean-Western pork cutlet house at 584 Bongcheon-ro, Gwanak-gu, a short walk from Exit 4 of Nakseongdae Station. The set — one handmade cutlet plus a noodle dish such as jjolmyeon, naengmyeon, cold soba, kalguksu or ramyeon — costs 11,000 won, and the menu runs on to rice bowls, stews and bibimbap. You pay at the counter first and fetch side dishes and soup from a self-serve bar. We read 30 posts dated November 2025 to October 2026; 19 of them record actually eating here (February to September 2026). Seven were about other restaurants and four were only listings or descriptions, so we did not count them as visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The noodles in the set are not a taster. Fourteen of the 19 visit posts say portions are large: one found the set's naengmyeon close to a full single order, another couldn't finish and handed the rest to her husband, and the one who ordered the double cutlet counted three pieces of meat. One post suggests light eaters order a single dish instead of the set.
- Sixteen posts describe helping themselves at the side-dish bar: kimchi, pickled radish, seasoned bean sprouts, stir-fried fish cake, fresh-made kimchi, cucumber salad, plus udon broth from an urn. One writer goes back for the fish cake twice every visit. Two posts (February and August 2026) note that side dishes used to be brought to the table and have since gone self-serve.
- It fills up at mealtimes. Five posts mention a wait: two parties already queuing on one visit, only one table left when arriving half an hour before weekday lunch, and a note that waiting is almost a given at lunch and dinner. Two posts mention chairs outside the door for people waiting. Others found it nearly full at 6:30 on a Saturday and at 6 on a weekday evening. No post says how many minutes they waited.
- Nine posts describe the seating: mostly four-person tables plus a window bar for solo diners — one post counted eight four-seat tables and three single seats. One party of five had to split up, and another post says the place suits groups of four or fewer. Two posts found it roomy; one said it is not especially large.

- Six posts put it a one-to-three-minute walk from Exit 4 of Nakseongdae Station. One notes the village bus up to SNU's engineering campus passes by, and another locates it across from Jang Boulangerie.
- Seventeen posts call it cheap; one says the prices alone are ordinary. The 11,000-won set held steady from February to September 2026. Two posts paid with Onnuri gift vouchers.

Parking
2 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Two posts say there is no dedicated parking and you have to find a spot somewhere in the side streets. Several more copy "no parking" into their info box, while one February 2026 post copies "parking in front for a limited time, ask first". No post describes arriving by car.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
6 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 18 posts read) |
|---|
The registered address says basement level 1, but the one visit post that mentions the floor says the shop is on the building's ground floor, and another describes a glass front you can see through. No other post mentions the floor, so we cannot settle it.
No post says whether there is a step or stairs at the entrance, or whether anyone came in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means we don't know, not that there are none.
The only mention of toilets is "separate men's and women's" copied into one post's info box; no one describes where the toilet is or what it is like.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 22 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The single cutlet went up: a March 2026 post lists 8,500 won, posts from June 2026 on list 9,000. One regular remembers 7,500 won some years back.
- Ten visit posts give the same hours, 10:00 to 21:20, six adding last orders at 20:50 — though mostly copied into an info box. A February 2026 post had 10:30 to 21:50 with a 16:00–17:00 break; a March post says the break was dropped this year, and later posts agree there is none. Only one post addresses days off, saying there are none.
- Company varies: two posts went alone, two with a partner, two with family (one a party of five), two with friends; one mentions bringing a child. Many more posts say it is easy to eat alone here, but only two say they actually did.
- Five visit posts give the same phone number, 02-886-9297. No post says whether the restaurant takes reservations.
- "100% domestic fresh loin", "aged 16 hours", "sauce made in-house" and "15 years in one spot" are the shop's own description, copied by bloggers; we did not count them. One post built from that description plus a Naver review-count widget was not counted as a visit.
