Data as of · Published ·
A snack counter inside the heated rest floor, eight storeys up, at the M1UP spa in Geumnam-myeon, Sejong. You cannot walk in off the street: you buy a bathhouse ticket and change into their clothes first (in 2026, ₩11,000 for the baths, ₩14,000 with the rest floor, ₩19,000 with the rooftop pool, fifteen hours). Nothing is cooked to order. Three Han-River-style noodle boilers and two microwaves stand at a self-service bench, and you pick your own pot noodle, packet noodle, instant rice, frozen dish, baked egg, rice drink, crisps or juice and heat it yourself. It is open around the clock. No wallet: you tap the key on your wrist and settle the whole tab on the way out. Outside food is not allowed in. The same building holds a restaurant on the fifth floor and a poolside café on the ninth — separately registered businesses, so we have counted only the eighth. The posts we read run from April 2025 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart
- Several writers say the ticket is not what costs you — what you eat inside is. Eleven call the prices high; one says they are not outrageous. The figures that appear: over ₩20,000 in snacks alone for two noodles, a rice bowl and some drinks (July 2026); ₩11,000 for a tray holding a soup set and a noodle set (January 2026); ₩73,500 settled by a family of three, fifth-floor restaurant included (May 2025); one writer's food bill coming out level with her admission (April 2026); and another's flat observation that she spent more inside than at the door (May 2025). Because everything goes on the wrist key and is settled on the way out, nothing shows you the total as it climbs — two posts make that point, one of them listing a child's unsupervised tapping as the drawback. Two separate writers end with the same advice: eat before you come in.
- It never closes — which on a weekday makes it the only place to eat in the building. Five posts say the counter runs twenty-four hours. Four note that the cooked-food restaurant two floors down opens only at weekends and holidays; one of those writers had skipped lunch and driven from Daejeon for a bowl of noodle soup, heard the news at the door and ate a pouch set instead. Another writes that the restaurant shuts overnight while this counter does not, and a third that if no one is standing there you ring a number — at night it is not always staffed. How long you may stay is set by the ticket: fifteen hours, then ₩1,000 an hour, say four posts, with ₩2,000 more for entering the rest floor between nine at night and five in the morning, say two.
- Almost everyone at this counter has brought a child. Twenty-two of twenty-five came with children; twenty-four write about the playroom on the same floor. It sits right beside the counter behind a glass wall, so you can eat and still see them — a climbing frame, a trampoline, a slide. Six posts note the age limit of seven, and two writers with a primary-schooler record the older child being turned away. Two report high chairs at the counter, one a water cooler, four a nappy table and washbasin along the floor. Which leads to the obvious: it is not quiet. One writer puts it plainly — so many children that without one of your own you would struggle to rest — and adds that the ceiling is high enough that the air conditioning never quite catches up.
- People call it roomy and people say there was nowhere to sit, and both are in these posts. Three describe the counter area as large; three say it is not. This reads less like disagreement than like different hours — the three who found it spacious came on a weekday or first thing in the morning; the three who found it cramped came on a weekend afternoon or over a holiday. One writer reports that despite the notice against saving places, everyone saves places, and that she was once moved on for leaving a towel. Another, there over the lunar new year, read the sign about twenty minutes and saw nobody enforcing it. Three posts give the same advice: arrive between ten and eleven, leave by two or three.
- You may not bring food in. Three posts say so; one saw the notice posted beside the ₩30,000 deposit for a lost locker key. Since nearly everything sold here comes out of a pouch or a freezer, the rule bites — one writer says a shelf of retort food is no way to eat properly, another wonders aloud whether instant food is worth this money. If you are coming on a weekday, read that alongside the fifth-floor restaurant being shut.

Parking
21 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.
| Posts saying you can park | 21 of 25 posts |

Twenty-one posts describe actually parking here — not a copied "parking available" line but where the writer put the car. There is an underground car park and a surface one, with free hours tied to your ticket (two posts say four hours for the baths and six with the sauna floor; two say fifteen — the figures differ by date and we could not settle it). Three found it half empty on a weekday morning. Weekend lunchtime is another matter: one writer found the building full and the surrounding lanes jammed, another got the last surface space after the basement filled, a third describes the ramp down as hellish. When it is full you use the public car park two minutes' walk away and claim the money back — five posts say so, and the claim is a faff. One spells it out: message the venue's chat channel with both receipts and a bank account number, and the refund lands within a week. Another simply advises keeping the paper receipt. One notes the surface lot is unpaved and puddles after rain.

Getting there

Getting inside

Eighth floor — and moving between floors here is a particular nuisance. The ticket desk is on seven, the women's baths on six, the men's on seven, this counter and the sauna rooms on eight, the rooftop pool on nine, and the fire-kiln room and cooked-food restaurant on five. Eight and nine connect by an internal lift, but to reach five you push through a steel door into the open air and take a public lift or the stairs. Four writers describe it. One, in shorts and a T-shirt and still damp: her body heat dropped on every trip, and the whole family came down with colds afterwards. Another found the stairs quicker. A third noticed a heater running at each lift lobby. One notes that the stairwell to five is matted so you can walk it barefoot.
No post says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair can get in. Across twenty-five posts the words wheelchair, pushchair, ramp, threshold and step never appear. That there are lifts, that you take your shoes off and change clothes, that the trip to the fifth floor goes outdoors — all of that is written down. Whether any of it can be crossed on wheels, we do not know. Four posts place a nappy-changing table on this floor and two report high chairs at the counter; that tells you families come, not that the route is passable.
One post says there is no lavatory inside the eighth-floor rest area: it is past the lifts, which means stepping into the cold to reach it. Single posts mention a lavatory opposite the entrance on five and one up by the pool on nine — both other floors. A further post lists separate men's and women's lavatories, but that line is lifted wholesale from the venue's online facilities blurb, so we have not counted it as something anyone saw. How many there are on the eighth floor, which side the door is on, whether you have to go outside in bathhouse clothes — nobody writes from their own eyes.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Not one post says how to get here without a car. Twenty-two of twenty-five say they drove; the other three simply never raise the question. The travel times people do give — half an hour from Daejeon or Cheongju, ninety minutes from Iksan — are all driving times. Two name the discount supermarket and the radiology clinic across the road as landmarks. Nobody names a bus stop or counts the walk from one. That is not the same as saying there isn't one: we do not know.
- Not one post declares a sponsorship. Eight of twenty-five state that they paid; the other seventeen say nothing. Three further posts were kept out of the count. One gives an address in a different district entirely, heads a section "fifth floor" and then describes the eighth, and still carries the unedited caption instructions where its photographs should be — six paragraphs on this counter without a single price, signed off as a hundred per cent self-funded visit. We could not treat it as a record of going. A second places the noodle machine on the fifth floor, which leaves us unable to say which of the two counters she used. A third spent her time on the eighth floor in the playroom and the sauna rooms and ate downstairs. Better a smaller number than a number we cannot stand behind. Separately, a post about the tripe-noodle restaurant on the ground floor of the same building, and a day-trip diary taking in an outlet mall in another city, were removed as other businesses' stories altogether.
- Nobody writes about queuing here — not at the till, not for one of the three noodle boilers or two microwaves. What there is instead is three accounts of competing for a place to sit: no seat and no space to lie down on a weekend afternoon; being moved on from a spot held with a towel; a no-reserving notice that nobody observes. That is not the same as saying there is no queue — only that no one wrote about one. The ticket desk is a different story: one writer describes chaos at the narrow seventh-floor counter, with families stuck unable to buy entry — but that is the desk, not this counter.
